- Episode 356: Neal and Toby dive into the EU’s latest campaign against Big Tech, namely Meta and Apple, alleging these companies are stifling competition in Europe. Then, the Boston Celtics are just coming off an NBA championship, but that doesn’t stop the owners from selling the team. Plus, the FTC is looking into ‘junk’ patents from pharmaceutical companies meant to prevent generic drug makers from cutting into their business. Meanwhile, Roaring Kitty is at it again, this time making movements for Chewy.com. Next, Toby examines the trend of ‘romantasy’ novels that are flying off the shelves. Lastly, China might have a way around high US tariffs: golf carts.

Europe really is out here doing all the work, keeping these tech companies in check
Neil be hitting all the notes in the intro
The rule of law and state over corporate interest; fail to see the problem there, other than very rich people earning a little less because they have to be honest for the sake of individual privacy and international security.
Citizens over profit, any day.
EU doesn't work with the libertarian cutthroat economics of the US, arguably stifling "growth" but also has far less chance of collapse.
Thatcher came in, abandoned EU agendas and now the once renowned UK rivers are full of human waste and the government can't do anything about it.
The greed from these companies is incomprehensible
I dislike the Chinese government as much as the next American but putting a 100% tariff on a random product because their US manufacturer asked nicely is called a slippery slope
The us already slipped down that slope.
Let's Ride!
Just not on eGolf Carts!
GOOOooOoOooD
The US is headed in one direction and the EU is headed in the opposite. The citizens of one will definitely fare better than the other.
Vague as can be. Bot or just stupid.
@@davidoh14 my response was already deleted hence why my initial comment was so vague. Look up the recent court decisions hinted at but not covered in this episode.
Europe’s systems are based on Ponzi schemes.
@@myhandlewastakenandIgaveup well, I won't see a deleted comment. A "news" channel shouldn't do that in the first place. "Looking up recent court decisions" is another monsterously vague statement.
I'll stick with bot or stupid.
Are you two a couple?
lol just buds
Obama asking me for $5 during the ads was v triggering
Morning Brew: Europe is being too heavy handed in checking big tech companies that they don't own and have little power over.
Also Morning Brew: *Supports US tariffs on Chinese EVs and golf carts because the US can't keep up while still being competitive in the market*.
