A lot of nice items in this box, and I always love getting Earth Harbor. But I agree with you that when I was subscribing, the most exciting items in the boxes were those for the home or the environment, I guess (like a candle) or experiences (I include cozy treats here or something like a cookbook). For me, at least, I think this is because while skin care can be hyggelig, like many forms of comfort and self-care can be, it's not what I expect from a box that's all about creating hygge feelings. It's my understanding that hygge is a feeling, a state of being, created by comforting, soothing, and warm environments or activities. Skin care is great, but it's not exactly an emblem of comfort for me.
I guess I should be glad they have backed off the socks (when I subscribed for half a year. I got 4 pairs of socks 🥴), but their current boxes don't make me want to resubscribe. They are nice, but they aren't filled with the experience I'd want from a hygge box. Who knows though, maybe we're the only two and most of their subscribers are loving the curations they are getting 🤷🏾♀️
Yes, I think you nailed why I'm not excited about the skincare items in this box as much as when I get them in other lifestyle boxes. I think for a hygge box, I expect more of a combo of Norlii, Birdmoss, and Hygge in a Box. I think the 3 guarantees of drink, snack, and light make sense although I'd be ok if it was more of drink/snack thing to make more room for more variation.
