  • In this video I prepare for removal of the rear axle. I drain the gooey 600W axle oil, remove wheels with hubs, remove emergency brake rods.

An idea, if I might. I've never had a Model T but hope someday. I have a '28 Model A now but have always been fascinated by Model T. The one thing I know is very important but have never seen any video on it is the babbit thrust washers in the rear end. I know they're dangerous and people have been hurt when they give-way. Owners always say that's the number one thing to verify/repair with every T. If that's part of what you're going to do in this part of your project, I would sure like to see what they're all about. Thanks, enjoy your shows.

Thank you, I am glad you enjoy my shows.
I will be rebuilding the rear axle at some point, and you will be able to see the Babbitt thrust washers in the rear end if they have not been replaced with brass. The first item I plan on rebuilding is the engine and transmission. I will get to the rear end eventually though.
