Wow, I have seen those tears of joy before from my wife. A retired teacher at 63 years old and still $66,034.00 in student loan debt. It used to just break her heart. On January 2015, my wife said, I'm going to pay this off in 5 years. She was relentless with tunnel vision... She even got a part time job for a year. On January 2020 at 68 years old, my wife did her victory dance!!! I'm so proud of her... That truly had to be a heavy burden to carry...

Student loan. Paid off today. Consolation credit card loan. Paid off today. No more payments 🙌🏾never again consumer debt. Changed our family tree. I once was young but now I’m old and I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging bread. It’s through Christ my husband and I were able to b debt free today. Now onward march to baby step 3🙌🏾🙏🏿

Wow when she was at the counter paying for her groceries and she told the clerk to take some items off to stick with her budget and people were in line behind her. That hit me hard because it brought back a memory. That was so embarrassing for me. Now she had money in the bank and she stuck to her guns not to go over the $100. That's a very strong and disciplined woman right there. Congratulations on getting debt free!!!

Those are 2 very proud parents over there! I am especially happy to hear that her extended family supported her through this plan. Many times family can be a huge distraction typically because she is a high wage earner and for some reason family members feel like she would be “obligated” to help all of them out when they are in precarious financial strain. This is not only a success story for her but also one for her entire support group! Very refreshing, she is going to make some lucky young man very happy all the while creating generational wealth for their children’s children! This is EXACTLY what we need as a people!! Hooray!!!!!

Yup. Took me 23 years to pay off my student loans because I had no plan for dealing with it and I kept going deeper into debt. Then two decades passed me by. I paid them off ($49K) by selling my house.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, I work for a top tier investment bank and HR grad jobs would be lucky to make $70-80k at the very most straight out of school. I guess she works for Boston Consulting Group, they pay high salaries + bonus plus it’s treated more like a front office role despite being consulting
If you make your way up to VP of HR they make easily 6 figures. The VP of HR where I worked at in hospitality made around 150k
