    14:40 - the snow level and falling blocks of ice are based on the TMNT chartoon episode where the rock soldiers unleashed a weather control device and set it to "total chaos". (Oddly enough, the device also has a setting for "mild showers.") It causes NYC to slip into winter, and large ice blocks to fall from the sky. The turtles destroy it after beating the end boss. (Fun fact: that end boss was designed by one of the two TMNT creators.) I personally liked that level. The other bonus level, I did not like.

    • @volbound1700
      @volbound1700 Před 2 lety +1

      I personally feel like he had to come up with something for entertainment about TMNT2. However, it isn't a bad game and the new levels/bosses was a nice feature. Overall, the TMNT franchise was well done in the video game era with the exception of that first NES title.

    • @arm-power
      @arm-power Před rokem +1

      Yep, there was an episode with a whether modifier - S01E04 Friends from X-dimension (kid Neutrinos). Whether satellite was Lord Crang's secret invention and was launched by Stone Soldier who came from X-dimension. There was no boss because turtles shoot down the satellite in one of the Neutrino's flying cars. To be honest as a kid with all that rich imagination I didn't care at all that didn't match cartoon series.
      We as a kids played this game for such a long time before we managed to beat Shredder. One of the most difficult game on NES while super fun to play. One of the most beautiful game on NES - the animated flames in level 1 was unheard on 8-bit computers. Probably best in game music on NES. TNMT2 was master piece back then.
      Thanks god I didn't know there was arcade version. This saved me a lot of money!

      Except that the Irate Gamer is actually inspired by AVGN, unlike that Gay Dude who nitpicks over petty little shit that would be common sense to other gamers, who is just a flat out rip-off. Irate Gamer at least reviews games in a different style compared to James' and very recently has experimented with a new style which I do tend to like. Game Dude on the other hand just straight up copies AVGN, with the speech, his room, no personality with his character, just about everything. So you really can't say he's inspired, a rip-off is more suiting to him.

    I've got a few things that I have to say. Number one, I am so happy that you've went back to do more irate gamer. I didn't care if people thought of you as some type of CopyCat to the AVGN, but I've always said that you as a person, were more than capable of doing your own things, and that you were doing a great job doing them.
    Second off, even though these games are flawed in their own way, I still have a soft spot. Even for the first one, the side-scroller. Just like how Mario, donkey Kong and Sonicmade an impression in my brain, the turtles were always there just like them.super happy that arcade1up made the cabinet, not too great on the price but I'm still waiting for a little drop, but I do intend to pick it up one day.
    And third, that is amazing that you got Rob Paulsen to do anything.ever since his CZcams show where they do voice lines as their own characters, I haven't seen much of Rob. I'm so glad he's still doing stuff.

    By the way, in the snow level, when the snow truck drives through, just stick to the very bottom of the screen. It can't hit you.
    I also never had that much trouble with the paper tigers. I always went to the opposite side of the screen from them, so that I had more time to line up a hit when they run back onto the screen. I also attacked those hopping robot ninjas with diving kicks. I got pretty good at figuring out their rhythm.

    I think I liked the NES port of TMNT Arcade out of pure STUBBORNNESS. I couldn't afford to spend all my lunch money on the arcade game every week, and the NES version was SO FRIKKIN' HARD... I was DETERMINED to get thru it. I learned codes, I read magazines, I talked strategies with other kids on the playground. TMNT 2: The Arcade Game was more of an interactive experience than simply the game itself. Yeah, the downgrade in graphics was disappointing, but the limit to 2 players was okay because it was just me and my little brother anyway. Eventually, we crushed that game and it was such a high, until TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project arrived. Then we got to do it all over again.

    I'm so jealous of all the kids that got to play these TMNT games in the arcade. I grew up in a small town with 1-2 cabinets at a nearby Pizza Hut - none of which were ever TMNT. So I didn't even know they existed! We just played the console ports and thought they were the greatest
    I have the Arcade1Up cabinet now and my girlfriend and I absolutely love it!

    The only thing the original TMNT arcade game has going for it is *nostalgia.* Turtles in Time and the SNES port are improvements in every way. I realized this after playing the Arcade1Up version. Like any arcade game, it's designed to eat quarters, so that means annoyingly long boss fights and cheap death traps. It's bitter sweet.

    • @TheGrowlerCatB2BGame
      @TheGrowlerCatB2BGame Před 4 lety +2

      Mike isn't really from AVGN. He's from cinemassacre. He did play characters such as Jason, Joker, and The Cowardly Lion. I guess if you want to really reach then you can argue he was in the lethal weapon review at the very end, but it was a tiny cameo that didn't really make any sense. Still, I felt it was funny. Irate sort of won me over with the Dick Tracy review, but it's sort of lame he only has these "guests" on his show via cameo. Just like a minute clip that he cuts up and then serves at the beginning and the end of the video. It's kind of a cheap tactic to clickbait something. Technically he isn't lying, but it really is a cheap way to rake in views. I guess he has to do what he feels he must.

    It's really too bad it came so late in the NES's life, because it really is pretty darn good. I sank many hours into the first two NES TMNT games because that's what a poor kid who was a TMNT fan did when that was the only option, but it wasn't until Turtles III that I remember actually having consistent, constant fun! My brother and I beat it many times, both solo and together!

    Nice . The Name Of The Boss In The Snow Level Is Tora Tora is described as a "blizzard beast", an anthropomorphic alien with features resembling a polar bear and an arctic wolf. He's a bounty hunter, hired by Krang and Shredder to squash the Turtles. His main weapon is giant hailstones that fall from the sky, which he hefts in the Turtles' direction. Tora is fought in Central Park, where he guards the Foot's weather-changing machine but he's only in the NES version. And Also TMNT : The Arcade Game Is Also and Unlockable Bonus Game in TMNT 2 : Battle Nexus While Turtles In Time is also an Unlockable Bonus Game in TMNT 3 : Mutant Nightmare. But aside from that Cool Video.
