  • Hendrick Motorsports has another driver out due to an injury. Alex Bowman will be out 3-4 weeks just races after Chase Elliott returned from an injury of his own. You might think that this is gonna keep Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon up at night. In reality, this is a net positive for their reputation as an organization.

Thanks NRF Productions for doing this video because I’ve had the same question all week, trying to understand why. It definitely makes sense, especially with Chad Knaus as the Director of competition, and Jeff Gordon, working right with RH to keep the ship riding smooth. PS: it also gives so much exposure to the drivers that fill in for the injured, in this case, both times with Josh Barry, who with his success in Xfinity + solid driving filling in for Chase Elliot & now for Alex Bowman, it opens the door for him to finally have opportunities in Cup, grinding his way up w/ the full endorsement and support Dale Jr. (Who I’m 100% sure played a role in this choice for HMS over others!) w/ his success in the NASCAR weekly series, and then moving up to the Xfinity Series, continuing that consistency, leading to this golden chance for him to impress & garner so much interest in Cup in the top equipment.

It’s amazing that some sponsors go outside of NASCAR and like you said other teams - KBR, Kaulig. I started watching NASCAR in 2006. Knew some names and had to pick a driver. Because I really disliked the service at Home Depot for spite I picked the Lowes car. No JOKE! I had no clue who Jimmie Johnson was and who he drove for. In 2 years it will have been 20 years for me and 9 Championships so far.

@@anandguruji83 A they finally got Larson in 2020. But he wanted to race other series and Jeff finally convinced Big H to open up and let the drivers run other series as they like.
