I'm just a guy in Kansas playing around in his garage. Come along in my adventures riding, racing, modifying and repairing my small fleet of unusual misfits.

Mustie1 did a series on getting one of these running back in June.
Looks like some good progress made.
"Some very delicate machine work" grabs a grinder... made me laugh. That is something I'd do too.
Hey! that sounds good, don't get a leaky carb- plus hot exhaust will equal an eventful time😂. Great video Jake👍👍
100percent the oil injection ! That feature is sooo vintage cool stuff !
Your sense of humor never ceases to amuse me, I'm thankful for that!
The bike is in really good shape. I can’t wait to here it run.
Your knowledge of everything never ceases to amaze. Great video!
😂
You’ve got the first bike in history where the previous owner actually drained the fuel from the carb before storing it!
Got one just like that one on my 12th Christmas loved that bike more than any other I've had since cool bike man!!!
Killer score for $120 and nice work brutha.
I'm currently working on 2 1979 Suzuki Ds' a 100 and a 185. The issue with "these bikes" is, you can't disable the oil pumps and run pre-mix because on both of these bikes the oil pump also feeds the left crank bearing. Crazy I know. 😦
I am indeed the Kris Kringle of Content. Thank you for giving this bike the attention and love that it deserves. ❤️
Your lighting is damn-near perfect in this video. Great job!
I rode a Yamaha 175 Enduro to high school back in 1976 when I was a much younger man of 16 years of age. Had a few shortcuts down a powerline and through an apple orchard that was at times very muddy so needless to say I'd arrive at school looking a mess. Boy, would I get some dirty looks (pun intended) from the teachers and some students. My shop teacher however loved it.
Hey man love the video, Just picked up a 125 yesterday, Where did you get your throttle cable from? Im in need of a new one.
At last!!! can't wait for this!
BCM on the tool box. Hell yeah. Where's the link to the tool towards the beginning. I think you said flywheel removal tool? Thanks!
My 1st road legal bike was a 197x dt-100 two stroke. Top speed 70mph... down a big hill lol
Happy Tuesday Jake!
$120 for a vintage Yamaha is a crazy good deal. I tried buying a beat up Suzuki TM100 for a winter project. It looked worse that your DT. They were asking $750 and I didn't even get a chance to take a look. It sold the same day..
Anyone else notice that Jake is one wheel short of a full set?
Mentally?
@@100PercentJake well, and I'm the stack on the right in the video. Only seven tires? Where's the last one
about 10 years ago I rebuilt one of those . Mine was 1972 and I paid an embarrising amount of money for it. (700 Canadian Dollars). I was able to get a lot of NOS parts off Ebay.
Later on to get it road legal I changed all the brake tail and signal lights to LED 12 volt.
I also replaced all thos JIS (Japanese Philips) bolts with torx or hex heads.
Where did you get your JIS Bits? I've been looking for them forever!
Look up vids on servicing the oil pump. Then again, maybe you should leave well alone.
I sampled your gripe (ahh man) @ 00:10:03
What cables did you order? I need new cables for my 73 dt250
Looks like it's a 1974, the 1974 DT 125 had electric start.
I'm looking for a carb, for a 1974 Yamaha dt 250 .any help to find one is a appreciated.
Appears to be no rust. Even as a project this would be listed for no less than a grand in metro NY area.
Maybe eye/ear protection? That grinder looks dangerous!
JUMP IT!
Oh I intend to
@@100PercentJake i would repair and flip it like your bud JR. No rust, no dents, perfect seat. Classic coinage
You asked if there was anything specific to do with your motorcycle?! Yes there is, you can sell it to me!!!
so, the bike has a heated seat?
😂
They do more than 60 mph.
