I did my basic training with willie in the nz territorials 90th intake Waiouru in 89, he showed his qualities from day dot. Top bloke, we all knew he was gonna be a good soldier, we just didn’t know he would take it to the highest level. Proud of the bro 👍
5th on the list of Most Trusted New Zealanders. Hahaha, what a joke, he's fucking NUMBER #1,I don't think I'll ever trust a Rugby player over a military hero. WILLIE 4 LIFE!!
Big Love from across the ditch Willie. For all the rivalry we have between Aus and NZ in sports, so glad to have the Kiwis fighting alongside us. ANZACs.
Willie Apiata, sorry i am only posting this now, What a man. Thanks to all the ANZAC'S. Respect always to the Australian's and New Zealander's especially the great ANZAC'S of WW1 and WW2. Best wishes always from the UK.
All he wanted was to return to his unit and go on deployments which he did only for a while until a newspaper took a picture of him during an operation And published it which ruin his Career as a special forces operator
Zach t yea bro foreign press took those pics. And it fucked his career alright... He was pulled out of Afghanistan straight away after that... Not long afterwards he left the Army I think?🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
Found out matua willie was a bad ass here on youtube 🤣 i thought he just loved pig hunting. Kia mau te wehi matua you truly are a humble but tuturu man.
The SEALs are based on the SAS. The US military came to Hereford before setting up the SEALs to see what selection was like and to try to replicate it.
You dont have to show you are a hard man when you know inside that you can take care of what ever comes b4 you as i always say dont fear the big shauting guy but instead keep a close eye on the lille silent guy
He ran 112ks all while under fire while carrying his commanding officer on his back and then he returned and helped beat back the Talban what a beast lol
Are we under the confederation? What about redress of lore over introduced law? The DSM 3 or 4 if founded by the doctorate? If ink and paper are over that of the flesh desecrated? Who am I then? SAS operative? Rank G-119305? War strategist? Prodigal son or progidical daughter? Received baptism from Poland?
Josh Stakey who should you worry about more the guy with the loud aggressive voice at the bar showing his bravado , or the guy with the non aggressive voice whispering in your ear how hes going to pop your eyes out with a teaspoon .
hey john jay try reading the 1st two books by andy mcnab who was in the british sas. it took him two goes to get in. apparently in the british, aussie and nz sas its two goes then thats it. mind you while the idea is to get in theres no shame in not makeing it. shit how many dont even get invited to join.
Hes a War hero from being at war&doing a good job for his team. Its life or death, with that comes life time memories, changes, experience not normal, trauma, taste&smells only war can offer. He didnt go there for a cup of tea, he maybe a murderer to some, but a savior to otheres.ITS WAR.nga mihi tama toa o Maori
Wasn't Afghanistan it was the radical muslem. Seems they didn't declare either , kill first then claim responsibility . Non radicals who wanted our lifestyle, requested help.
As long as you can pass a medical, and security clearance (police check) and pass the required fitness level test to enter basic training you can still enter
U have to get thru the normal army first which isn't easy then it steps up to 12 more levels in the SAS if u get a chance and that's a huge if,even willy failed his first time fuk me
In the Australian SAS and the British SAS, if you fail the course you can never reapply. I guess that's not the case with the NZSAS. Good on him though. He's a true hero and we need more people like him.
'thou shalt not kill', its a commandment not an option! Now i understand why our old people found it difficult to talk about WW2! It was almost like they were cursed cos they didn't obey the 'thou shalt not kill' commandment!

Apparently - you get 2 goes - but if you quit of your own accord, that's it - you can never re-apply.
Well I'm glad I'll get 2 goes...don't know if I'll make it the first time, Navigation would probably be what got me

'thou shalt not kill', its a commandment not an option! Now i understand why our old people found it difficult to talk about WW2! It was almost like they were cursed cos they didn't obey the 'thou shalt not kill' commandment!
Not being a religions person i no problem bypassing this issue.
Rubbish, if you are going to quote the Bible, do it properly. Exodus 20:13 says "Thou shalt not murder." There is a world of difference between kill and murder.
There was plenty of killing in the Bible, as well as lots of other kinds of sinning, so I wouldn't worry about it.
My grandfather was a very religious man. Served in kayforce and malaya conflicts. The six commandment prohibits murder not killing. He often cited a time to kill, a time to heal, a time for war, and a time for peace. Ecclesaties 3.3,8. It's on his head stone.
