@@supersuzy1123are you referring to the consignment auctions? Where he sells other folks cards? I’m sure he’s not making 3-4x on anything compared to selling them on eBay.

When I'm thinking about go out and spend my money on something like this I watch your videos and changes my mind.
Putting Detmers, Gray, and Gilbert in this type of box is a sick joke at this point.
Love the drums! Also couldn’t agree more. Even those diamond cards are a joke imo. They rarely sell for as much as people think they do on eBay.

I don't understand why Panini or Topps put the players they do in some of these products. I respect any and all players that make it to the majors, but some just don't need to be in $1,800 products. Thank you for the video Jabs, always appreciated, Sir. 🙏

I suspect those diamonds are industrial grade and not worth as much as you would think

I’ve bid on a few of eBay of players I like and they rarely break 200 bucks lol

Thanks to Eric and all the sponsors. My only observation is that I don't get the appeal of having a diamond on a card. I rather have an original Jackie Robinson rookie in any condition than a card with a diamond. That just me.
You're a collector. This is more about gambling on "products." I have the time of my life building vintage Pirates team sets. This is fun... but does nothing for me.

First 1800 box was sad. A few hundred bucks, I guess, but I wouldn't pay anything for any of them. I don't like the super thick cards. Design is nice though. 2nd box was worse. Gotta have Rickey in the A's.

That Cal Raleigh RPA with the beautiful patch was probably my favorite card of the case. But I’m sure it can’t be worth much as RPA cards are everywhere these days. Nice looking cards for sure but imo not worth the sticker price.
Its panini, that patch very likely came from a jersey that raleigh never even touched.

Loved the Shawn Green card. Kinda random I know but, thought it looked nice.
Out of the two cases. My top 3 favorite cards would be the Henderson auto, Devers/Bogaerts auto, and the Tris Speaker relic.
Yeah… the only interesting cards on the entire case…

If you got 20% of your money back I would be surprised at 180 dollars per card. Jackson Kowar? Cody Ross? Tim Hudson? Shawn Green? Josiah Gray? Nick Madrigal? These should not be names in an 1800 dollar box of anything. But yet again, it's not my money. Do as you all please.
Yep. HOF's, current superstars and elite rookies are the only players that should be allowed in this product.

@@commiehunter733 Comparible signed inserts have sold for no more than 25 dollars. I would fail to call that a good pull when you are almost paying 200 dollars for the item.
No surprise, its panini. Garbage product from a garbage company. Oddly enough, I woulda been happy with the shawn green as he was my favorite player growing up.

When you break something like this product, how much are each spot? Do you take a total amount of cards and divide by how much it cost and that is how you get the cost for the breaks?

I know you can hit some absolute mammoth cards from this set… but almost $4k per case to get these cards would be a tough pill to swallow. I’d be pretty disappointed if I spent the money for this.
Gambling is more about the thrill of potentially winning than actually winning, I think. How many are actually getting value in the end result? The value comes from the thrill of the chase. People like me would skip this and just invest in what they actually want.a

I don’t get the diamond thing. Very gimmicky and diamonds really aren’t worth anything after they’re pre-owned. I honestly don’t see the value here, although the Tris was cool
pre-owned doesn't matter its just that these are very low quality and not expensive.

@@TheOldSchoolExpert Nope still disagree. Diamonds and gold hold their value very well. Pawn shops make a ton of money by selling pre-owned jewelry.

Go buy a brand new diamond ring at Zales and then take it to a pawn shop and see if they give you over 20% what you paid for it. They won't. They'll pay for the gold, but the diamond loses something like 80% of its value. I have been buying precious metals for many years. I have about 1.5 kilos of pure gold bullion in my safe right now, and about twice as much silver.
Yes, pawn shops will often give you spot or near spot for precious metals (even in jewelry) but they will laugh at you if you think your diamonds are worth anywhere near what you paid for them.
@@TheOldSchoolExpert You're confusing markup with value. The reason Zales charges so much is because of their insane markup not the fact that the stone is new. They're diamonds, they don't "go bad". A nice 1 ct diamond for example will always bring a decent price dependent on the current market. How many owners it's had is totally irrelevant.

im probably in the minority here, but ive never been a fan of this product. not even the nfl or nba versions with team names / logos. The price is insane to me for value they produce, specially in baseball. Then, the diamond is more of gimmick than anything imo. Sorry to be negative guys lol.
Difference is that you can get a life-changing card in football or basketball. A 7 figure card. You can’t get that in baseball. Not even a 5k card in baseball.
