Today, the football culture is far more professional & also the athletic side of the game is so much more advanced than in his era, with a faster tempo, faster closing of spaces & faster closing down of the player in possession of the ball. He would have to be in a top, top, condition, to survive in the modern game. If his recreational life was anything like it was in the late 1960s, early 70s. He wouldn't gotten past 20, as a top player in the modern game.

I was at the first game (Ajax - Feyenoord 0:18), behind the goal to the right packed like sardines. I do not know why they did not play that game in the Olympic stadium as that could host 2x fans. It was strange to see Cruyff in the opposite team, it is a move only he was able to pull off. They also had Gullit. We had Koeman who was not yet on target those days and were lucky to get a draw (2-2) but were eliminated in the replay. But we beat Feyenoord 8-2 in the league that year :-).
