Anderson Cooper's podcast "All there is" is a wonderful highly recommend podcast
She definitely lived an amazing life.
Having all that money would be nice; I'll admit never having to worry about having enough would be nice. But having good health, a home, family and friends make me feel pretty rich. ❤
Amen to that! More than ever I cherish these far more than money ❤
Being upper middle class or having a couple million would be nice. But my opinion is that being mega rich it’s its own hell. All that glitters is hot gold.
i wouldnt want that wealth made off the backs of slaves
@@ginadean499yes that in itself would be a curse. Being rich isn't the problem its maintaining it and HOW you got it in the first place.
Oh😊@@CMM726
I believe that her relationship with this young girl that reminded her of her nanny kept her in a place that felt safe and familiar.
I absolutely agree. The girl probably felt safe & like "home", as Dodo seemed to be the first true love & trust that she felt
Yeah I don't think it necessarily has to be disturbing. Some feelings are easily explained.
I know they say money doesn’t buy you happiness, but anyone who says that it wouldn’t make their life a little easier is either lying or has never dealt with poverty.
If I have to be miserable, I'd rather be crying in a chauffeur-driven limousine than on public transport! 😂
💯💯Amen!! Lol fr fr
You don’t know what the wealthy actually have to go through. The rituals and abuse are hell. Been poor my whole life and I’ll take it any day
@CMM726 good for you that you enjoy your poverty, and have bought into the myths about all the scary devil-worshipping and "selling their soul" the very wealthy allegedly do. You're much less likely to question why some billionaires pay a fraction of their worth in taxes, compared to the bigger percentage that the average wage slave does...imo you think you're being enlightened, but you're thinking just the way the elites want you to think, and staying in your place.
Me, personally, I want more for myself than poverty, and have worked smarter (not necessarily harder than anyone else), to get to a place where I now earn enough to only work 3-4 days a week and be comfortable. Wealth is not only money, but the gift of time...and I have that.
@@CMM726you don't have to go through that route to be wealthy, and stay wealthy , wealthy people always existed, those who have to do rituals to stay wealthy or ask for wealth, went to the demonic route ,and those have a terrible ending ,that you and I don't see.God is the best giver of wealth.
@@purplelove3666 did you know the people born into those blood lines suffer terribly? Those people are sick.
I rather be rich and unhappy than poor and unhappy. My bills paid off my mortgage paid off…. Sailing vacation in Monaco and soaking the warm sun on the white sand beech in the Caribbean.

Gloria Vanderbilt had 2020 looks decades and decades and decades ago. She was beautiful.
The cackle I let out when you said her husband was “closer to death than life”. Rip Gloria! 🦢
I was like, "No she didn't!" 😂😂
Sorry 😭😂
That was quite a line😅
🦢🦢🦢🦢
Gloria took her crazy childhood and turn it into something good. Good for her
When I hear the name Vanderbilt I think of the show Gossip Girl.
Me too lol
Love this channel!💐💝🥰🕊🙏

Gloria Vanderbilt jeans were all the rage in the early 80's!
GV and Jordache was the ish 🤎
Not all money is good money, my granny would always tell me. I love your breakdown videos, ❤
I’ll never forget the pair of black Vanderbilt jeans I bought in the Bronx in my early 20s. They fit oh so nice! Never found ones like them again.
Yes very true. I remember When I was in my 20s here in California, in my town. Gloria Vanderbilt jeans were the only jeans I could ware at the time they didn't have jeans for full figured women yet.
Those jeans were great for curvy women.
@@puddincup9879 I'm a petite woman, so I'll have to take your word for it for the curvy girls :-) They fit us petite gals well too for sure.
Gloria V was very shady her son jumped out a window & died she was very dark and had questionable beliefs I think
Anderson Coopers mother....interesting
That means he’s 1/5 African America
Y’all late
The rich are not unhappy enough to give all of their money away!
Especially the second gen and down.
Used to own a pair of her jeans! 👖 😁She was blessed to live a long life in spite of the heartbreak of losing a child. My condolences to Anderson Cooper. 😔🙏🏾🕊️❤️
She lived a long life! May she rest in peace ❤
When I was in middle school (Jr. High) I lived for my Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. Those jeans were so fly back then lol I was told years ago that Gloria Vanderbilt was Anderson Cooper’s mom, but I didn’t know if it were true or not. You just solidified it for me❤️ Awesome commentary.
Hello Michelle, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
🦢. Omg I had no idea she lived such a lonely life growing up. I recall when I was a little girl wearing her clothes. I used to love her jeans and beautiful sweaters and tops. 🎉🎉🎉.Wow, thank you for doing this mini documentary on her❤❤❤❤❤❤
She was a warrior and s h e was beautiful at the same time ❤
And she had a worse taste in men than me lol 😂I didn’t know that was possible tbh!
🦢🦢🦢🦢🦢🦢 Gloria Vanderbilt is an ICON! Thank you for the wonderful commentary! ♥️
Yep had a pair of GV jeans...thing is there were rumors going around at the time that she didn't like to see a population of "certain women" wearing her jeans and other designs.
That rumor was de-bunked a long time ago just like the rumor about designer, Tommy Hilfiger which was also de-bunked. Maybe it was made up by their competition or by real racists.
@@alamc200 Yeah, reason why I called it a *rumor.*
I had a WONDERFUL feeling there was going to be a new post today! I love classic movies. Please do a video on Carmen Miranda, Glynis Johns, Cary Grant, Danny Kaye, Jean Porter, Scotty Beckett, Mickey Rooney, and Dickie Moore. Much appreciation to your channel!!

I never realized how amazingly beautiful she was, her sense of fashion is truly inspiring. I am glad she finally found love.
In the book, “Little Gloria... Happy at Last” it was Gloria Morgan who insisted that Dodo be fired and not be allowed to come back. She was convinced that Dodo was actively trying to turn her daughter against her. That is weird though about Gloria's first love affair.
She was a occult priestess and not many people know this. It comes from generational occult practices .
This is true
Her son carter was said to have been a sacrifice. Considering the way he died was super sketch. Almost like he was in a trance or hypnotized . Hmmm

Hello Cindy, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I remember watching the movie based on her life years ago. Thanks for this video of her. I did have a pair of the Vanderbilt jeans 👖 though 😊 Gloria, Doris Duke, Barbara Hutton all remind me of each other 🦢
I ❤ this background music. It touches my heart. I hope you never change it❤.
I think transference of love from one individual, often a caregiver, to a romantic attachment to a similar individual is common. There’s whole psychological studies about it. As an adolescent just coming into their sexuality, it can happen. I’d imagine since she was bereft of her parents love, her love for her true mother figure who had also been taken from her isn’t sick or disturbing, but a psychological coping mechanism. IMHO. This poor woman suffered in her life. I’m only 11 minites in, but I wanted to comment of this section before I forget. Loving this bio so far.
Lisenced therapist here, yes you are exactly right. All of us fall in love with partners who are similar to our mother or to our father, or in this case, nanny. It is the very first attachment that we have in our lives, and whether good or bad, that is where we learn how to love.
She had MOTHER issues, and the rest followed... Her mother's selfishness destroyed a whole empire, both happiness and wealth.
...I'm sure both grandmothers were to blame. Gloria's father could not save Gloria - he could not save even himself - but at least he loved Gloria, unlike her narcissistic mother?
Was Gloria really a gay, or just an easy targer for her gay girl friend? Maybe Gloria just liked the affection she got, and was easily abused sexually, in order to keep a good friend.
I could imagine Gloria's mother evicted nanny, so she could more freely abuse Gloria & rob her money. I'm sure she had the power to do so.
Gloria had children so she did achieve things in life. She just didn't have a capable & caring adult in her childhood/youth. Nanny didn't have the authority for that; she tried, but got horrible accusations [from a selfish monster] and was eliminated. So nobody could save little Gloria! They just sucked her money.
I saw another video on her & it was very telling of the dark secrets she had. This is sugar coating her life. 💯
Yeah, Karine doesn't go down those deep rabbit holes. But I still like her work.

🦢🦢🦢🦢🦢I watched an interview with the late Gloria Vanderbilt and her son Anderson Cooper. They loved each other so deeply. I remember hearing about her son Carter taking his life prior to your video. You did such a beautiful job. I didn’t realize she had to endure so much. What an amazing lady!❤❤❤❤
You did an absolute wonderful and amazing piece on Ms. Vanderbilt.
She came across as sympathetic and broken due to all that she experienced. Thank you for showing the humanity of someone that might otherwise be disregarded because she was raised in the highest echelons of society.
The photos and stories that you presented were weaved together so thoughtfully and thouroughly.
I just wanted to thank you for such a terrific upload. Its obvious every image you used was carefully and purposefully curated. I really enjoy your video
Thank you!
While it's true many of them had a lot going on it's also fair to say they were still privileged to hold the positions that they do. Great video as always!

Hello Liz, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
🦢The retro and vintage GV items are well made. Gloria Vanderbilt Cooper lived a long life.
She was a fascinating person! 🦢
I remember her designer jeans and Debbie Harry, from Blondie, did commercials for her GV Junior Jeans. Mine were hot pink. 'When you know where you're going, you know what to wear!'
Hello Missy, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the COVID-19 virus??
I think the remembrance of the nanny was because the girl probably was the only other glimpse of love she had in her life at that time. Woman in relationships have a tendency to be attentive, empathetic, good listeners and nurturing.
I think it's wrong to assume to Nanny had any inappropriate relations with young Gloria. I fully believe it was a matter exactly as you've said.
🦢 Wow Gloria had such an interesting life. She went through a lot and always looked fabulous : ) Thank you for sharing Karine!
🦢 No one is untouchable, many tragedies with the rich and famous, Gloria had a strength and power in her to rise above her personal loses. Learned from your video that Anderson Cooper is the son to his iconic mom, tragic about his brother. I remember the GV jeans and had GV perfume. Thank you for the time and research you put into all your videos. 🦢
I just had to comment again I just love your videos. ❤you have like a commentary swagger all your own and it comes across as honest and down to earth.
Growing up in the 80’s to me was the best time and back in those days every girl had to own pairs of Vanderbilt jeans 👖 or something of Vanderbilt.
Being so young I didn’t know much about the famous Mrs Gloria but my time would follow Anderson.
I find Anderson Cooper fascinating. To me he comes across as genuine and giving.
Continue making these amazing videos reminding us to go back in time to our favorite starlites.
I like her floral light perfume 🏵️ Gloria Vanderbilt it had a swan 🦢 in the bottle
Great content, I knew Gloria Vanderbilt was Anderson Cooper's mom but didn't know anything about her life. I actually wore Vanderbilt jeans and I really loved the fit. I would like to see you do a video on the actress Barbara Steele, she was known as the "Queen of All Screams," the horror genre of the 1960's. Perhaps this might be an interesting topic. If it wasn't for the name and inheritance she'd be just some 'nothing special'. She didn't do anything important with her life, from marriage to marriage like a lost ship at sea.
