Last year, Nuggets sweeped Lakers, as the latter were losing, nobody really talked about the former, as it was unrolling. Game 4 ends, nobody is really talking about Nuggets, but LeBron retiring. Now, Nuggets are champs, clear favourites, and we still hear about Lakers.
In the back of Lebron's head, he knows they have very little chance of winning this series. Denver is just objectively a level above them. So why would he come out and hype this matchup when he knows they are going to lose? It just would set him up to be clowned.
Honestly the biggest ammunition KD gave us was going to a 73 win team that already won without him. Those two titles he won are arguably some of the most meaningless titles an NBA player has ever won. Dude should have played his career out in OKC. I think he could have easily won one there with the team that drafted him, and that one title there would have meant wayyyy more than the two he won in GS

Let me adjust what SAS said about KD. He hasn't been out of the 2nd round since tearing his Achilles. Makes more sense logically when you put it into context with his health.
For the KD part, SAS is not wrong but in KD’s defence, he’s only had two legit shots runs in the playoffs with a proper team: the Boston sweep and last year in Phoenix (even though this also has an asterisk with CP3 being injured). All the other post warrior years either he was injured or his teammates weren’t there)
And now he’s gonna face the nuggets again in the second round most likely and no one really expect the suns to win so it’s kinda sad really but the media is just gonna bring one of the greatest players ever to play down even more.

Bringing up “I wonder how he feels seeing Kyrie…” pisses me off because 1. unlike Brooklyn’s GM, Cuban values and respects Kyrie. 2. KD better not feel a way at all after how he left OKC. 3. It isn’t Kyrie’s fault he went where he was wanted (like, seriously, who tf stays where they’re not accepted). Im getting tired of these ESPN speakers giving the new young talent no chance just because they haven’t had success in the playoffs. They are forgetting that they have been to the playoffs and lost which will make them learn from their mistakes and comeback hungrier. A example of this is Sacramento Kings beating Warriors in play in as the Warriors have more playoff experience but Sacramento was the more dominant team this year. I have the same feeling for the Timberwolves against the Suns
As a Clevelander no one has made me more disappointed this year than Brian Windhorst. If you're a fan of the Cavs, the man goes out of his way to throw slight jabs at us. Lebron left Miami back to Cleve because of redemption/Spurs/business. Lebron left Cleve to Lakers for WarriorsSuperteam/business/Kobe.
