A man, with the help of others, kept his pregnant wife above water for three hours in Hunan province as they were caught in three-metre-deep floods. When rescuers arrived, he asked them to save the woman first.

My sense is that he’s always been consistent in his care-I’ve always been around narcissists from birth, who only perform kind acts for an audience, then the next moment drop the facade.

SCMP, you should change the title to "Chinese men keep a pregnant woman afloat for 3 hours during flood," because it wasn't just her husband who helped her, but also two other men. Those two deserve more praise because they selflessly spent time and effort to help someone likely unrelated to them.

Its true that the husband kept her afloat though. He sacrificed his comfort for her, and gave her first chance to be rescued. The other two guys came to help yes, but the video is just trying to show that the husband risked himself for his wife. It focuses there, which is not wrong.
Could be their sister too.
Those three men are heroes. Imagine being in 9 foot water for hours on end while freezing with no hope in sight. They kept that mom and her baby alive on pure force of will. Bless them and the rescuers who found them.
With so much floods going on now, float jackets should be a house necessity
It's also important to keep important documents in a waterproof folder, it saves you the hassle of reapplying for them
Or learn how to swim. They could never be stuck there if just one of them knew how to swim.
Especially Chinese generally cannot swim.

Swimming in pool is not the same as swimming in mass moving water. I can swim since I was a kid. Staying afloat with a floatation vest in non-moving waters for a long time is still extremely exhausting.
I'm happy they were found and rescued. Props to the guy who helped his wife stay afloat! And to them all for not giving up.

Just filled with tears the instant he spoke- stress, love and determination conveyed in his voice. So thankful they were rescued and hoping others in this situation were as fortunate. So thankful to emergency services people the world over for all they do.
