Prestwick Airport -Saxon Air Challenger 605 G-RANE- (Former Lewis Hamilton Jet) 11/03/2019

On the 11/03/2019 Saxon Air Challenger 605 G-RANE landed/Departed Prestwick airport. This aircraft was formerly owned by F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. According to media reports their was some issues with the VAT/Tax when the aircraft was imported to UK via the Isle of Man. Whilst departing the aircraft rejected takeoff with APU oil pressure problem, taxied back on to stand and safely departed a short time later.

I didn't realize that his plane was registered "LCDH" ... that's really neat. He used the initials of his full name; Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton.
It would make sense, then, that the next owner wanted to change it.
Very nice footage. A great clip combining two things I really enjoy .... aircraft and motorsports :)

Hey Ghostwave - G-LCDH was re-registered G-RANE - it is one and the same aircraft.
There were no issues with tax - the aircraft just had to land at the Isle of Man to qualify for a lower rated VAT regime - perfectly legal and legitimate and many do the same. The only issue was caused by media trying to stir up more begrudging dislike against Hamilton.

hey man just wanted to let you know that G-RANE is not lewis hamilton's jet he sold it to a charter company. when he owned it the registration was G-LCDH
