- An Iowa man who went missing in November has been found dead, according to his family. KCCI reports the body of David Schultz, 53, was discovered this week in a field not far from where his semi-truck was found abandoned last year. While law enforcement has not confirmed the identity of the remains, Schultz’s family reportedly says he was identified by the boots he was wearing. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.
I would like to know how his body was found not that far from where his truck was and law-enforcement was unable to locate him for six months.
Exactly I totally agree with your comment
@@chynabarbieeeeee you’re not curious as to how long enforcement couldn’t find this man for six months and he was not that far from the truck?

yeah, it's not making sense
Given he was located so close to his truck, it’s especially sad he wasn’t found sooner. So sorry for the family.
I remember seeing the inital report on this. His parents looked so so devastated.
The only silver lining is they can finally bring him home. May his soul rest in peace 🙏
At least he was found may he rest in peace
Rest in peace David
I wonder if a lot lizard was responsible

Sad when children lose a parent RIP.
Condolences. Sorry for your loss. ✌️
So sad. Rest in peace David
Becareful who you pick up to help on the road, can be very dangerous for your safety
If they wanted to rob him they would have taken the truck. I dont think it was that situation.
Jeez I picked up couple hicthhikers in Cali including couples with a dog with them in a rainy night
@@draz9765you're good person, be careful out here because people can be unnecessary evil to good people.
First, there was no indication of any strangers in the cab of his truck. Second, they found his wallet, complete with credit cards and a fair amount of cash plus his cell phone in his cab in plain sight. It would seem that robbery was not the motive, if there was even a crime. Personally, I think he probably had a medical emergency--maybe a slow brain bleed, that left him disoriented (truck was left on the road and pointed in the wrong direction for the route he should have been taking), he finally parked right where he was, got out and started stumbling around looking for help. If the brain bleed was towards the front of his brain, it may have caused pressure on one or both optic nerves, causing severe visual disturbances so he couldn't drive any further.
@@draz9765Having that much trust in people can lead you to the same fate as this guy.

My prayers to the fam and kids 🙏
Something isn’t adding up here. He “wasn’t that far” from the truck but the law couldn’t find him since November? Did they not do any searches near the area of last known location? Something really fishy is going on here.
Who knows
I just said same exact thing.
I'm so sorry!! Prayers and love to you all!
🙏❤️ 😇
How is it possible not to find his body at the same time as the truck? That's flat land and even if something was grown there, they should have done an aerial search and would have found his body or noticed some of the field flattened. People don't care as much anymore I guess. . Geez, I remember doing a vehicle accident about 20 years ago at about 1am in the morning. I saw a long type of skid mark in the dirt near one of the cars. Not from a car not from anything I have seen before. Since it was a farming area, it could have been done by a tractor. I showed the police officer as I was the only first aid personnel with the fire station and floating between the two cars, the ambulance officers were working on the other car. This is after we were at the scene for 30 minutes, the police officer pulled out his torch and we both followed the skid mark to a tree. It stopped at the base of the tree. The police officer then shone his torch up the tree truck slowly, then about 8 feet up the tree was the body of a young man covered in dust and deceased of course. We both looked at each other and our faces went pale. After that night, we always searched a greater distance for bodies, etc because people who don't wear seat belts or when cars slipt go flying even with a seat belt. We found this happened 3 times in the 20 years of volunteering for the local fire station (which is a volunteered service).
Look at images, note the ground cover in the field.
I remember seeing this on @JLR investigates his wife was on so sad R.I.P David prayers for the family 😢
Heartbreaking
They didn’t have dogs?
Awfully suspicious death! Hope they find out why he was out of his truck and in a field.
This is sad. Hearing his wife mourn was just heartbreaking too. At least he was found though. RIP to David and my condolences to his loved ones.
So how long will it be till inside edition say how he died?
Probably got murdered sadly I would say
Im just saying. If they said they identified him by his boots how do they know it's him? It's horrible a family lost someone but don't they usually identify someone by dental records not pieces of clothing?
Yes. Autopsy should run dental records and if necessary DNA and if possible at this late stage toxicology.
At end of video, it says autopsy will be done 0:55
If you can find dental records, not everyone goes to the dentist often and even if they do the question remains how long does the dentist hold on to your records before they destroy them.
My condolences my Dearest 💗😘
😢so sad 😢 im so sorry for wife n kids especially 😢

Too bad!
My condolences to the family..May he rest in peace 🙏
Does anybody know what happened to the pigs? Were they stolen, or left in his abandoned truck?
It may be they were stolen because nothing was said about them when the truck was found. But since we don't know that for certain, we'll have to wait and see what the police say. 🤔
They were found in his trailer. His cell phone and wallet complete with credit cards and a fair amount of cash were found in the cab of his truck, lying out in plain sight. Robbery was apparently not the motive for the crime, *if* there was a crime. Personally, I think he probably suffered a medical crisis such as a brain bleed.
Delivered the next day.
That is unfortunate.
My condolences to the family.
My heart goes out to the man’s family

Aw God Bless stay safe
ridiculous, clearly no one cared enough to look for him.
Law enforcement was out in force. Volunteers from that very rural, low population area were out every weekend for weeks looking for him. A group of volunteers called the Cajun Army based way down in Louisiana has been looking for him at least once a month for the last several months and covered over 100,000 acres--but since they had been told by the sheriff's department that the area where his body was found had been covered, they did not look in that area. Hundreds of people cared so much about finding him that they volunteered tens of thousands of hours to search for him through some truly miserable Iowa winter weather. People cared a great deal.
@@GrainneDhub-ll6vw I see appreciate the response. Having seen other high profile missing persons completely missed by law enforcement, for some reason it doesn't surprise me they missed it. Next time, it should be considered a starting point.
@@kevhans1 His body wasn't really all that close to where his truck was abandoned--it was found approximately 1.5 miles away. That means that the search area would have been a 3 mile diameter circle around the truck, which incorporates a circle of close to 9.5 miles in circumference and just over 7 square miles. Sure, 1.5 miles isn't far if you know the beginning point *and* the end point but when you have to spiral out from the beginning point, that's a lot of ground to cover. SARescue is difficult but you have the advantage of the victim usually able to make some effort at being noticed. SARecovery is tough because the victim is no longer able to aid the searchers.
SEARCH DOGS USED?????????

That's so mess up
Something seems sketchy
Just heard about this case on David paulides missing 411 rest in peace from one truck driver to another
Hopefully they can find forensic evidence
No foul play. None. Additional autopsy results forthcoming. Like TOXICOLOGY

Was this nat even searched for? He was found in an open field nor far from his truck? WTH?
If it is true that he was 1.5 miles away , that would be a 3 mile diameter circle Search area. So not really "close ".
Whats up with the bodies discovered all across America 🤔🧐
😢 sad News.😢
Now the big question: how did he end up like this? Cargo larceny? A robbery? An ambush on him or his load?
This story wasn't boaring.

It's gross and sad to think the best way to identify someone after 6 months of lying dead outside in a field is to see what boots they're wearing...

Hi
I do feel bad for her & the kids. Wish David was found sooner. 😔
There is a whole lot that doesn't make sense. He was very late to pick up. (The piglets) It is said he was at a drug dealers house before pick up. I don't know if that is true or rumor. Irregardless, he is a brother to us truckers. RIP BROTHER 🙏
One out of a million stories like this in the whole world. Only one makes the news.
Exactly. No one cares.
That's pretty cold. Maybe you don't care, but his family and loved ones do. I don't know any of these people, but I care. My condolences to the family and to his wife and children who were waiting for any news to bring him home so they can lay him to rest.
Put yourself in his family's shoes, then you'll care about other people... because it could happen to YOU TOO.
@@augustrosepriv892. It could happen to any of us. We would just be one out of that million.
Hi people (rip)
What I remember when I first heard this story a couple months ago was that he went to kiss his other kids and wife goodbye as he was leaving on this pig haul, and the other young son was in the next room and said "what about me, dad?" And that man replied to the effect of "I don't have time, bud, I've gotta go" and walked out, never to be seen alive again by his family. That angered me. Folks, NEVER leave without properly telling your spouse and children you love them, complete with a kiss for each. It takes mere seconds but is priceless. You simply don't know what will happen next and you can lose your life at any time, like he did so unexpectedly. That poor boy has to live with those last words from his daddy for the rest of his life. Shameful. I'm so sorry about what happened to him but let this be a lesson to all not to be in such a rush all the time and take your loved ones for granted.
Missing 411
I thought this was about Doctor D the wrestler
Same but this guy is a trucker while Doctor D was a bounty hunter.
@VOAN Doctor D started driving a truck delivering Cotton not too long ago he mentioned it on his episode of Dark Side Of The Ring
My question would be what caused him to leave the truck, doesn’t seem there was a money advantage as it’s just pigs, making it seems u likely for a cash reason. It may be the wife but from her tears and expression it seems unlikely. This may be a tough case till a autopsy
So a very, clearly obvious foul played murder has been committed, and not a single line of those keywords spoken in the video
Seems his body was moved to the field after the search!!
That was my first thought
Don’t forget, David USED his phone in the early morning hours (after midnight) and called a lifelong friend. You can find LEs direct quote about this call n articles you google. Also, an acquaintance/friend on his way to slosh hogs drove past his truck at least twice in the early hours.
David made the decision to deviate from the route he should have taken to deliver the piglets.
He was seen scrolling his phone at the truck plaza as well as seemingly looking for something in his truck. At no time did he indicate he needed help.
He left home in haste but was LATE to pick up pigs.
I SMELL drugs.
And the farmer planted a some type of crop in the field hopefully it was just FEED CORN 🌽 and only the farm animals knew ‼️ That is really sad 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Absolutely ridiculous that this man wasn't found the same day that he went missing! He was one mile from his truck. On the only road across from his truck... Lawn enforcement didn't do a good job.. actually sad. This family coulve had closure much sooner. Sue law enforcement for negligence. They said they searched this area and clearly they did not. The suffering law enforcement has caused this family. Everyday that he was missing his kids were hoping he'd come home. .
Not far from where his truck was last year? So basically the investigation and search of the area was absolutely lazy and this man lay there and decayed for a whole year before being found? Tf
More like 5 months. And that's the sort of thing that happens in rural Iowa because even though those crop fields look flat when you speed past in a car, there's actually a lot more relief to the ground than most people realise. An adult can lie flat in a corn or bean field and be invisible from 10 feet away, depending on the angle the observer is viewing from. His body was found approximately 1.5 miles from where his truck was abandoned, so it was close as in the greater scheme of things but it was a fair distance away by foot. Most of my old SAR buddies figured his body would be found this spring when the farmers started planting (which is just getting started) or next fall when the various hunting seasons open.
@@GrainneDhub-ll6vw not to mention how difficult it is to walk in a plowed field. Add in the pitch darkness. One would be disoriented in no time.
@@realist4real Top of my probability list is that he suffered some sort of medical condition--I'd guess a slow brain bleed. He would have become slowly mentally disoriented. Especially if it was towards the front of his brain, it would have put pressure on one or both optic nerves, causing serious visual disturbances, which would explain why he just parked his truck in the road without trying to pull it over. And then he got out and started looking for help. Poor guy.
@@GrainneDhub-ll6vw but the autopsy did not re Sal any such thing or they would have told Sarah (at least)
Alien Abduction
I didn't think Iowa was a real place. People live there?!?
Lousy police work. Very fishy story. There is more to it.
I had to watch a 3 second, unskippable ad for "instacart" before i was allowed to watch this report on someone's death. America is such a joke..
*Crying* for being too cheap to purchase prime, miserable one?
That happens only America. Then again it happens in Australia
Womp womp
wait, what? what if the remains were planted? or the boots?
Not far from where his semitruck was found, but then they can't find him for 6 months. Americans proclaim they have rights and yet can't find a body that is not far away. Good concern for life indeed.
Logic is:
The reason the cops couldn't find his body for 6 months, most likely the killer put his body somewhere else...waited approximately 6 months, and then put his body near his truck, if we were looking at this as logic...
Realistically, all those law enforcement needs glasses, or a brain... or need a new career.
They need to check the widow and see if there was a insurance policy involved
I wonder if he had a hog get loose and possibly after running how do you go potty and may have had a heart attack😢 little bit of a story but is it possible love to the wife and family❤
