    +++ UPDATE +++
    So guys because there was some slight confusion here is everything you need to know:
    If you arrive at the airport and want to go to Vienna we would advise you to take an ÖBB Train to the City!
    You will need two tickets!
    1. A Ticket from the Airport to the City Border (As of today 1,90€)
    2. A Ticket for the Vienna Zone (2,40€ or a 24/48/72h ticket )
    If you buy the Ticket at the ÖBB Machines they will automatically add the City fare of 2,40€ so your total would be 4,30 € to get to Vienna. But if you already have a 24/48/72h Ticket or something similar you only have to buy a ticket to the City Border which is 1,90€.
    You can use all the trains that are going from the airport to the city center. For example:
    S7 (23min) or REX (19min) takes you to Wien Mitte Landstraße (here you will find S Bahn, U3, U4)
    RJ /RJX (15min) takes you to Hauptbahnhof/Vienna Central Station (here you will find trains, S Bahn, U1)
    If you have any more questions, don´t hesitate to ask! 😁

However of you are travelling from thr city to the airport specially if you have a plane to catch, please plan in advance as we couldn't find our train and end up getting the CAT as we didn't want to miss the plane. 😬

    I don't know where you got your prices from, but it's €1.80 for everyone who has a public transport card in Vienna. For tourists, the train costs €4.30 per person per trip. Means €8.60 for both trips. CAT is not a rip off because you can check in in Wien Mitte and so you don't have to queue at the check in at the airport. In addition, the train goes through without stopping umpteen times, better seats, etc.

      What’s your preference? Like me, I enjoy classical music so the places I visited are around the opera house. At the opera house, St. Stephen’s cathedral is around. If you like walking, like me, after eating a huge schnitzel, you can even walk from the opera house, to Belvedere, then to Museum of Military History. If you stop at the city hall, you’ll find the big garden and I think it’s blossom season already. Then you can walk throughout that garden, and around, and you’ll find Mozart monument. You won’t have any problems of finding anything to enjoy at all because there’s sightseeing everywhere!!

  • @theo-paintingminiatures3541

    hi, if we want to go to the city center by a taxi but we want to get 72 hour tickets (17,10 per ticket?) how we'll do it? i saw on the video that you buy a daily ticket in the "buy more tickets" menu AFTER you bought 1,80€ (it's mandatory to buy the 1.80€ ticket? ), and when you buy it you press the "Checkout" button and then how you pay? does the machine gives change?...thanks in advance

    I m trying to buy tickets from OBB app but there is no option to exclude VOR.All the available S7 tickets cost 4.30(including one way VOR)
    I want to buy only S7 train adding a 7days tickets.But the only option is 4.30 +17.10not 1.80+17.10

      When you buy your ticket in the App you need to pick the right discount out of the unreasonable long list haha 😂 it's called "Ticket Stadtverkehr Wien (Kernzone) exkl. Jahreskarte".
      Another trick is to buy a ticket from the Airport to "Kaiserebersdorf Bahnhof". This Way you only pay the ticket to the border of Vienna 😁 but make sure to have a Wiener Linien ticket for Vienna as well, otherwise you have to pay a fee, and you really want to avoid that ❤️

      every ticket is a VOR-ticket 😉

    A little confused: Why did you check the city fare option again?

    • @polskus
      @polskus Před rokem +2

      Vienna has a core zone for public transport, which includes basically the whole city. The airport however is outside of that zone. The city fare option basically adds the cost of a ticket inside the core zone. However, if you plan to buy a 24/48/72 hours core zone ticket or even one for a whole week, you'd essentially pay twice. Hope that clears things up. If not, just ask.

      I’d say buying the Vienna City Pass so you won’t have any problems with public transportation at all. Because you won’t get ticket on the bus, I mean the ground transportation. In order to avoid the hassle, just buy 72 hr, or 48 hr depends on when you validate it. Since you have only 2.5 days, I think 48hr is already enough.
      Did I mention to you to take S7 from the airport to downtown area already? Take S7. Get the ticket from the red vending machine. Not CAT. CAT is faster but more expensive. Even if you take S7, it takes only about 30 mins to the DT area.
