Reba and Dolly did a version of this with Dolly singing Linda's part for the anniversary of the song, the only time Dolly and Reba had recorded together despite being friends for decades.

Facts on this video: Linda and Reba were friends that is why they are singing together. Reba had to have surgery on forehead. That is why the elaborate headpieces, to hide the band aid that she had to wear. They did the ending like to make it look like they were shooting a movie. That is why Rob Reiner (a famous director) was there. At the time of the video Reba was doing some acting.

This video came out after “Thunder Rolls” by Garth Brooks had been banned on TNN/CMT country music videos. His original video showed the man hit his wife and showed the wife killing him, but had to cut those scenes from his video if he wanted it to be aired on the country music video channels.

It's been a while since I heard this story, but I seem to recall that originally they just wanted the boat to explode and that be the end of it, like it really happened. But then it was decided that that was too dark, so they added the ending where it was all like a movie.
