Let us be completely honest here bros, the worst thing about Ozzy songs with Randy is "ozzy's singing." It is just the plainest, more boring, bland, singing ever. His voice just isn't really made for Randy's stuff, but his voice fits great with Black Sabbath.

So really things were just evolving in the early 80s.

Takes me back to 1981 seeing them on the “Diary Of A Madman” tour at the Cow Palace, San Francisco. Would love to relive those days. Great concerts that year. VH on the “Fair Warning” tour was another. 👍

I started playing guitar in 2009 and after a few years I started to lose interest. I learned many songs from many bands and none really inspired me. Then I heard Crazy Train. Randy Rhoads inspired me to keep going. Now after attending concerts, discovering more/new bands. Randy is still the greatest guitarist (imo). That man played his instrument with straight purpose. He didn't fuck around. All respect to Randy and the remainder of the Rhoads family.

Randy was an amazing musical mind. The solo he put down on record for this song was so difficult, that he stopped trying to play it live. When asked at a guitar clinic held at a music store in the eighties about that last run, (there is audio of the session somewhere here on youtube) he replied, "yeah, its in f# minor, i dont remember, i dont really play that live anymore."
I saw 4 of the shows at different venues in NY. Randy was just beyond belief. There are so many of his solos that are copied and some come close, but he just had this kind of magic that was so rare. Just phenomenal ✌️

I saw 4 of the shows at different venues in NY. Randy was just beyond belief. There are so many of his solos that are copied and some come close, but he just had this kind of magic that was so rare. Just phenomenal ✌️
