      Thank you Mary! I love this fabric too, it's a really nice colour. I'm so glad I got around to making this top as i've been wearing it so much and it really is so comfortable. xx

  • @marywallace5248
    @marywallace5248 Před 2 lety

    Angela, your top is lovely. I think the puckering at the neckline is caused by you stretching the bias binding too much. You are probably used to doing that on stretch fabric but you don’t need to on a woven. It still looks lovely! I agree with both you and Karen about the hem. My sagebrush is waiting for me to chop off some of the hem!

    You should try Sam from Frugalisama's tutorial on making continuous bias binding from a 9" square of fabric. Its so fast and easy and wastes way less fabric than cutting the bias strip.

    • @sewlittletime
      @sewlittletime  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Linda...I watched her video awhile back and did give it a go but I went wrong somehow and it wasn't continuous lol. I'll have to give it another try 😊 xx

    It turned out really cute! I have it cut out from some turquoise fabric with white polka dots, but I wont get to sewing it until the new year because I have a lot of christmas gifts to sew up and I will be lucky to get them all made up.

    • @sewlittletime
      @sewlittletime  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you Linda, your version sounds lovely! I love a polka dot. Wow yes you've certainly got your work cut out if you're sewing gifts, I've done that before and it does take time doesn't it. Good luck xx

      @@sewlittletime yes but its fun. The only problem is that last Thursday I woke up with an extremely painful right wrist and hand and its gotten worse each day until today when I figured out the right combination of pain killers to ease the pain up enough to be able to use it a bit. I've lost almost a whole week of sewing. I did do a tiny bit, but then I had to stop. It hurt too much. Hopefully it will start getting better now. The funny thing g is that I didn't even do anything to my wrist. I must have bent it in an odd way in my sleep or something.

    • @sewlittletime
      @sewlittletime  Před 2 lety +1

      Oh no what a pain literally!! I've had that happen before where I think I've trapped a nerve and you just have to wait until it rectifies itself. I hope you're able to catch up and that the pain now eases xx

    Hi Karen, absolutely love yours and Angelas version of the sagebrush top. I have only just made this pattern and agreed with all you said about it. I used a viscose fabric. I also followed the tutorial from Cath craft on reducing the fullness of the sleeves.

      @sewlittletime  Před 2 lety

      Thank you Mary, it's a lovely pattern isn't it. I'll definitely be making more. If I use a sturdier fabric, I may well alter the sleeve piece too :). xx

    Fabulous job! I love your collaborations :) Thye really feature the differences of fabric choice in a garment. Yours looks stunning on you :) I am on an Anthea Blouse kick and LOVE the puffy sleeves. Just a little challengning to wear in the cooler weather because they hardly fit under my cardigans to keep off the chill! I haven't tried a Friday Pattern Company yet...but I am glad to hear they are straight forward :) Great point about the gathering. I can imagine how challenging that was! Nice work!

      Thanks so much Cyndy, I love a pouffe sleeve too, but yes a little challenging under a cardi lol. Yes you must try the Friday pattern company, I really like them. Keep an eye out for our next blog as I'm excited for that one too...pattern already cut out ready to go 😄, so hopefully it'll be this side of Christmas! So glad you like our versions, I'll definitely be making another, I find it so comfy to wear and feel out together in it xx

    Hi Karen, Love your top. I have just watched both videos and was wondering if you did have pulling around the neck where bias binding is as Angela has had. Thanks, Dee x

    • @sewlittletime
      @sewlittletime  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Dee Dee, thank you very much :). No I didn't, mine is completely flat. I think Angela may have overstretched the bias tape or it was a bit stiffer than mine to get that pulling. xx
