Once again apolgies on the video quality. For some reason I just can't get my iPhone to focus when filming TVs. I'm going to switch to my Regular Camera in the future. Unfortunately I do not have time to reshoot this video.

Question for you. I’ve got a qm8 that’s got a dead spot and is getting returned. I have a u8k sitting in the box. Befween the two which did you feel was better?
I mostly watch movies but some gaming. I have a couple oled lg and Sony’s and even on those have never found Dolby Vision worth while for gaming or movies. To dark and washed out across the board. I like the brightness of the qm8, but lots of ghosting with games, and flickering in dark areas gaming. Plus it’s got a dead spot and I haven’t been impressed with motion I’ve noticed lots of artifacting. Hoping the u8k gives similar brightness in hdr and sdr without ghosting.
Also how’s blooming between the two? I have been very impressed with blooming on the qm8.

QM8 was far better than the U8K. The black levels were a lot deeper than on the U8K. I had to really fuss around with lowering the Black Levels on the U8K and eventually you get decent blacks at the expense of Crush. There wasn't a lick of Bloom on the QM8. I just had issues with the Dolby Vision on it.

@@MichelleAlexandria-EM Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and opened the u8k. I agree the qm8 does a good job in the contrast area, which is the opposite of what rtings gave for ratings. They said the u8k had better contrast that the qm8, it doesn’t appear that way to me. Although I do think part of that is matte vs glossy screen, because I don’t notice blooming on the u8k either. However, I will say the clarity and motion are much better on the u8k. I was watching the same movie on one and finished it on the other last night. The qm8 had horrible judder/stutter while the u8k was nice and smooth. My biggest complaint on the u8k is the cheap remote.

Hey Michelle , sorry the journey is going this way .. I’m ready to buy my next gen tv also any day now .. I just can’t make up my mind .. it’s of course the
lg c3 83, G3 77 , S95C 77 or Sony A95L ( which I won’t buy for that two hdmi 2.1 stupid stuff) .. I don’t understand some of the decisions these companies make in their executive board rooms .. it’s mind boggling..
I wish u the best of luck .. wish me luck 🙏🏽

it's been frustrating. I think the G3 is the best one out of all of these because it's the most well balanced, frustration free TV and while it's on sale most bang for your buck. After that I'd get the S90C over the S95c and at $2,499 for a 77 inch, that's great value and performance. But I just found the Samsung experience really buggy and the image while nice is flat.

Ugh thanks a lot for your expertise 🙏🏽 good luck with the journey of tv searching, I definitely get how frustrating it could be . lol I was chilling watching all TVs reviews each year but it’s time now

It always takes a lot of adjustment to get a decent picture out of a television. And Dolby vision is great when done right. The problem is its not always done right. But it's not a fault of the tv

I agree with you on DV Michelle, I watched SDR, HDR10 and DV on my Hisense UX and DV was just terrible picture quality, it's like someone put a veil over my screen, less sharp, more faded. Checked the same on my QDOLED it still seems HDR10 and SDR are still better than DV. I don't prefer all of the cinema modes as well, I want my tv to pop.

Dolby vision causes it's own problems of conformity, as everything from the net speed, content to the player to the cable to the TV or projector, has to be compatible to work. Plus if it has its own enhancements, nobody is ever going to have the same experience. You are spot on with gaming support, as 4k content is at best in video sequences. The most honest review I've seen regarding these two points. I honestly think when you become so anal about picture quality, you end up watching the picture not the film, series or game, just wet fruit with a black background and fishtanks 🙃
