Su-35 ✈️ The Real

- MAKS 2021 Airshow is going on in Russia and this year UAC/Sukhoi have presented a new fighter aircraft, dubbed the #Checkmate, a lightweight, thrust vectoring single engine fighter aircraft aimed at competing with and surpassing the capabilities of the american F-35 by virtue of being faster, flying further, being stealthier and... cheaper (among others). ( :
The new Checkmate (Su-75 apparently?) design is quite interesting, featuring a delta planform layout (no canards) with full-flying V-Tail stabs. It also features a quite uncommon chin inlet design that reminds of the X-32.
That's all cool and well... but we know who the REAL CHECKMATE is, don't we? :DDD
The Su-35 remains as the absolute aerobatic queen-beast of the skies and has win our hearts time and time again with the utmost crazy, UFO-like, physics-defying flight displays and post-stall stunts... so, the bar is raised high for the new jet to try and conquer it!
What do you think, will the new fighter live up to the PR hype? Maybe it does... but for the time being, I know which jet I consider the master of the chessboard!
If the #checkmate is a Knight, then the Su-35 may well be the Queen! ;)
On the video we can see Sukhoi test pilot Yuriy Vaschuk at the controls of the Su-35S, yet again performing an unearthly flight demo filled with extreme post-stall aerobatics that seem designed to bully Newtonian physics!
The Sukhoi Su-35 (Сухой Су-35; NATO reporting name: Flanker-E) is the designation for two separate, heavily-upgraded derivatives of the Su-27 air-defence fighter. They are twin-engine, single-seater, highly-maneuverable fighter aircraft, designed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and built by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association.
The first variant (not a Loki... or maybe?) was designed during the 1980s as an upgrade of the Su-27, and was initially known as the Su-27M. This derivative made use of canards and had a multi-function radar that transformed the aircraft into a multi-role fighter jet. It was also structurally reinforced to support its heavier weight. The first prototype made its maiden flight in June 1988. The aircraft did not enter mass production at the time due to the collapse of the Soviet Union and therefore Sukhoi re-designated the aircraft later on as Su-35 to attract export orders. At the same time, the fourteen aircraft initially produced were used for tests and exhibitions; one example had thrust-vectoring engines installed, and the resultant Su-37 was used as a technology demonstrator.
In 2003, Sukhoi embarked on a second modernization of the Su-35 to serve as an interim aircraft awaiting the development of the Sukhoi PAK-FA (Su-57, previously T-50) program. Also known as Su-35, this derivative had a redesigned and highly modernized cockpit as well as an improved weapons-control system, it also featured thrust-vectoring engines (AL-41F1S, formerly AL-117S) in place of the omitted canards. The airbrake was gone and it used aerodynamic rudder brakes. The type made its first flight in February 2008. Although the aircraft was designed for export, the Russian Air Force in 2009 became the launch customer of the aircraft, the production version of which is the currently designated Su-35S.

@Alfred Churchill the f-22 are being replaced because of running costs. Beautiful. I will never grow tired of seeing SUs gracefully dance through the sky as no other aircraft can.
Remember when two f22s in northern Syria were locked on by a su35 and they ran to Iraq. Very telling what this machine is capable of. I personally think they have made a almost perfect balance of priorities in this aircraft.
I do recall ;)
If all SU35s were fitted with aesa radar, they would be the rulers of the air, maybe, along with the rafale, euro fighter and griffin.
@@HoLeeChit11 Irbis E on Su-35S is very very good radar, dont underestimate its capabilities, its half PESA radar, but due its huge area have big output power. During tests in 2000s they could track targets with area 5-10 m2 on almost 400 km. Who knows what current versions of Irbis is capable of.

@@APACA who?
Man, the Su-27 and all its variants are the most beautiful planes ever made. US planes are effective but they all have a utilitarian style about them. The Su-27 and variants by comparison are sleek and beautiful. The body and wing surfaces blend together beautifully. The proportions of nose to wings to tail are aesthetically appealing. The slight downward curve of the nose makes it look like a bird of prey. Etc etc, I could go on.
You don't like the F-16? With its blended design? F-22? B-2?

@@FetaCheese406 Yes the F-16 is beautiful too, definitely a contender, maybe the only one on the US side. But I still favor the Su-27 above all. Not personally a fan of the B-2, but it’s hard to compare a flying wing design vs a traditional one, it’s probably more a love it or hate it thing.

@One Trick Pony reminds me of U.S. air superiority strategy going into Vietnam. We all know how poorly that ended.
what's interesting about the su-75 checkmate is during an interview (with uac head? chief designer? i dont remember who) it was stated that it will use a "first stage engine" of the 14.5-16t class, a variant of existing in-use engine. this confirms that a further developed variant of al-41 series is going to get up to 16t class trust, 3d tvc and stealth serrated nozzle. now imagine that on su-35sm and su-30sm2~
I'll wet myself, lol
@@Airguardian my guess is they will start with a monkey export version like russians always do, equiped with al-41 variant engine and smaller aesa, its stated the least performance radar can engage 6 targets(including two surface targets) while tracking 30, that data sounds the same as mig's small aesa, could be wat they use for export, so a lot of the data we seen in the presentation might be for export version, using al-41, the stated maximum speed of mach 1.8, 8g load, 16.5km ceiling and 2800km range all make sense, while when and if russian airforce decides to buy it, it will get the 30 engine having speed of mach 2 or more, 3000km range, and ceiling and g load might be higher too

LOL so wrong on both counts. Russian pilots BARELY get any flight time due to their poor funding. They are barely proficient enough to safely fly their aircraft and land let alone conduct combat operations. The SU-35 may be great at air show aerobatics but that stuff is worthless in actual air combat and Russian pilots will get deleted long before they know there is an F-22 or 35 in the area.

If engineering excellence were to be measured on a scale of 1 - 10, then this piece of machinery gets a big 10.5 hands down. The SU-35S is D absolute air superiority fighter on God's earth or shall I say skies, bar none.
The word Stealth keeps coming up as if its the game changing wonder, it's not.
Stealth as a concept and as a practical aircraft technology was conceived by a Russian mathematician.
- Pyotr Yakovlevich Ufimtsev (Russian: Пётр Я́ковлевич Уфи́мцев) (born 1931 in Ust-Charyshskaya Pristan, West Siberian Krai, now Altai Krai) is a Russian physicist and mathematician, considered the seminal force behind modern stealth aircraft technology.
In the 1960s he began developing equations for predicting the reflection of electromagnetic waves from simple two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects.
Much of Ufimtsev's work was translated into English, and in the 1970s American Lockheed engineers began to expand upon some of his theories to create the concept of aircraft with reduced radar signatures.
Credit: Wikipedia
Since mid to late 2000s, the Russians, Chinese, and then the Iranians in 2010s developed and fielded sophisticated stealth-aircraft detection, tracking, and ranging, as well as targeting systems (both passive and active types) making these expensive US made F-22 and F-35 aircraft worthless tools that could be destroyed like any other flying object. Nonetheless, the big MIC in USA will make you believe their horse-shit about the radar cross section (RCS) and radar jamming pods to protect their not so stealthy flyers as if the nations of this world are sitting idle waiting for USA to rule the skies. Well, that's a fantasy with no substance or real evidence to proof. Regan's Star-war animations in 1980s comes to mind. So, it was fake then, and its fake now.
Hopefully and soon enough, we will witness the actual worth of these US stealthy aircraft when they start dropping like Fat-Turkeys if and when USA foolishly starts a major conflict with a serious adversary such as Russia, Iran, or China. Constantly repeating a lie makes the liars believe their own lies, and that's how Nazi Germany believed their own propaganda fantasizing about super weapons and game changers against all odds, but, they got destroyed and Berlin was captured by the Russians. Now, Germany is a mere colony/protectorate despite their make-believe super weapons.
Thanks for posting this wonderful video. The videography is brilliant and worth watching. Bravo . .
Thank you :)
Well stated.

Thanks for the feedback.
I tried to be as objective as possible. However, in this instant-gratification world anyone owning an internet connection could be a 5 minute expert on any given topic. So, they start fantasizing about very grave issues like simple video games, which Hollywood and MSN uses constantly to glorify US military technology.
They utilize written propaganda or movies portraying US weapons as powerful, peerless, and invincible. Yet, in September 2019, the Saudi Arabian oil-fields of Abqaiq and Khurais were attacked by air leaving both Saudis and Americans as clueless armatures. Their hype went in smokes when the Iranians destroyed half of S. Arabia's oil production using locally designed drones that none of USA's vast space based satellites, sea based, and ground based radars or their surveillance aircrafts could detect. Furthermore, to this day they have no idea how and from what direction the Iranian Drones entered Saudi airspace to conduct that very destructive bombing raid.
Take care
