    My family moved to the Bronx from Harlem in 1975. We actually lived in the house next door to D.J. KOOL HERC building on Sedgwick Avenue at 1526. I recently heard that our house was torn down but it can be seen in the movie about Hip Hop called, "THE GET DOWN". Back then we would attend Herc's parties at 1520 and at the parties in the various parks in the Bronx. I left the Bronx in 1980 but I have been back and I am proud of the memories I have.

      @blackpalacemusic Před 26 dny +1

      Did you go to Herc's parties before his 1973 Jam?? Most people think the 1973 party was the beginning, but in an interview his sister said they were doing parties before but those were house parties.
