  • STEVE D'ARCY is a life-long online gamer and computer tech whizz. He's built his own PC which he uses for gaming in his man-cave at his home in Yeovil, Somerset, in South West England. But at 36, Steve suffered a "stuttering" stroke. It was the emergency stroke team at Yeovil District Hospital who saved Steve's life.
Today, 6 years on, Steve describes his experience as a stroke patient.
Steve is backing a community campaign led by Quicksilver Community Group, to SAVE the Yeovil Hospital Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU), from being closed, as part of controviersial plans to "reconfigure" stroke services across Somerset....
More details on the community campaign to SAVE Yeovil HASU can be found on this link:
    www.change.org/p/save-yeovil-...
You can also add your name to the Petition, calling on NHS Somerset ICB to reverse their plan to close the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit at Yeovil Hospital.

Very insightful video and incredibly brave of Steve to share his story in the hope of having a positive impact on the planned closure of YDH (Yeovil Hospital) HASU (stroke services). We’ve already obtained over 10,000 signatures on the petition against the planned closure, I’m sure this video will add even more. Well done all concerned with the production of this.
