Very interesting and many thanks as always. This helps a lot. I'm currently ranking the man. I'm too stupid with him but it's fun anyways. That LVL3 fireball trap is pretty interesting. Close distance is giving me the most trouble with him. Poking is fine, but his HP is a headache to me.

@@machoortv I've done it a few times and it really works. Very useful tech! Btw, at LP fireball safe distance he seems to be able to launch LP and if blocked a second HP/EX fireball forcing the enemy to block too. Idk on other knockdowns though. These fireball trap things are very very interesting.

It's actually the other way around - use the heavy fireball up close because it's difficult/impossible to react to and the medium at medium range and the slow at the furthest range. Your heavy fireball range is just outside your st. mk. Also you probably should have covered the Ryu staple cr. mk + fireball. And last: please do a video of all Ryu's meaty setups.
This is false, try it in training you can react to his fireball and jump and get a punish counter from closer ranges

I appreciate your videos. I watched the entire 29 minutes however I think there is a lot of repetitive content and perhaps it didn't need to be 29 minutes.
It would be good if you could include timestamps so people could jump to parts they want and it would force you to think about structuring the video a bit better for the audience.

I try to make shorter recordings but every time it reaches around 30 mins. Only way to get it shorter is to read from a much shorter script instead of explaining things in detail like this

@@machoortv it doesn't necessarily need to be shorter, it could even be longer if you wanted. It's more about organizing the information in a way that more people can digest it and recommend it to people. That organization can come in multiple forms: shorter video, labeled timestamps, cutting out parts of the clip where you're trying stuff out, etc.

I know how to use his normal fireball from previous street fighters I was really hoping you would explain the best way to use his new fireball (can’t remember it’s name lol) it’s a quarter circle back, can’t figure out how and where to use it 😢
Light hashogeki looks like hadoken with less recovery so u can bait. Heavy version is plus on block and with denshin charge u get new routes with the jugles
That's a different move called Hashogeki. Maybe Machoor will make a different video on it.
All the versions can be used in various combo routes and frame traps, but that's too much to go into here.
Since it's relevant to the fireball game, I'll mention that the light punch Hashogeki has additional utility as a fireball fake in certain situations because the startup looks similar to a fireball but it recovers much more quickly. Sometimes the opponent will react by jumping in and you'll recover in time to DP them, other times the opponent will attempt to parry and you can drive rush or dash in and throw them. It can bait out other things like Cammy's spin knuckle, Zangief's lv2 super, etc. So it can be good to mix this into your fireballs to keep things unpredictable and punish your opponent when it tricks them.

a video on how to deal with characters who have air throw would be kinda cool. I struggle with that a lot being a ryu main.
I guess you gotta just keep them away and counter. I'm thinking of Juri and Cammy. You gotta make them jump and dp... Then you only air to air if it's pretty late OR you have a read. Then the air to air is either a read on an air grab from them or a hit from you.. for example jump light kick.
BUT... you really wanna make them jump so the fireball game is important while trying to predict and leave yourself "relatively" safe on counter DP.

Doesn’t work against a good modern chunli. Her flip kick hard counters fireball mid range. I feel like her entire kit hardcounters ryu.
There are moves that counter fireballs in the game and some of them are on reaction. That’s why I said Chun li is one of the worst matchups for Ryu
I struggle versus Chun Li, have yet to figure out strats for her. 10% win rate Vs Chun this phase 😅 (Plat 2 atm).
