I asked a liberal theologian how he reconciles Romans 5's mention of the sin/death through Adam issue and he explained an interpretation of the Genesis curse as merely a spiritual death, not what caused physical death. My retort then led him into the weeds of explaining a kind of booster shot theory of how regularly partaking of the tree of life was the only thing keeping Adam and Eve miraculously immortal until they were kicked out of the garden and halted from eating it ever again. I'm amazed at the theological acrobatics people rejecting the plain interpretations of Genesis are willing to go through in order to keep their evolutionary Asherim intact on the metaphorical mountain tops of what beliefs they most revere.

By excepting man's word and an old earth you negate the reason for the cross.
Man could not be responsible for the sin, death and destruction, as it was already there, when he arrived, so we do not need Jesus to save us from sin.

When I was a kid, I used to believe the Earth was 6000 years old.

Awesome! You might also be interested to look into the fact that the Masoretic text which all the modern translations of the Bible still rely on drops a 1 at the beginning of the listed ages between Noah and Abraham when those men fathered their sons. The Septuagint, Samaritan Pentateuch, and Dead Sea Scrolls have them all being over 100 with that 1 added, thereby increasing the years to a more believable extent for when the repopulating of the world went from Noah's 8 to the Tower of Babel's number that divided up into all the different original languages. The likely reason the Masoretic drops those 1's in the ages of fatherhood is so as to discredit the Hebrews claim that Jesus is a rightful priest in the order if Melchizedek. A circulated myth in Jewish lore that cropped up to defy that claim in Hebrews was to suppose that Melchizedek was in fact Shem, the son of Noah who is a forebear in the line of Levitical priests. But the only way Shem could have lived long enough to interact with Abraham as Melchizedek is in the Masoretic version of the Noah to Abraham genealogy that shortens by dropping those 1's. The fact that Josephus, the Septuagint, and the Samaritan Pentateuch all agree with the longer genealogy and predate the oldest Masoretic copy by a millennium or more has me at this point convinced that prevailing Biblical chronology models are still several centuries shy of the total length of years since Adam. Never stop being curious, sister! Blessings and peace to you always.

@Nils-gi5bv "Separation of church and state" is a phrase that doesn't exist in any founding document, nor have mention in any of the minutes of the documents' deliberations. The Constitution protects establishment and free exercise of religion from government restriction. It does not even hint at government subsisting on some fictitious version of morality formed independent from religion. All morality comes from religion and making any just laws without religious insight would be impossible. Whenever a nation attempts to extricate its rule from religious insight, the state becomes their own god and a new state religion then prevails. The first congress as one of their first acts of congress approved the printing of a Bible explicitly for use in schools. And they passed the resolution unanimously. So let's not pretend the founders ever intended a removal of religion from consideration in governance.

All of the rock dating methods rely on the assumption of a daughter isotope baseline in order to deliver millions of years. All of them. I'd be interested to have anyone show a single example of a radiometric test that allowed for the possibility that there were already daughter isotopes present at the time of metamorphosis. The reason I can assure you such an allowance doesn't exist is because that likely reality nullifies the entire premise of decay as a dependable clock. If you want to say a clock reading 12:00 ticked for 6 hours to get there, you have to start with the assumption that it began ticking at the 6:00 mark. As opposed to allowing for the assumption that the clock was already set at 12:00 and has not started ticking at all, or perhaps started at another time and there is no knowing how long it ticked. The testing done at Geocron Labs in Massachusetts or anywhere else could all be cited for using these assumptions. It isn't even a contested matter.

But as the clip mentions, nine out of ten dating methods don't back up millions of years that the cherry picked one in ten methods deliver. And as to how daughter isotopes already exist at the time of cooling, that is patently obvious when the Mt. St. Helens eruption's lava dome rock is put through blind tests and already contains supposedly millions of years' worth of daughter isotopes on what only cooled in our lifetime. Same with any rock tested with a known age of cooling. The prevailing explanation for these is that until the rock has been cooled for long enough, it won't deliver accurate results when tested...right...

If our surest indication of a spiritual God's identity is His demonstrated power over the spiritual world including death itself, Jesus is the chief cornerstone to look to for our hope and evidence of the Bible being the true revelation of the Truth.
      1 Corinthians 15:17-21
[17] And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. [18] Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. [19] If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
[20] But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. [21] For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.

I do not think YEC, (Young Earth Creationist), really read or trust the Bible.
    1) The Bible says the Earth is old, see in Deut 33:15, Habakkuk 3:6, Hebrews 4:10 and Gen 2:4
(YEC rather than trust the Bible, trusts Ken Ham, and says the Earth is young, 6,000 years, error in understanding the word day-yom) Hebrews 4:10 we are in day 7, day 7 is long then days 1 to 6 must be long.
    2) Romans 5:1-21 says sin caused the death of mankind, to "all men".
(YEC rather than trust the Bible, trust Ken Ham, and say that somehow sin causes animals' death.)
    3) The Bible says the physical laws are fixed and unchanging, see Jeremiah 33: 25.
(YEC rather than trust the Bible, trusts, Ken Ham, and says physical laws differ in the past)
    4) Bible says, it is God’s nature that He will never lie or deceive us. Hebrews 6:18, Num. 23:19, Rom. 1:20.
(YEC rather than trust the Bible, trust Ken Ham, and say God made things to look old that are not, like making light waves in motion and more).
    5) The Bible says the Earth is old, day can be a long time span. The Bible says God specially created animals after their own kind, Gen 1:21 - Gen 1:25-26, (not by evolution) and specially created mankind (not by evolution).
(YEC rather than trust the Bible, trust Ken Ham, and say the Earth is young, 6,000 years, and that there are only two views: Ken Ham YEC and atheism evolution. Truth there are many old Earth Creationists, that do not believe in evolution, Ken Ham says they do not exist.
YEC stop putting your faith in Ken Ham and his friends and read and trust the Bible.

They have put their faith in Ken Ham, they trust websites that claim the Earth is 6,000 years old. It is very sad. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. " Psalm 19:1 The universe is 13.8 billion years old. The Bible tells us the earth (4.54 ± 0.05 billion years) is old. Deuteronomy 33:15 and Habakkuk 3:6 "ancient mountains". Hebrews 4:10 we are in the 7th day, the day of rest. If day 7 is a long time span (since the creation of mankind), then days 1 to 6 must be a long time span. In Genesis 2:4. The entire time span of God’s creative activity is called a “day”. The Hebrew word yôm, translated “day,” can be three distinct definitions. daylight hours, 24 hours or a long time span.

While the Gospel is not conditioned on the days of creation, all liars will have their part in the lake of fire. So it soon becomes obvious that as with everything to do with the LORD, we need to speak the truth. If God is saying one thing and you are believing and saying differently, then you are making God out to be a liar. This is blasphemy.
You can put your trust in Jesus for salvation as is required, however, if you believe false theories, teach falsehood and do not repent, you will find yourself in the lake of fire. This is Biblical. Not legalism, biblical truth.
For those of you who want to come argue, I am not teaching a works based salvation. I am teaching what is obvious from reading the Bible. As a believer, I am fully aware of Salvation by Grace alone. However, grace is not a license to sin, Hebrews makes it all very clear. Sin is not just actions, it is what we teach, say and our beliefs as well. We either believe God at His Word or we don't. No way around it. Either we are saying God is telling the truth or he is a liar. These matters are serious and should not be joked with.
Those so called Christians who believe in and teach evolution are false teachers and liars. They are practising unbelief. Facts. It can't get any clearer than this.

"What is obvious from reading the Bible"? So, you haven't heard that people (mostly Christians) have been arguing about what the Bible means for 1600+ years? (It wasn't compiled until the 4th century CE) You didn't know that people have been killing each other over their differences about the meaning of their silly book for 1600+ years? Obvious? You have a future as a comedian. Evolution is true and has mountains of evidence to back it up. Just because you refuse to acknowledge that, doesn't mean it's not true.
