  • This is part 10, and the final steps, of a beginner build series for the Tamiya Grasshopper. This video is designed to be a slow and detailed overview of the build process by going over each step in detail as we paint the driver figure and parts of the body that need to be painted before we install all the decals! Again, this is the final video in this series, so we will take it slow so you can understand the build process of Tamiya products. As this is the last video in the series, I seriously hope that all ten of these videos will help you with your Grasshopper build and with other Tamiya products that you may choose to purchase in the future. It's been a blast putting this series together and I wish you all the very best with your builds. Feel free to reach out if you need further help and definitely tag me in your builds! Would love to see what you've done! And as always, thank you for your support!

    Hi buddy, just want to say thank you for this series. I haven't bought an RC car since I was a kid. I bought the grasshopper yesterday and for the past 30 hours of my life (give or take) I've been following your tutorial religiously lol. The good news is, it works great and my father and grandfather even gave it a bash around our garden. Thanks for helping me make a really wholesome memory :). The bad news is I feel my pockets emptying because I want another one ASAP haha. All the best!

      Thank you so much for letting me know! Really appreciate you sending me a note about your experience. And you’re right…your pockets might end up being a little lighter lol 😆

    Freddy thank you, I always wanted a Grasshopper as a kid in the '80's and recently bought one for my son's birthday. Never having built an R/C car before I was slightly intimidated with the build, having your videos step by step all the way through has helped loads. I''ve just finished and the car looks and drives great!

      Hi James! Thank you for sending me this...awesome! The Grasshopper is such a great car. Glad to hear it's operating as it's supposed to!! Nice work! That gearbox is pretty much bulletproof so your son should get years of worry free driving out of it.

    My first real rc car. It was indestructible. I jumped it down stairs. Upgraded the motor and wrecked it at very high speed a million times. Great first rc car.

      Agree with you!! I know a few people who had this car as there first. I think it’s the perfect first car. Although I’m just about finished building the Tamiya Mad Bull and thinking it might be my new choice!

    I forgot it came with two Bodies! That helps for a Car that doesn't come with a Driver!! 👍👍
    I would see if the Frog Driver fits. It would cover more inside junk....
    But I realize you're showing Novices how to do this by the Manual. And doing a great job!! 👍👍

      That’s a good thought actually! It would be nice if more of the electronics were hidden. But yes, for novices, so thank you!! Appreciate it!!

    Hey I really appreciated this video series! I’m just getting into the hobby and you walking me through this was great.
    I bought your bering upgrade kit too.
    I’m having one issue… my forward and reverse are opposite on my controller. I have a FS-GT5 controller. Any ideas? Thanks again

    • @FastFreddyRC
      @FastFreddyRC  Před rokem +1

      Thank you so much. Great to hear. Glad the series has been useful! On your controller there should be a switch that says “servo reversing”or something like that which will reverse the forward and backwards direction which should put it right. Let me know if you can’t figure it out.

      1 last thing: I want to build a tamiya black foot next. Do you have a bearing set for that?

    Did you spray a varnish over the stickers for extra protection?

    • @FastFreddyRC
      @FastFreddyRC  Před 9 měsíci

      I know I've heard that some people do but I've never done that. I've never worried too much about them. Even the stickers on my 30 year old King Cab are doing very well so I just haven't seen the need.
