Its so nice to see you, taking your time to explore India and going wherever you wanna go. Just a little word of advice, although most people in India are really friendly, kind and wholesome there are some who are not, just like any other country in the world. Amongst 1.4 billion people there's bound to be some bad apples here and there and in your travels there's a big chance that you'll eventually come across some of them and that's why you should always be careful.
I wish you good luck and hope that you'll enjoy your stay in India. 🙂🙏

Also Try the Dosa, Vada, Samabar and filter coffee for breakfast, an authentic south India" meals" for lunch, try Parotta and Chicken for dinner. Mr Sivakumar....For people in Europe or North America, a very cold place is where you have temperature like minus 20 degrees Celsius. Russia can be far more colder. So please don't say that North India can be very cold. North India does not come anywhere close to Europe (particularly Russia and Scandinavian countries) or North America. Indian winters (North or South) will most probably be mild summers for people in western countries. I speak from experience.

@@Bostonite1985 I wish you visit the Himalayan range of India.....Heard that the US soldiers who came here for joint excercise with their Indian counterparts suffocated from hypoxia due to worst climatic conditions. It seems like north Americans are not well suited for extreme cold and high altitude...minus 20 degree Celsius is the temperature which you experience it in the summer in these regions.... In winter, no people can visit those places except the military.

No part of Himalaya is in Tajkistan, it is a desert.
Greatest share of Himalayas is clearly with India !! :)
      Here are some figures:-
      India:
I will start with states which are located on Himalayan range.
Jammu & Kashmir and ladakh combined: 222,236 km2
PAXTAN has no rights to claim Himalayas..... Kashmir belongs to India.
      Arunachal Pradesh: 83,743 km2
      Himachal Pradesh: 55,673 km2
      Uttarakhand: 53,566 km2
      Meghalaya: 22,429 km2
      Manipur: 21,081 km2
      Nagaland: 16,579 km2
      Tripura: 10,048 km2
      Sikkim: 7,096 km2
That makes a grand total of 461,650 km2 (Ignoring some smaller areas in other states)
      Nepal:
      Area of Nepal = 147,181 km2
Roughly 75% of area of Nepal is in Himalaya. So that makes the area of Nepal in the Himalayas = 110,387 km2
      Bhutan
Total area of Bhutan: 38,394 km2
      China
Now as far as China is concerned it mostly consists of Tibetan Plateau which is technically not a part of Himalayas. Though some parts do come under Himalayan range but they are not as large as the Indian or even the Nepalese part. They are cold desert either.
As a conclusion India and Nepal has some of the highest peaks in the world.
      Example:
      Nepal - mount Everest.
      India - mount Kanchenjunga
      Mount K2 as well

Please visit Kailasa Temple at Ellora Caves in Maharashtra India. It's considered greatest architecture in history of mankind, because the way it was built seems unbelievable for even today’s time. The temple was built at least 1300 years ago. No stone or nothing was added they carved a mammoth Granite rock/mountain with intricate details. The Kailasa Temple is notable for its vertical excavation-carvers started at the top of the original rock and excavated downward. At least 400000 tonnes of stones have been removed in the process. About 7000 workers and their future generations worked for 135 years. One small mistake and you have to rebuild the whole temple because it's carved into the rock without adding anything, that too up to down.

@@TwoMadExplorers It has secret underground tunnels believed to be leading to underground city which is even more mysterious and government have totally locked that down and no researchers are allowed to go inside.
During the reign of Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb, the temple was ordered to be demolished along with other temples nationwide.
For the task in 1682 he sent over 1000 labourers especially to destroy Kailasa Temple; they worked for over 3 years, but could barely manage to disfigure a few statues here and there. It's the solid granite rock that's made so hard to destroy.
Despite of his repeated efforts to tear down Kailasa Temple, Aurangzeb did not found success. Finally he gave up on destroying this temple. This is the same person who has destroyed thousands of ancient temples in India but he could not destroy this one so you can understand the magnanimity of the temple.
other than Kailasa Temple there are 99 other cave temples there (100 total) of which 34 are open for public viewing. whole temple complex known at Ellora Caves.

There is a St. Thomas mount, where the Saint is buried I think. You have to climb the hill to get to that Church. You can get it to it by the local train or the newer subway. It is near the airport, you can see the flights take off. Evening is best, cool breeze up in the hill.

Great video folks. I spent most of life studying in Chennai and then moved to Canada. Glad to know that you both had a good experience in Chennai. There was no metro from the airport to the city at that time when I grew up there as a kid. Glad to hear that is available now. Safe travels

Welcome to my hometown. It's a very interesting place for sure, beaches, malls, cafes, lots of hidden restaurants. The best part of south India is the little communities that we have, the sports we play but it's not available to foreigners. However, I think south india is in general very liveable.
Also, even though I lived in Chennai for a long time, I find north chennai to be overwhelming. I can't stay there for too long. The south parts of Chennai, especially in the East Coast Road, Adyar, Alwarpet, Mylapore Velacherry is much nicer. I also like the little cities in Tamil Nadu - Kumbakonnam, Tanjore, Trichy, hill stations like Ooty and Kodai-Kanal. Maybe try to visit Mahabalipuram and the Ramana Ashram in Thiruvanammalai (i once rode a motorcycle there - it's 200km away - you can see the Gingi fort on the way and climb some hills too)
