1 lb Jumbo shrimp
8 oz Andouille Sausage
4 slices thick cut bacon
2-3 tbsp all purpose flour
2-3 tbsp high quality butter
1 cup Old Fashioned Grits
2 cups Whole Milk
2 cups Chicken Stock (for grits)
1.5-2 cups Smoked Gouda Cheese
2 cups Chicken or Seafood Stock (for gravy/sauce)
Salt, pepper, garlic, Tony’s Creole Seasoning, Parsley
Fresh Lemon Juice
1 pinch of sugar (optional for grits)
1 small diced onion
2-4 stalks celery diced
1/2 bell pepper diced
1 tbsp better than bouillon Lobster Base (or chicken/veggie/garlic)
1 tbsp garlic paste
Lump Crab Meat (Optional) - Zábava

Try this for a plating with shrimp and grits next time. Put your shrimp in the middle and build the grits around it and then add your gravy over the shrimp

Looks delicious. Back home, I'd elevate this with some fresh shrimp from the market, I'd replace the chicken broth and lobster Boullion with a stock made from the shrimp heads. With the grits I use 2 cups of heavy cream and two cups of water with chicken boullion. I'll definitely add smoked gouda to my repertoire.
I've also seen some Cajun recipes add okra. But that's doing way too much.
I just made this recipe today and it's really good. I'm not a fan of cheese in my grits, but it was really good without the cheese.😂
If you don’t have lobster base just use shrimp bouillon powder. It’s much cheaper and goes well with any seafood dish
i used to make this with Alfredo sauce . put the afredo sauce down first...the grits 2nd ...then the shrimps on top phenominal!!!!

I love shrimp and grits and make it every so often... mine is a more simplified preparation because I don't do the vegetables or the sausage, but I do use bacon in my sauce...my grits are creamy and cheesey and I add garlic powder to them as well...delicious! I think I would like to try this recipe as well but since it's only me eating, I would have to really scale it down...

Oh, I'm allergic to shellfish and I normally don't feel no type of way. It's about seeing shellfish dishes but this one definitely hit different😢 been allergic for about 15 years now
Just make it the same way and don't add no shell fish. It will still hit trust me.
I haven't made shrimp and grits in forever. I wish you could get celery in one or two stick rather than buying a whole head. I don't use it often enough to justify buying a whole head. It would just go bad.
Some stores have it precut. Makes it a lot easier😊
