A 10 minute game between non-GMs that I can understand. Great, thanks!
Ben only showing games of the highest quality on this channel.
5:38 "Black could just [play exd4] because the knight's pinned."
Doesn't exd4 lose to ...Nf6+ followed by ...Rxe8 ?
according to stockfish 16, the resulting position is minus 5 for black. dead winning because black gets the knight and rook for the queen and tons of compensation in the form of way more active pieces and the menacing passed d pawn which is really risky to take after black ensconces the bishop on e5
@@iqraathemanuel OK. Would have definitely been worth him mentioning that in the video.
Ya he probably overlooked it. The pin is obsviously not it. Guess he just looked at the first engine line and not at the board which is lame but that's modern chess just for you.
rook and knight for queen but white has no development and his king is weak, still would have been worth a mention
Am I losing my mind or something? He cant make the move Nf3 after exd4.
So, the hero's question was he never knows whether to put his W-squared B inside or outside the pawn chain when he plays Black, what should he do? ... He put it outside and did fine.
mfer is 2000 and says he "ain't very good at chess". I mean relative to a gm yeah but better than 99% of people
It's the flip-side of Dunning-Kruger. People who _are_ competent are more aware of their limitations and the gaps in their knowledge. Though they still make the rookie mistake of submitting a win for analysis. You're always going to learn more from a loss where you thought you were doing OK.
i love this guy... first chiding the people for asking asinine questions... then complaining about Ne1... and a few moves later "he played Ne1 to trade white squared bishops..." followed by a sigh of despair.... go Ben!!
I wish you hadn't shown me the Botez sisters all those years ago, they turned into such disappointments.
I miss the full videos we used to get 😢
engine gave up
Brilliant and hilarious.
Nf6+ 5:40 is also possible maybe that's why he didn't play.
The killing floor line is one of my favorite Simpsons moments.
go ben
I will never understand how this guy does not have 1 million subs.Brilliant and absolutely hilarious
and stay there
Tal's barber had a 2123 rating
Are asinine questions vegan?
No, conscious beings are harmed psychologically by such questions. 😂
@@alhfgsp conscious beings also ate meat for hundreds of thousands of years and didn't see a problem with it until the 20th century when all of a sudden it became a moral quandary. yes conditions in factory farms are horrible but think about the health of the population when making these considerations, 99% of vegans look like they are actively dying unless they heavily supplement with nutrients that aren't found in plant foods, which there are an unreal amount of. too much to say about why it's not a good idea even if you "feel bad for animals" when you yourself are an apex predator animal. sorry if this comes off as too harmful, but i know any vegan reply to this will be a quip about how butthurt i clearly am from your internet comment
@@1bird_d Lol I thought the laughing face emoji would be enough to clearly indicate humor, I'm not even vegan and never will be. The guy asked if a category of question was itself vegan, does that sound like anything but a joke? The theme of Ben Finegold videos is f*cking around, nobody is serious except you.
@@1bird_d "99% of vegans look like they are actively dying"
All living things are actively dying.
@@1bird_d Wow, answering a joke with an emotional tyraid of strung together false claims. You might be qualified to win the republican primary. Throw your hat in 2028.
It actually reminded me to go and get dog food :D thx Ben!
I wanted Ne1 to precede g4. That would make sense. Not a good move, but still.
Did ben suggest blundering the queen @ 5:37?
Did no one get the vegan gyro joke?
Black could NOT just take this because the knight is pinned!!! Ben are you a GM? Oh boy
I think Ben just missed Nf6x. Happens to the best GMs... and Ben is the best... except when he is not :)
who would think knife e1 is good,, kramnick
At about 3:57 I would resign as white. I would just have no idea how to make my position better. Also, I am terrible at chess.
AsinineGPT says show more draws... Can't spell AI without asiNINE!
please be a vegan hero haahahhaahhaha... GO BEN
Vegan shout out
Ain't very good but 2000 rated? What?
Online chess is completely ridiculous. Maybe you're unfamiliar with people? People are the worst.
if you can call them people
@@vivvpprof people have a long history of being absolutely terrible. When you see one that's generally trustworthy and reasonable, it's then you need to ask, "Is that person?" You know what I mean?
Why don't I ever see these 2100 players, my rating would be higher
I didn't realise all beer is not vegan. Cant think what animal products would be in it. Unless it is a milk stout.
Some people argue that yeast counts as an animal but, speaking even as a vegan, they need to relax.
Some craft beers use an enzyme harvested from fish guts I believe.
@@QuantumHistorian Isinglass. It's a protein, rather than an enzyme, and it's used to make the yeast clump together and settle out, after brewing is finished.
@@MrBonified66 They need to get a grip. Specifically, a grip of biology. Yeast is a fungus, not an animal.
@@beeble2003 Thanks for the correction, I'm glad I was at least half right haha
When white plays Ne1, you respond with e5 if defended adequately. But e5 ended up better where it eventually was played (only after White played more bad moves.) Otherwise I have no complaints either, performance rating 2200.
White was 2100+ ??
I think that white was doing "reverse cheating"
He was playing the moves on an old Fidelity chess Challenger and then entering them on the board. 😂
Speaking of, my uncle had given me his, I should of kept it, antique $$$ on eBay.
Like that sub joke. Anybody follow?
I thought vegan was only vegetables. Beer cannot be made without yeast. Yeast is not a vegetable, it is a fungus. Maybe vegans eat fungus, too? Are mushrooms vegan?
Vegan just means no meat and no other animal products like dairy
Mushrooms are vegan. Anything without a nervous system sufficiently developed to experience pain is vegan. Rocks can’t feel pain, because they don’t have a sufficiently developed nervous system. Lettuce lacks the neural mechanisms required to experience pain. These things just straight up don’t have nervous systems.
Interestingly, oysters are technically vegan, because, while they do have nervous systems, they aren’t sufficiently developed to experience pain, since we are familiar with the neural mechanisms required for pain to occur (and have drugs like opioids that target these known receptors etc.)
So, is Wheat a vegetable for you? How is a vegetable even defined?
Vegan means you only eat things produced by plants, or equivalently, nothing that stems from animals. So yes, mushrooms are vegan.
@@aeleron0577 He's saying (and he's right) that mushrooms are not plants, so not vegetables in the botanic sense. However, I believe vegans only avoid the Animal Kingdom, so they admit e.g. fungi, algae, bacteria...
Vegan means eating no animal parts or products. Fungi aren't animal, so yeast is fine. The issue with beer is that some beers are clarified with isinglass, which is dried, ground-up fish bladder.
