A little notice on the front damper tower mount, its made out of Delrin plastic, to some people better known as POM and its machined 👍
The other parts are also machined and anodized on an industrial level 💪

Top force is such a good car. Best sticking with the stock steering arms, (or direct hop ups) the bathtub chassis hop ups don’t keep the geometry or throw and more slop to shim out. Rest is 100%.

That was cool, on Christmas morning even! I'm a Top Force fan, I just found out right now, ha ha! I have an original Top Force that I need to renovate and paint new body shell, really looking forward to it, and I'll be following your build, especially excited to see what that other body shell is! Oh, all the money... It's wild, isn't it?

I bought mine back in 1992 when I was on holiday in Singapore. I wanted one just because it was car number 100, since then a hype around this car happened. In 2005 a re-re came out (#58362) and in 2017 another came out (#47350). I'm still waiting for the Evo re-re. I hopped up mine with a carbon chassis and the shocks, a one-way in the front and ball raced off course. This is my absolute favorite car with the options. Traction of a 4WD and handling like a 2wd in the corners.

Ps.....l put a one way bearing in my ta02 touring car in the 90s when I raced them, it stayed in until the first corner of the first practice lap, i was flying into the first corner, touched the brakes and went flying head over tit, almost wrecking the car, can you guess what happened to the one way bearing.......let’s just say i no longer have it lol 😂

Wowzers... I thought one of the appeals of Tamiya was the price point but you take it to a whole new level with hop ups. I guess once you enter into that territory with any RC car the cost goes up. I don't own a Top Force or indeed any Tamiya car at the moment but so captivating are your videos I still watched it to the end. :-) Good stuff.

Excellent video! I have had an original topforce evolution for years and slowly rebuilt it the only thing I couldn't get my mitts on was original hi-caps to I've went for the re-release ones and I totally agree with you it's one sorted buggy and up with the best modern buggies for performance the one way diff is superb because the central of gravity is brilliant in the topforce!👍

Alway thought the topforce looked a bit odd with that flat body almost like it´s have been run over haha, but i did end up buy one a few weeks ago when my local hobby shop had it on sale. Really enjoyed the build and love to drive it and love it even more for everytime i use it and off course i did go boxart.

Excellent Glen, Merry Christmas and can't wait to see the finishing product. The chassis design of the Top Force is like 30 yrs old by 2021 but yet there are dedicated RC guys like Bora that keeps it alive and running. The chassis itself is a very easy running and tuned one and has proved itself with time. The addition of these alloy parts should make it stronger and more durable hopefully. Would be like to see the finished product jumping and dashing on a dirt track.

Sounds like an awesome build. Carbon drive shaft would look sweet on that project. 2011 cvds from the avante should work i would polish them on a drill chuck and then send them to your friend to blue anodize like the other trick parts. Looking forward to it.

Classic is a word for the Top Force! I did mine in boxart and it looks beautiful in the flesh! But also this buggy just loves to be done in different themes and takes Hop Up parts so beautifully! A Tamiya masterpiece! Great vid mate👍

Glenn..... The Top Force is an incredible bit of Kit, certainly the best of the "middle ground" Tamiya Buggies...
But I'm almost ashamed to admit that I never liked the Body! 😳😖 I actually feel the need to apologise.
I guess you could just say that... That's why we're presented with so much variety. Especially Tamiya, who have a look for nearly anyone!!
I absolutely love and won't hesitate to say that your Build will easily surpass the Evo Version!! 👍👍🍻 NICE bits you got for it. Yes, you have some incredible Friends!

No question it'll be a great build. Looks-wise it's an interesting one. Straight out, it's got no nose. It's wide and fat with a great big wing. I can see the appeal but for me it's missing the basics: low to high rise from the nose to the wing, one gradual rise. I think the green is great but imagine an Egress on this chassis, in green....yeah super good.

There is another very cool and good upgrade. The uppgrad is the attachments to the rear arms. Whit the upgrade the arms are no longer attached to the gearbox and they get a different angle that prevents the suspension at the rear from squatting when accelerating.
You need to see more top forces mate as you can get 90% of the parts on that car very easily from many different people. Everyone should have a top force in there collection as it's been my favorite car since my first TF and then many more and a few more evo's over the years. Mine is a triggers broom of old 25 year old parts and new bits that people are now making. Happy Christmas mate and keep up the good work.

Wow, that's going to be one expensive car dude!! Personally, I'm not a fan of the Top Force box art, it looks really odd, but I've seen videos of the bodyshell and it looks better 'in person', as it were. My favourite box art, and this might seem weird, is the Grasshopper, love that action shot on the box. Anyway, can't wait to see this car finished and running!! Happy Xmas mate!!

Just a note on the steering components. I tried fitting them to a carbon TA02 chassis. Now I'm quite good at making things fit, and i could not get them right so reverted to the plastic parts. With luck the DF01 will be different, or the steering parts you end up with will be different from the ones i failed with. Fingers crossed!

Thank you Glenn ! Could you explain the one way gears for us please ?
The normal top force kit (and all other df01/ta01/ta02 kits) comes with a fixed 'two way' idle gear in the front gear box which means the front wheels spin at the same time as the rear wheels in both directions at all times (front and rear gearboxes are effectively locked together). The top force evolution kit however came with a front '1-way' idle gear which means the front wheels can keep spinning freely in the forward direction even when you slow the rear drive train down, this is supposed to help reduce under steer when braking but in some cases can be like pulling the handbrake on and locking the rear wheels up.
When the top force was re-released in 2017 Tamiya also released a hop up 1-way gear set for it which you could buy separately to get it closer to 'evo spec'.

It’s actually for the DF-01, it’s made for the bathtub chassis like the Manta Ray. But with some modifications it can be used in the Top Force chassis 😊🤞🏻🤞🏻

It’s taken awhile to put all this together Michael 😤. Almost daily internet searches on the part numbers until I found them 😅😅😅
Robert should have removed the anodized servo and motor in his car and re-anodized it in "bling-blue" ;_) Then my OCD would be satisfied. But anodized green/blue/gold in one car ??? Not my cup of tea...Blue motor und blue servo (cheap from china) are already on the market, if he wanted the Savöx and Castle parts not to be touched.

You know Tamiya is reissuing the high caps I wish I do that with all their parts they should rere them just like they do their car.
Never could go wrong with titanium and by the way I did a video on the 2017 vol 2 to my catalog I will be doing more later I will have to also do a better job showing it hurts in trouble some people complain that they can see everything so I have to do better on the 2018s.
