    I have a Red Maranta and I keep it in my bathroom. It seems to be happy there. I read that they didn’t like tap water so I fill a bottle with water and then let it sit for 48 hours, open, to let the chlorine and any other chemicals evaporate. So far it’s working. I also use Liquid Dirt and Super Thrive. When I repotted mine, I added worm castings to the soil too.
    Thank you for sharing! 💜💚🪴

      Yes, I've heard that water trick works too! I'm glad your maranta is thriving :) I definitely get into worm castings - I hear they help a lot with pests!

      @@GetPlantyWithIt I hadn’t heard they helped with pests! That’s good to know!! 😊

      I've never heard of that type of maranta, but I would check on etsy - they often have a lot of harder to find plants!

    The only issue I sometimes have with my Leuconeura is that I sometimes get the brown on the tips that sometimes have the yellow ring towards the middle of the leaf. I haven't figured out if this is and under-watering or over-watering issue. When yours gets crispy edges, does it typically have a slight yellow ring around the brown part?🤔

    • @GetPlantyWithIt
      @GetPlantyWithIt  Před 3 lety

      Hm I haven't seen that before. Typically mine just gets brown on the tip and maybe there's a bit of yellow right next to the brown, but nothing near the center of the leaf. I would first check if your plant is getting enough humidity, and then maybe try giving them distilled water, or at least leave tap water out for a day or two before watering!

      @@GetPlantyWithIt that's actually what I meant, LOL. I just said it in a really weird way. So yours does get a bit of yellow right at the edge of the brown? And yes, I actually do give my marantas distilled water and my ambient humidity is pretty good in the spring and summer months, so I don't think that is the issue, but it's hard to say

    • @GetPlantyWithIt
      @GetPlantyWithIt  Před 3 lety

      @@laurenervin1404 Oh yes that happens to mine sometimes too!! When I've had it in super high humidity (like above 70%), I didn't have that issue, but that's honestly not realistic a lot of the time so I still get some brown tips!

    • @laurenervin1404
      @laurenervin1404 Před 3 lety

      @@GetPlantyWithIt yea, 70% is probably not happening, lol. I've bought 3 humidifiers this year and they've ALL died already🤦. I'm going to wait until the fall when the humidity drops and invest in a nicer one and hope it hold out longer🤞🤞

    Idk why but I don’t have the best luck with marantas :( I keep trying though!

      Yes definitely keep trying! Maybe try LECA - it makes staying on top of the watering much easier :)
