- The House Committee on Women Affairs had a rough session with the Minister of Women Affairs on Tuesday as it began its probe into the alleged diversion of public funds.
The committee led by Kafilat Ogbara from Kosofe Federal Constituency hurriedly adjourned indefinitely as the minister and committee members exchanged words repeatedly.
The committee is investigating the alleged diversion of N1.5 billion contractor fund at the Ministry of Women Affairs.
But the minister insists she did not divert funds, as she says her ministry is underfunded.

While the Minister may need therapy for anger management, the committee members were not fair to her. They kept badgering her. It’s unreasonable to expect a yes or no answer when the Minister was trying to explain that the budgetary funds were only partially released. The Committee should have the temperament and maturity to allow invited guests to express themselves. Nigerians did not send you to the House to wear the conflicting hats of judge and accuser. Nigerians must learn to treat one another with mutual respect.

Do you even listen to yourself at all? The house of rep members were doing their constitutional duties and if they found her guilty they have the power to order for her arrest.
