  • DIY Bike rack wall mount. How to build bike rack to reorganize for extra room and easy access in your garage with things that you may already owned.
For each bike rack you need the following:
    1 - Stud 2.5" x 8 feet
    3 - 1/4 size x 3.5" bolt
    2 - 1/4 size x 1" bolt
    7 - 1/4 nuts
    1 - Set of hinges
My over cost for this bike rack is around $7.00 excluding some of the metal bars that I have laying around in my garage. Instead of purchase the STEADYRACK which cost around $160, I chose to DIY project which everyone would love to save some CASH.

*I was expecting a lot of shortcuts to be taken at this price. I was wrong. Decent quality **Latest.Bike** raker . Easy on easy off.*

This is the best design I’ve seen! Excellent. I saw another guy used two sets of hinges w small piece of plywood between so the rack can swing either direction. That is a nice addition to your design- if tilting them both directions is useful in the space. Excellent thx for sharing.

Well done! This is the simplest (and likely cheapest) implementation I have seen of this concept to date.

A little late but I did the same thing using a 2x4 and a generic jumbo bike hook. Super cheap and works

Love the design - I think I'll make the side support out of 1" nylon strap so I can easily fold up the lateral metal rack and store it out of the way when not in use. I'll probably add a gate type latch to secure the folded up rack. Thank you!

What size hinges do you use?

I used the standard size that you can find at Home Depot (Regular door that hang on your home indoor rooms)

Why? Because the oil drain to top of fork? This IS actually the best way to store fork. The bath oil in the fork keeps the bushings and seals lubricated. I'm in north vancouver and suspensionwerx recommended this as best way to store bikes for your suspension fork
