I could watch Laura and Simone joke around and build things for approximately one million years.
Thanks for giving an update to Dianna Cowern's health on her Physics Girl channel. I am so grateful for your support for her during this difficult time.
I'm just waiting for the video of Dianna getting mad at her for doing it.
Everyone needs a friend like Simone
@@GuyNamedSean I pray that video comes very soon.
Agree to I was about to comment the same thing.
I still haven't seen them together in the same room but I'm willing to accept that they are distinct beings, which complicates things because I had them on my apocalypse team but as one person.
That turned out beautiful! The custom fit for the saw handle and the scissors is the most satisfying thing I've seen all week
love to see you here! :) your content is awesome too
I couldn't help thinking how much time it took out of the process to cut that piece, shape it, sand it, stain it... And the scissors one too... Lol.
And the hammer! It’s so nice
Skjera Bagera !
I was just going to say the same thing -- couldn't agree more! :D Also, nice to see you here.
Adam Savage said on one of his videos that he wanted to go to peoples workshops and help them improve their workshops. I think Adam and Laura could colab to make workshop makeover series, or at least have workshop design tips series. Also, It would be a good follow up for this video to go more into details of the whys and hows of this setup. Like why you decided to design it as it is, what problems needed to be overcome and how you solved those problems.
Yeah!
Great ideas!
Indeed. The whys are often common. Despite folks having different spaces/resources, I suspect the approach to the solution is similar.
This
I would watch all the videos of that.
Simone and Laura together gives me unreasonable amounts of joy. I died at Laura’s straight joke at 7:13 💀
That isn't a couple?
100 thumbs up on this comment.
I had no clue that Simone isn't straight
Edit: I'm wrong, failed to properly understand the joke.
@@applicablerobot I am confused, I though she was not straight but that comment indicates she is? Or did I understand something wrong?
@@applicablerobot The joke indicates she is, "this thing and yourself is the only thing thats straight in the studio" xD
My apartment was a mess and my best friend finally said to me, “You’re stuck and I’m coming over this weekend to help you”. That is true friendship.
That is awesome of your friend, but also of you to accept the help!
I have offered my help before but when friends aren't able to take it, I found it can create some friction :|
I hope things go well!
A friend also recently came over with that exact thing! She was like "I know your kitchen is full of dishes, I know it is hard for you to start on them, I'm coming over." And while she was doing that, I cleaned up other things because I felt silly not doing anything so she helped me a lot more than just doing dishes! Also, it was a huge pile of them, so I don't want it to sound like it was a small task, especially because I know she also struggles sometimes with that
I'm a great organizer for everyone but myself.
My best friend of 50 years is currently loyally phoning me from 2,000 miles away every 10 to 15 days as my accountability partner, to check on my progress in downsizing and reorganizing my overstuffed studio apartment. She's never critical, never judgmental, always puts a positive spin on what's going on, very encouraging, and intellectually-stimulating.
I agree, that a real friend easily and happily extends a hand, whether you ask or not. They always understand the job.
Can you give me your friend's number please: I also need help! 🤣🤣🤣
It's such a joy seeing you two work together. I'm loving these more frequent collabs and the shop reno is killer!
i enjoy and appreciate them both so much. it's when they are together that i realize that English isn't even their first language. impress and inspire me all the way around
Totally agree. Thing is: Laura lives in germany. Simone doesn't. And considering that both have their own company and projects to keep alive and money to make and people to feed i highly doubt that there is much money and/or time left for flying to their other countries. But indeed, i would enjoy these collabs!
Honestly the best thing is having someone willing to help you organize when you’re feeling overwhelme. My grandmother helped me clean up my room once as a full grown adult with depression. She told me “I just want you to feel inspired.” That simple sentiment means the world.
Calling your workshop the b**thole of the house is about the most Simone Giertz thing I can think of
And Laura's "all I ask is just wipe it once in a while" afterwards was the perfect bookend for that thought!
"And you can only fit so much.. stuff in there"
Goddamn it that killed me
@@brettdufault6874 "you can only fit so much stuff in there"
You mean butthole?
It's always filled with shit and occasionally (with adequate fiber) something productive comes out of it
Laura +Simone is one of my fav dynamics. The new shop looks great, I love the green!
Yeah. I think I commented something similar on their last collaboration. They just seems to work so well together.
Often, when you get a collab on CZcams, someone's personality will unintendingly run away with the show, and the other can end up looking like a guest, even on their own channel. Simone and Laura both almost seem to have the kind of mentality where they appreciate having a friend with them in the spotlight. It's like, being filmed all day isn't what they LIKE to do, it's just WHAT they do, and having a camera pointed at "US", is multiple times less stressful than having a camera pointed at "ME".
Yea, lests ship it :DD
@@Makiexe-hg1fj nah Laura did confirm that Simone is in fact straight at 7:11
@@Livy.3 Oh, I missed that.
I did actually fleetingly wonder about that a while back. They seem so in tune with each other that it didn't feel like a totally outlandish thought.
@@Livy.3 I always assumed Simone was a I-ain't-got-time-for-that-shit-sexual.
lol love the comedic chemistry with you two. It always seems like such a hoot when you collab in videos
Simone is one of those few content creators that I actively come look after new stuff every now and then. At some point my body lacks her humor and creativity, like some kind of essential nutrient, and I get 'hungry' for more. That's how good her work is.
Please, don't starve us!

Having Laura as your partner for this project was the best idea. Now your space will remind you of your friend and this experience with her. You've baked in the good vibes!

Can we stop for a second and appreciate how awesome Laura is? Literally everything she touches turns out amazing.
Also, the synergy and light banter between you two is just pure wholesomeness.
I agree that they're an entertaining pair, but I'm not sure "wholesomeness" is how I would describe the ladies with the butt jokes. Maybe "holesome" would work.
I'd not come across Laura's channel, so that's been a cool discovery :)
@@TonyMorel I vouch for her SO hard! She is great, I learned so much just by looking at her working
Laura has a nice set of cans too if you know what I mean.
As someone who suffers from ADD/ADHD its difficult to force yourself to become 'hyper organized' like this, but if you can do it, its just so damn rewarding. Having the ability to stop, and have a place to put everything and let yourself reset from whatever your most recent hyper-focus was open up so much more of yourself to be able to keep creating without hitting that wall and stagnating. Congratulations Simone! It looks amazing and I hope to one day be able to have a space like this again.
I don't have ADHD, but I still struggle to organize, so when I manage to do so, it is the ultimate form of delayed gratification. The satisfaction (and tbh surprise) when I need something and it is exactly in the place it's supposed to be, is insane.
Hyper-organization has been one of my coping mechanisms with ADHD for keeping my spaces clean lol. I strive to have a shop like hers one day (step 1: acquire shop)
I think it's driven by a long buildup of pain and mental distress that culminates in an overhaul of your workspace. I spent Oct-Nov on a woodworking project that pissed me off so badly that I used the following 3 months to exclusively fix my shop and workflow.
on the opposite end- one of my traits as a person with adhd is hyper organization (in intervals)
Same. The "5 minute rule" helps me a bunch. Time box the effort and it becomes a much easier hurdle to overcome.
Seriously, your "style" changed quite a bit in the last years, and I only now realise that I really love it. Obviously big events in live can change who you are, but it is not always easy to also show those changes to the world, especially when you have as big an audience as you do. Thanks for being yourself and showing it to the world!!

I agree with @naturallyherb Simone its awesome for ur support and care for Dianne, it's truly is beyond words. For what it's worth, thank you for being you. All my hopes and thoughts are ongoing for her and her family AND stellar friends.

0:25 - It's *never* too early for a Laura Kampf cameo! This video was a lot of fun. And timely: I've been puttering around my own messy creative space all winter, trying since the beginning of March to get motivated to reorganize it. (I am often "running in overwhelmed circles" - 3:55 .) I think this pushed me over that hurdle. Love seeing all you fantastic human beings (and Scraps!) solving practical problems together. And what a great-looking result!

omg, I love the relationship dynamic between these two soooooo much, they are just lovely and hilarious together
Your workshop, even before this transformation, is a bastion of calm compared to my tiny workshop at the back of my house. It's like a homeless maker person moved in there...only it's me. A good friend of mine, now departed, once quipped that my shop management style is "the hand opens, the tool drops".....
That exactly captures my approach for crafting. Ok, for pretty much everything.
THIS. My tiny garage that can’t even fit my car is exactly this. I am going to have to copy the tool wall.
That last sentence describes my whole house right now…
I’m a second-generation German immigrant, queer afab, aspiring landscape architect. Seeing you two work so well together makes my heart so happy. I just started to do freelance landscaping, so I finally feel like I’m taking the steps I need to take to achieve my dream career.
Queer is a slur and afab is nothing. You're a lesbian woman? Call yourself that and stop being ashamed.

I don’t really know why, but there is something about your videos which makes me want to watch them over and over again. I’m not like this with any other CZcams channel, but your vids are so cosy and they’re perfect comfort viewing and I will sit here and watch the same ones again and again and never feel bored

I just can't watch enough of you two together, the alchemy is so clear, it brings me joy. Thanks you ladies, you rock
My garage shop is unheated and some crap has build up over the winter (stuff that should have been binned but there's a tiny bit of uncertainty about future need/usefulness). Also, my family doesn't seem to know or follow the "put it back where you found it" rule.
You and Laura really inspire me to attack my "to do" list!
Is your family my local hackerspace?
I don't care where things are. As long as they stay there. xD
@@Ceelvain My mom and dad are staying with us right now. They both have the quirk of "I don't know what this is or does. But I must put it in it's 'correct' spot and then forget where that spot is."
And they were both born in post war Korea, so they never throw anything away! My shop has horizontal surfaces where stuff just "appears".
I think Laura and Simone should do some more colabs - their combination is greater than the sum of their parts - (Aristotle apparently). Truly an emotional show - I loved it.
That shop is d.o.p.e. !!! Love the intentionality of color and layout combined. Now just keep it looking like that!
THANK YOU for introducing me to Laura, I've been really enjoying her CZcams channel! It's so fun to see you two collabing again, and your workshop turned out beautifully! Reminds me that I need to get back out in my studio and organize it...
Always love the chemistry between you two!
Sometimes you need a friend to come and kick things around to help you get out of a rut.
I can't put into words how much joy it brings me (and everyone else who watches these videos) when Simone and Laura are in the same room. I'm smiling from ear to ear. Thank you for being you! 🙂🙂🙂
This is what I THINK I'm doing every time I tear my workshop apart to "reorganize" it but I always lose focus halfway through and then suddenly I'm sitting in a room surrounded by piles of all of my junk and I get so overwhelmed by all of the work that needs to be done that I just throw everything back onto random shelves and drawers and then I repeat the whole process like 4 months later
I defeated this pattern only
1) With help
2) make a plan but only change small sections at a time. This shelf. This tools.
Sounds like you need a "Laura"..
Do you have such a person in your world..?

My favorite duo together once again. This is going to be a good one :)
Oh, how Fun! I just stumbled on this video and saw Laura and had to watch. Seeing her drew me in, I already subscribe to her channel and have been watching her for a while. I think it's great you two know each other and are friends. It was so fun to watch you interact with each other. And....the shop looks really good, love the background color. Nicely Done!
Is Laura now the Marie Kondo of Workshops 🤣 Love it so much and also I would love to have such an eye for organization and interior design, with both style amd functionality
Most of the problem is corporate pollution. Yes. Thank you so much for pointing that out. They want to get us so concerned about our carbon footprints (feetprints?) that we leave them alone. Also- incredible job on the shop! And my best to Dianna. With you on her side, she's got it made. And I'm not just squirting around the subject.
The shop looks great now! Well it looked pretty good before but now it looks better.
The fun you and Laura have on camera is contagious! Before I saw this I was just squirting by. Thanks for posting this - now I'm having a better day. Thumbs up!
Don't know where exactly to post this, but I just have to say, Simone, I have so much respect for you and what you do for your friends. You're like the lynch pin that keeps the band together. A treasure to those around you, and I hope they let you know it. Stay awesome. :)
Oh and congrats on the workshop makeover. It looks good!
I love your collaborations! You bring out so much personality in everyone around you and it comes across in your videos.
Love your content, I look forward to the day when you and Diane are able to collaborate together again.
Let her know that the entire Simone and Diane Fan Base are pulling for her to make a swift and full recovery.
A new video with Simone and Laura! Yes! It's always the garanty of a good moment, the way you're both seriously not serious or not seriously serious is really amazing!
Please keep having those moments...
I LLLOOOOOOOOVVEE YOU for going vertical!! A Chef of many years in many different kitchens i left each one with vertically integrated storage, e.g. Baking trays/dishes, any flat item. you usually want the one on the bottom or somewhere in the middle a real pain in the butthole. place flat items on their edge -problem solved and bonus- in a kitchen they don't collect 'stuff'. Thank You Simone.
You and Laura have the best dynamic! Thanks to your previous collab I started watching her videos too. It is so much fun watching you both work, and come up with creative solutions, while being so wholesome and funny at the same time!
Thank you guys for existing, much love 💕
Love your collabs! Probably my two favoritest women on the internet 🤩 And Laura is hilarious in this video 😆
Great result, well worth the effort if it's made you want to be in the shop! Mine is such a mess, been used to store stuff when I had to move out of another space and I've not managed to regain it's functionality. I think having someone come in with a fresh perspective is so helpful, it's really hard to be objective yourself and think outside the box as they say. If we are applying the butt analogy (oh, right, now I see) then I'm scared to think what my shop would be!
BTW, I really love the shaped wooden handle pegs, but I'd be too worried about breaking something and then not being able to replace it with an exact one!
Thoughts on earthquake safe, just that all those bins are right over your head. You are Lucky to have Laura there to assist you (ok lead you) the both of you are such an incredible inspiration to young girls and women.
Just my two favorite internet people together. Making the best video. The workshop looks insanely good
You guys are so fun to watch together!! This reminded me I really should work on some better shop organization. I swear, there is like zero free workbench space by the time I'm done with a project.
Laura seems like such a warm and jovial person, what a great friend!
That's quite an improvement 🙂 It's good to see you and Laura together and having fun. ❤️
Fun video … and honestly one of the best sponsorship messages around. Seriously, you could team a master class on how to embed an effective sponsorship message.
Thank you for the smiles!
Your workshop looks absolutely amazing! I love how the tool hangers fit the shapes of the tools. I do love the green color too. My only critique is I think it looks darker. I don’t like to work in dark spaces. I think I would repaint the barest walls a light color and keep some of the walls green. I love to watch Laura’s videos. Enjoy your new workshop.
Simone! Your and Laura's energy is infectious! You two are the bees knees! Also, that green is primo!
Yay! Love the collabs with Laura.
Y'alls energy is so perfectly complimentary. Every video with you both in it is a treat.
Wonderful🎉 fantastic to have found someone to help you, I’m afraid I’m still looking for such a miracle worker. Well done for asking for help.
This kind of "deutsche Ordnung" in your lovely workshop makes absolutely sense. Love you both! Greetings from Germany
You two work so well together, always fun to watch what you will come up with. Shop looks great by the way.
Great job.
Organisation is a huge part of sustainability. I cleaned out a vacated workshop (full of stuff) and have spent a long time reassembling my version of it really similarly, but way more workspace because minimising repeats on hardware stock etc.
Also like the closing statements, good to have a nice space to work it, makes it a pleasure.
The workshop I want you to want: starting with a very high 360 shelf; then a rolling ladder to reach the whole thing; inventory-shelves all the way down; a two-sided work-bench island with tool-rack between both sides under a fume hood; indirect lighting over wrap-around perimeter-counters, with swivel stools, and room under everything.
Simone and Laura! Two amazing creators on a Collab? I'm here for this!
I have a garden shed that I want to tear down and rebuild. Laura keeps inspiring me with all her building, renovation, and shop redesign projects lately. Keep up the good work you two!
A workshop upgrade is always a good idea. But patching those walls and coloring with withe color would give a workshop a really nice fresh and clean-looking start. I couldn't possibly work in so dark environment.
I'm so envious. You have the most awesome friends, and now an even more kickass workshop. Thank you for sharing it all with us!
its always fascinating when small rooms are seemingly so much bigger, just bc of going high with storage (esp. for stuff not needed on a daily basis). :)
Favourite Duo together btw! Love Lauras dry humour together with yours :D
I would pick you for my apocalypse team.
What a gift Laura gave you. Amazing to watch.
An old school sliding bookshelf ladder for the top crates would look really cool.
Watching this gave me motivation to tackle my clothes pile
So thanks!
Was delighted by the idea "just have Laura come fix your workshop" & then instantly saddened by the realization of just how unlikely that would be to actually occur. You've both inspired me to push past some miserable lows in creativity & productivity, & now I'm inspired to get my workshop situation sensibly organized. Thanks for that. P.S. You're also my favorite YT creator team-up. Perfect combo of solid, usable info & comedy gold.
Fun to see Laura there and how you both brought this project forward so well together.
Looks beautiful! Nothing more satisfying than things all lined up and tidy.
every video with Laura is a treat. I adore your dynamic together and its pretty fun to watch you guys create things, be it a funky chair or an entire workshop. i loved it.
The shop looks amazing now! You guys definitely did good.
I LOVE your work, your outlook, Scraps, just...everything!
Simone and Laura have such an amazing vibe. Love seeing them together like this! :D
Dude, I finally took the time to do my shop right and invest some money in the functionality of it a couple months ago and I love it. It’s so nice. It makes me want to be there. I’m glad you could get yours set up too. It’s such a good feeling!
A video with Simone and Laura in it is always a delight but this one was even more so. The shop turned out so dang nice and hearing how Simone wants to be in it more often now is definitely a sign of a job well done. I can't wait to see what gets made next in there :]
Also now I'm wondering if that new tool is the bandsaw Adam Savage said he gave to Simone in a video.
The refresh looks great!
I think I forget a bit, between uploads, that this is a multimillion-sub channel. She keeps it so real and honest and familiar and comfortable.
I so love when you two do a collab video! Individually I absolutely adore you both and your content, but when you two are in the same room a whole new level of magic happens.
Hi Simone, your workshop looks amazing! I'll bet that you will spend far more time in there making more awesome stuff! The Co-Op with Laura really worked out. Just like the sat-dish seat 🙂 I also loved the descriptive colour names 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome transformation! Yay!! Loving to be in your shop is game-changing. And thanks for the update on Dianna!
New setup looks amazing!
Thanks for reminding me I need to re-arrange my front room over the weekend. Simone's method of pulling at about 2 minutes and 40 seconds is hilarious. Simone, keep your back straight! I love your channel and I'm definitely jealous of your amazing workshop.
I'm so glad you are willing to say that it isn't up to the individual to improve sustainability but its up to the large coorporations.
It's up to both, everyone really. Who creates the demand of unsustainable products? The customers. If no one wanted plastic products, no one would make plastic products. Companies just makes the products that the people want. The companies can improve in how they make a product and how they manage their waste, the customers can switch their demand of bad products to better products. Blaming it all on corporations is just showing that you don't want to change and yet demand everyone else to change.
Love love love watching you make things better, and it truly starts with your personal work space. Too awesome. ❤
2:55 - everyone felt that... and has been there. :)
You guys crushed it. Not only organized but a sick paint job too!.
Please I love you! You’ve helped me with my mental health so much I love you and scraps and everyone
Oh boy new Simone video! Thank you for being awesome in your own right and for helping take care of Dianna too. 🥰
I love the relationship you two have. Y'all flow with each other so well while also bouncing off each other perfectly. It's great.
A great workshop reno and it's also lovely to see so many well known YT makers commenting. I have to confess not entirely sure of the dark green colour, but some 5k strip LED's should fix that.
You two are pure wholesomeness! Totally love your projects together!
I remain madly in love with Laura and also now with your cute bangs!
It's so lovely to see you two together! The refurbishment of the workshop become very nice!
Congratulations on your new space. I look forward to seeing your burst of joyful creativity. Go, you.
NEW SIMONE FUCK YEA I ACTUALLY GOT A NOTIFICATION LETS GOOO
Watch out. Scammers..
I know this is probably somewhat hard to do with your best friend's health in the back of your mind. All the well wishes to her and you for trying your hardest and keep doing stuff like posting videos.
