Doctor Fate is an agent of the order. It goes a little further than magic in the DC universe. Hawkman does not naturally have super strength or invulnerability, but the material his armor and weapons are made of gives him these abilities, in addition to regeneration. In the comics, Intergang uses technology from Apokolips. If there was a continuation, the woman would probably become the Mighty Isis and the boy, Osiris, characters who share the powers of Black Adam.

When Billy Batson says it it stands for the wisdom of Solomon the strength of Hercules the stamina of Atlas the power of Zeus the courage of Achilles and the speed of Mercury who are all greek god or demi-gods. When Teth Adam says it it stands for the Stamina of Shu, the swiftness of Heru, the strength of Amon, the wisdom of Zehuti, the power of Aton, and the courage of Mehen who are all egyptian gods. Shazam was not called Shazam originally. For many years he was known as Captain Marvel. At one point there was a legal battle with Marvel comics who had their own Captain Marvel character. DC then started calling him Shazam.
Black Adam is just a nickname for him. Like SHAZAM aka Billy Batson have some of the powers of the Greek Gods: wisdom of Solomon, strength of Hercules, stamina of Atlas, power of Zeus, courage of Achilles, and speed of Mercury. Yeah I'm more of a Marvel guy too so many of these characters are unknown to me. Apparently Dr. Fate is stupidly powerful and he was very underpowered in this film. Pity, would have been good to see some real power from him. Also, I had always thought Hawk Man was similar to Falcon. Just a guy with a pretty cool suit, but apparently he's super strong and durable too. The Cyclone girl surprised me, thought she was going to get killed off with weak ass powers like hers. I feel like if Black Adam ever fought Shazam (without plot armor) he'd win easily. Same powers roughly, but it'd be a man fighting a boy. Easy win. *edit* Forgot to say, I loved the movie still! Was a lot of fun to watch, I paid to see it twice in theatres.
My main problem with this movie is that Shazam had no part in it. I think if Shazam had been the cameo instead of Superman it would have made more sense, since Black Adam is a Shazam villain.
Rock didn't want that and think about how goofy and out of place Shazam will be in this movie you can't take him serious against somebody like black Adam it just wouldn't look right . I think that's why they didn't put them in there they should have had Shazam a little bit more serious and it would have made sense for him to be in it. The lame kid was enough goofy for the movie as it was lol
Rock overrated Adam’s importance. He should’ve done the cameo first in 2 and then do a solo film. He’d still have a job and a spot in Gunn’s DC. But he scoffed at it and shot his load and blew it at box office and bad writing.
@@Humanipathic The Rock did hype up his movie too much but it's his movie that's what he's supposed to do He didn't need to make any cameos cuz it wasn't going to do anything dc was already going down he wasn't going to have enough time to do cameos and make his movie so he finally got His movie made I enjoyed it a lot of people did but it was never going to do well with the state DC was already in especially once they already announced the reboot. And James Gunn wasn't going to keep him even if it did well as you can see he's hiring a whole bunch of no name small actors so he don't have to pay him as much all this was gone once he got in anyway

That how they made him if he was like he was in the comic would be cool. But when he is billy he is normal and serious then when he turns into Shazam he is like a 8 year old. Made noooo sense. Black Adam would just laugh at him. It would be like having booster gold go against superman. U not gonna believe he a real threat cause he too goofball. And that wb fault for making Shazam like that.

imo the best DC movie. Im not a die hard fan of DC or Marvel but I do prefer marvel much more so consider how im not like super invested not sure how valid of an opinion that is since i know how serious people can be when it comes to adaptations of stuff but yea.
Underrated as hell! ❤ Fun experience in the theater 2x. Definitely not worth all the hate from CZcams and social media. Look at the people triggered in the comments over a popcorn flick. Weird Era. 🤷🤦Lol
Movie is okay, not great, but still a rather fun watch. I’ve watched the JSA fight scenes so many times; introducing more heroes (even not to what they properly deserve) was just darn fun spectacle.
Biggest issue with this movie is that they severely underpowered Dr Fate. He is way, way more powerful than Dr Strange. He's one of the most powerful heroes in DC and they basically made him a chump here. It's a decent movie, but very choppy. Black Adam was a cool character, but he isn't quite as powerful as Superman, close, but not close enough. Shame we won't get to see that showdown.

Henry Winkler, the original Atom Smasher is Henry Winkler, he played Fonzie on Happy Days. Dr Fate & Hawkman are the big hitters here. Dr Fate is essentially a God and a member of both the Justice Society of America and Justice League Dark. Hawkman is an Egyptian Prince who is immortal, he lives until he meets his wife Hawkgirl then dies as they are cursed to meet but never be together. The book this mostly takes from is Justice Society: Black Reign which is quite good. Intergang is an Earth based terrorist group of humans working with Darkseid and Apokolips. Surprisingly enough Black Adam was the original villain in David Ayer's Suicide Squad sequel before he began working on Gotham City Sirens then that was cancelled too.
Not sure if you knew this, and i’m not even sure if this is actually true. Just heard it from word of mouth. But apparently, there was push for this movie to be rated R, which is why it seems more brutal than what we are used to. I’ve heard that even Dwayne wanted to go with that route too. But then I heard they ended up playing most of it safe, so it can reach a more wider audience. Honestly I didn’t get to see this movie when it came out, because of what the media had said around on the internet about it. I finally got to watch it yesterday, and I admit it’s a really fun watch! I had minor gripes, but the Cgi was great to watch, the action scenes too! This movie should have been given more of a chance I think!
In the DC comic universe, the Intergang is a criminal syndicate 'sponsored' by Darkseid, hence the futuristic tech they have (in the comics it's Apokoliptian tech). Not sure if their origin was explained in the movie.

Hawkman's history is messy in DC comics. I wish they would have combined the story of him being an alien. The Thanagarian space cop Katar Hol and the reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian prince, that shows up through out history like the DCAU did. That would have made the story with Dr. Fate and Black Adam more likable.
I don’t get why all the characters hate black Adam so much , he’s protecting his area and not doing anything else to anyone else … like Waller threatening him at the end is just weird from them , let the guy be he’s protecting his territory , if he left and started killing good guys then yeh but he wasn’t
I saw that you are perplexed by all of the characters in this film and their powers. I'm a Marvel and DC fan, and I've been watching Marvel and DC movies and reading comics for a long time. Let me try to explain it in simpler terms. Let's start with Black Adam first. Black Adam:- In other words, Black Adam is one of the most powerful characters in the DC world. Many people compare Black Adam and Shazam to Superman because they have nearly identical powers, yet Black Adam and Shazam also have magical abilities that Superman lacks. However, the power levels of these three are nearly identical. Dr Fate:- Dr Fate is a skilled spellcaster with extensive magical knowledge and the ability to cast a wide range of spells. He can cast spells to achieve telekinesis, telepathy, energy projection, healing, and invisibility. Dr. Fate's supernatural skills allow him to fly at tremendous speeds through the air. In reality, one Marvel character, Dr Strange, has the same power levels as Dr Fate, but Dr Fate is far more advanced and powerful. Dr. Strange is a carbon copy of Dr. Fate You've probably noticed Dr Fate wearing a golden helmet and wondered what's up with it or why he wears it. That is not just any regular helmet; it is the "Helmet of Fate." The Lord of Order Nabu created the Helmet of Fate, along with two other supernatural items: the Amulet of Anubis and the Cloak of Destiny. When all three things are connected, the wearer gains the power of Doctor Fate, the chief agent of the Lords of Order. Hawkman:- Hawkman is essentially a member of the justice society and is practically immortal. He also possesses numerous powers and skills like rebirth, blessing, heavenly empowerment, and many others.
I don't think I will. The DC content has been going downhill bigtime in terms of interest and views. Each DCU film since Aquaman, dropped off big time and people are just not interested in them. Because they are so confused on what they are doing with the DCU and resetting it or whatever they are doing. I guess that's the reason. Like Black Adam is one of my worst performing videos in a while. I can't take the 20 hours of work to make a Shazam 2 reaction if the interest is not there. Just like the new Flash movie is a flop in the box office. People have lost interest in the DCU because the studios don't know what they are doing it seems.

This movie was a box office disappointment, making $393 million dollars against a $260 million dollar budget, due to reshoots and COVID concerns. Not only that, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson demanded the reshoots to the opening scene and climax, especially the mid credits scene where Henry Cavill as SUPERMAN makes an appearance, teasing a crossover that will never happen, unfortunately, as James Gunn is going to reboot the DCEU.
superman vs black adam one of great tease, but it not gonna happen… i really don’t know much about comics, but what i understand is superman is stronger physically, but super weak to magic and black adam and shazam power is magic. but anyways they both aren’t actual villain that they will never fight properly…

Yeah, but he only got hurt by a super rare element not from this earth, so unless you have that one weakness he couldn't be hurt. I was pointing out that they keep trying to use physical force to hurt him, guns, missiles, punches, etc the whole movie and Black Adam just smirked at it. It's like playing a video game on God mode where you have unlimited health, it's not as fun. Which is why I prefer movies where the hero is not indestructible. Like as far as DCU goes, I found myself being more engaged in Peacemaker and Suicide Squad than MoS, WW, Aquaman, Shazam, etc.

Also, yes, Cyclone is an actual character from DC. She has the same powers as her comic book counterpart, but her backstory is slightly different.

This movie was a box office disappointment, making $393 million dollars against a $260 million dollar budget, due to reshoots and COVID concerns.
Not only that, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson demanded the reshoots to the opening scene and climax, especially the mid credits scene where Henry Cavill as SUPERMAN makes an appearance, teasing a crossover that will never happen, unfortunately, as James Gunn is going to reboot the DCEU.
superman vs black adam one of great tease, but it not gonna happen… i really don’t know much about comics, but what i understand is superman is stronger physically, but super weak to magic and black adam and shazam power is magic. but anyways they both aren’t actual villain that they will never fight properly…

Black Adam should be evil, that's why the movie didn't do as well as they would like.
Didn’t he become more of an Anti-hero at some point in the comics too though? I’ve read this somewhere, so Legitimately curious.
@@Tenshii_Artii He did, but it was not a nice anti hero lol. To be fair though, Black Adam was only evil when it comes to perspective right? So, almost like Mr. Freeze from batman. Trying to do anything they can to bring a loved one back and be damned anyone that stands in their way.
He literally did get hurt like right away sooo your whole can't get behind himthing?
Yeah, but he only got hurt by a super rare element not from this earth, so unless you have that one weakness he couldn't be hurt. I was pointing out that they keep trying to use physical force to hurt him, guns, missiles, punches, etc the whole movie and Black Adam just smirked at it. It's like playing a video game on God mode where you have unlimited health, it's not as fun. Which is why I prefer movies where the hero is not indestructible. Like as far as DCU goes, I found myself being more engaged in Peacemaker and Suicide Squad than MoS, WW, Aquaman, Shazam, etc.
