The fact that there's only 4 confirmed deaths right now is an absolute miracle! Even if the death toll climbs up to 10-15 people, I'd still consider that really low for the power and size of this storm

And for us feels like the end of the world when the power is out for an hour or so (kids are video games addicts). Can't imagine to live without electricity, water and stores for a month. Would stay with relatives in another state during the repairs, I think. BTW I'm from NH and we have a wood stove which helps during snow storm power outages, but need to store water before them because no power - no water.

Florida found that the eaves of houses are what causes roof damage. The new building codes require strong strapping to the foundation to keep the rafters from moving.

@@sherrisheppard4599 Gas cans, you drive down the road where you have power and buy gas. Trust me I know. I live in SW Louisiana and one year ago we had a cat 4 hurricane hit us then 6 weeks later a cat 2 and in between that we had a tropical storm. Not long after that we had record flooding in our area oh. Did I mention we had a winter storm that froze everything
Also, hurricane Ida could have hit us. I had my generator ready and about 50 gallons of gas ready. My generator burns about 12 gallons in a 24 hrs period.
Also, most of our stores have stand-by generators and they run on natural gas. Those pipes are under ground and usually don’t get compromised during a storm.

And Jehovah shall be seen over them, and His arrow shall go forth like the lightning; and the Lord Jehovah shall blow the ram's horn, and shall go out with the windstorms of the south.
    (Zechariah 9:14)
17 Dread, and the pit, and the snare are on you, O dweller of the earth.
18 And it shall be, he who flees from the sound of dread shall fall into the pit. And he who comes up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare. For the windows from on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth quake.
19 The earth is breaking, breaking! The earth is crashing, crashing! The earth is tottering, tottering!
20 Like a drunkard the earth is staggering, staggering! And it rocks to and fro like a tree-hut! And its sins heavy on it; and it shall fall and not rise again.
21 And it shall be in that day, Jehovah shall punish the host of the high place on high, and on the kings of the earth on the earth.
22 And they shall be gathered, as prisoners are gathered in a dungeon. And they shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days they shall be judged.
23 Then the moon shall blush, and the sun shall be ashamed, when Jehovah of Hosts shall reign in Mount Zion, in Jerusalem, and gloriously before His elders.
    (Isaiah 24:17-23)
And great earthquakes shall be in different places, and famines and plagues. And there shall be terrors and great signs from Heaven.
    (Luke 21:11)
    25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars. And on the earth will be anxiety of nations with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 men fainting from fear, and expecting those things which have come on the earth. For the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
27 And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to happen, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption draws near.
    (Luke 21:25-28)
