  • Hello! How do you do everyone?
    Just got in from Paris with a great team as always in Cathay Pacific. Meet the team after shutdown just before we stepped off the jet.
    Check out the diversity in Cathay Pacific- pilots of different nationalities working together for an efficient operation. Hope you like the short clip- have a good week.
    ‘Chi Di Gin!’ Later!✈️✈️✈️✈️

    Great video as always with good cockpit crew. Keep seeing CX cargo aircraft in Sydney, Melbourne and keep thinking you might be on it. Later captain and crew.

    Hi,Captain Obet. It’s so nice to meet you from the latest video on Just P lane.I have dreamed of becoming an airline pilot for about 10 years and I’ll probably participate in Cathay Pacific’s cadet pilot program 4 years later when I graduate from college. Hoping to meet you that time. Appreciate your video that I could learn so much from it 😊

    Happy New Year, Skipper. Thanks for the video. When I flew on CX twelve years ago, the pilots were British. Is this diversity reflected in other departments of the airline?

    Can a all nationality people's can be a pilot for cathay pacific? Because I saw the eligibility criteria Says it must be a hk citizen

  • @sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu6298

    Why is it called block time?

    • @pilot_obet
      @pilot_obet  Před 8 měsíci +3

      Because the aircraft before it moves under its own power has chocks in place as a safety feature to prevent the aircraft moving inadvertently. These chocks are sometimes called blocks as they look like blocks placed at the wheels. When the aircraft is about to move or be pushed back, ground personnel remove the ‘blocks’ or chocks if you like, and that moment is called ‘Off Chocks’ or ‘Off Blocks’. When it lands at destination, and the aircraft stops/ parks, the chocks or ‘Blocks’ are again placed for safety. This is ‘On BLOCKS’ time 😀

      @@pilot_obet wow! What an informational and informative response. Thank you for this. I'm learning a lot here. I sometimes see ground personnel struggling to remove those chocks at BUQ and one time observed one communicating to the pilot via those cables attached to somewhere above the nose wheel (don't know what that's called). The pilot then turned the nose wheel which freed the chocks. Didn't know they're also called blocks. But is the aircraft parking brake not effective enough?

    The real answer comes with the passport. I don’t believe they hold common passport Mauritius, indian or korean.
    Lets be real its either cathay accepts British, british occupied countries, american, german and China which cathay has no choice to accept chinese😂
