    The moment in 3:12 is one of the best examples of Tony being a good leader. He validated a subordinate’s concerns and followed through with an act of courtesy. If Tony had continued to demonstrate this kind of leadership throughout his reign he wouldve had a better chance of maintaining loyalty within the family.

    Paulie was right, and I think it was a central theme of the whole show, the incompatibility of the Mafia with a "normal" family life. When the Sopranos go down at the end of the series, it's because one of his men is ratting due to his kid being in trouble, and assuming Tony is killed, it's because he was distracted by sitting with his family. Only Paulie survives.

    Great example of leadership by Tony. He completely chastises Paulie and treats him like a school kid in front of Chrissy and Sylvio. Then so it wouldn't escalate with Paulie pride he says that goes for all of you as to not isolate Paulie even though they had nothing to do with it. Then he adds the compassion at the end so Paulie would feel happy. Tony showed both essential characteristics of a great boss in 1 scene

    It was ironic that Paulie was one of the few Sopranos characters still alive at the end of the series. He committed two of the most horrific murders: killing his mother's friend when he entered her house and stole cash she had hidden and shooting the waiter outside the restaurant when the waiter complained to Chris about the lousy tip.

    3:00 It's funny to think that Tony, in his head equated the Paulies mom prank call situation with Ginnies joke. Which is why says the "this is a business" line like Carmine did that time. That was something trivial Johnny Sac was getting bent over but this was actually dangerous to Paulies poor ma. I think this is one of the critical moments where Paulie lost all respect for Tony (hinting to the finale).
