The Monkees were promoting their 1987 summer tour and their new album, "Pool It!". This originally aired on August 31, 1987. Please visit my website at www.monkeesconc....
I love when the guys did group interviews. They genuinely had a great time and feed off each other’s funny bones. The audience ate it up, (me too). Sooo funny. Peter once said that when they interview together they would get silly for the cameras but... one interviewer, (Jane Pauley?), mentioned that they were cutting up off set. At the Jane Pauley interview, Micky laughed so hard he ended up on the floor. Now part of that was improv but the inside joke was hilarious! (Don Kirshner) They were at their best when together, Comically, brotherly and yes, sincere. Monkee brother love so evident. Okay, just got to shine the light on Peter. The one liners crack me up, the audience as well. RIP Manchester Cowboy
I love The Monkees they did made a great group a great team !! I miss Davy R I P !! Ill Love him forever ! Miss Peter as he recently died R I P Peter !!
frank robinson Mid seventies reruns for me! I was a Nez and Davy fan then. But when I began watching vids from 1986 on, just about died of fan love for Peter. Love his older man beauty. His wife is a blessed woman!
This program is about a year after I saw them on stage - I should've used binoculars then, but during the concert there were many MANY others way behind me in D section.
They are so funny to watch I have the complete box sets they're pretty cool the boxes are shaped like a old time record player the lad lifts up and inside are the DVDs
Liane Layman General Hospital . Rules of Engagement and others. Micky was so proud that she became a working actress without asking him for help. An independent woman!
Well, you can sorta kinda get nostalgic over stuff prior to your birth. There is a vibe kids can get lost in, but it takes a while to recognize what the feeling is to that decade or period. I like to call it, "That takes me back and I wasn't even there." Hence people will claim to have been born in the wrong time or era, or propose they must have been born too early or too later, those chestnuts, y''know.
YesterdayIsNow Ya! I didn’t seeThe New Monkees when it came out. Didn’t even hear word one. CZcams made it possible for me to watch. So weird, low budget and comically forced. No group charisma. Like someone, ( help me out with the name...) once said about the original Monkees,They caught lightning in a bottle. The only things I liked was that one of them was pretty and had long eighties hair. The music , though not popular, was in line with the times, and they tried so hard. I’m sure they felt that this gig was going to set them for life. “ Dreams, they do die hard. Quiz: Name The Monkees song that contains that line.
Susan Ryan I didn’t see the new Monkees when they came out, too busy living life. When I first started on CZcams, I looked up the first episode and was freaked out. Humor without cleverness or heart. Sad/bad acting. Caricature rather than character. Economy sets, economy ideas. It was NOT worthy of the Monkee moniker. I do feel for them. I’m sure they felt that it was their big break. I do have to say that I thought the music portion was well done. They had musical talent, my opinion. There is a cute vid out there where they were hanging out in someone’s living room maybe, (waaaay older, ) and playing an original Monkees tune and they were having a great ol’ time!

Rest in peace Davy. Micky's daughter was on a soap opera for a while.

She was also the female lead in ‘Pumpkin Head: Blood Wings’.
Cool I didn't know Micky's daughter was an actress

I thought it meant that they were cheap imitations "Made in Taiwan" or "Made in China".
Susan Ryan Sure did!
@@TiaMargarita I never saw the new Monkees but how could there even be a new Monkees?
