Oobah Butler of fake shed restaurant fame is back and this time he’s turned his attention to the world of fashion. Paris Fashion week is iconic amongst A-Listers and fashion inner circles. It's the place where you find all the next big trends, the crème de la crème of fashion weeks. Georgio Peviani was getting loads of attention at PFW.
Buyers from Milan wanted his denim in their stores, the inner-circle wanted him at their showrooms and A-Listers partied with him at night. But the man doesn't actually exist.. does he? This is the time Oobah Butler faked his way into Paris Fashion Week.

@H20 Injector no I’m your dad
Only one comment???
I am making enough money to be able to afford luxury items, but for many years I am buying more top quality replicas, than real items. I am not person who is looking to fashion as investment. I want my handbags, shoes, sunglasses or jewelry for one season. Sad fact is, that my replicas have better quality than most of original products. We did comparisons with friend who works for one of the top designers and she was shocked. I know people who bought *suluxs* at reputable places.
I think the main reason why he succeeded in getting into Paris fashion week is because he just looked so exotic and eccentric. No one would deny someone who looks like that as a fashion designer. They're all bonkers
Yeah, he totally gave off the right vibe! xD
Meanwhile, I wonder if the real guy would even be able to get in.. Facade indeed!
That and he had an entire camera crew following him around
This was all staged they knew it was a joke LOL.
thats what i thought too
*If streetwear is a religion, Peviani constantly sins.* That slogan could actually work
That's actually a very smart and catchy slogan.

Kinda unoriginal i’ve heard that many times
I heard Georgio Peviani can get a table at The Shed at Dulwich without waiting.

And he can get one at dorsia at 8 on Friday as well.
@@robpaulson6568 And he’s got a gorgeous apartment. Super expensive too.
@@aitor.online 😂😂😂😂😂
I appreciate the guy at least trying to find the original creator and “giving him” the gift of growth in his brand. Instead of just impersonating him and playing it off as a joke he was able to get this guy as a worldwide brand.
I wish he did that with my brand 😔

I love how this man went from literally clowning this brand to doing an interview with them and then a lookbook.
he didnt clown the brand once .
The owner of the brand was a really really nice person, anyone could be really piss off but instead he smiled and was surprised about it.
Never clowned the brand what are you on about
Yeah he never disrespected the brand once. The only thing he clowned on was how you really just have to show up and look the part in Paris and no one can tell the difference.
I can tell that everyone who replied to you has no idea what "clown" means within this context lmao. That awkward moment when people misinterpret AAVE...Anyway, I agree! This story came full circle in the best way.

I'm crying. This is honestly touching. Just an immigrant having to hide his identity to enjoy some success in this world.
So true
He is an entrepreneur. Immigration is the ultimate manifestation of that instinct
I feel like it wasn't that he had to hide his identity (unless i missed something in the video), but rather that he used a name that would catch people's attention. It was hella smart.
@@Active0Bserver I guess Daniel was pointing that the fact that he has to change the brand to something that sounds Italian is kinda sad.

I gave the 667th like on your comment. You're welcome.
I want to see him fake his way in the contemporary art world or something
Would love to see that! I think somebody might have done that already, the film/documentary "Exit through the gift shop" might have demonstrated that possibility or might be true if we are to believe Banksy's response!
That would be the easiest one yet lol
Banksy is clearly his inspiration for all of these ideas so its actually already been done

this just proves how empty and fake the whole fashion, blogging and influencer world is
DELIBRIUM but if we’re talking about making dreams and ideas reality, it really is a fantasy like space where you can fast track whims into tangible results.
Everything can be faked, on another level it’s just called fraud. I suppose most people think the same mostly
It really shows us that how confidence alone can move mountains
I don't think it needed proving. The point of all of those things was that they were intangible to begin with. Something that you can always keep out of the hands of others for no *good* reason--or no reason--at all. A way to secure power and influence with such fleeting and hard to pin objectives that it was truly exclusive. That's why fashion has had such a dark modern history. That's also why influencing is so broad talent with the stage of the internet. Someone can blatantly rip off a smaller creative and thrive, bc they have the access to this "world" and associated stature. Mainstream fashion and influencing, in the name if vanity, has always heen vapid and empty and that was always the point.

What makes this social experiment really interesting is the perception the fashion industry has on people.
Adam has created, established and then maintained the brand for 30 years but if he rocked up and asked for a pass would he get one?
Would influencers be willing or interested into giving Adam a shout out without payment?
Or invite Adam to after parties and networking events?
This is a real big eye opener!
Like damn 😦
As a photographer i think the fashion industry is one BIG joke. They are so full of themselves, lost in what really is fashion and something like this proves my point.
This is a perfect example of how fake and superficial the fashion industry is. Unbelievable.
Not only the fashion world. The social construct that the humans have carved is full of mindless interactions just seeking to make connections and attain more power. He is also showing how easily people are persuaded into thinking that something has a high value just because of how said item is perceived
@@prg4647 Exactly. And more so in fashion, not only high end but street wear. How expensive are those Yeezys or whatever they are, as ugly as they look?
@@opahmar one word Iphone

akualikewater yeah I guess at least with the internet and such it means that anyone can fake it to make it
It is, and there's nothing wrong with that. the brand and image, and constituents that come with the brand are all viable aspects of a piece. There's nothing to belittle here other than the fact you only see clothes as something to cover your body with
Fozzy Bear actually before Internet people already con their way into many stuff. The movie Catch me if you can was based on an actual con artist who bullshit his way into many jobs.

I love watching this video because it is a reminder to me that you can do literally anything when you have enough confidence.
This demonstrates how dumb “high fashion” really is. I love this guy
This is still on the tame side, leaning towards streetwear. If you think this is stupid wait till you see real high fashion and their extremely stupid designs.
@Kate Yara : Louis Vuitton is an old French brand, that was here way before fashion became crazy and all that! So, no. But I agree with you on what you said ( and a lot of brands today make shitty / ridiculous clothes that cost WAY TOO MUCH MONEY! )...Sad.
well anything art contrived seems easily manipulated they've done this with food critics were they served them with fancy cut sandwhiches which they had alot of positive adjectives for.. but is later revealed to be a sandwhich from mcdonalds. same with paintings.. its hard to conceive concrete values of perception when experience itself is some what abstract
If anything it demonstrates how easy it is to fake your way to the top if you're confident enough. Doesn't say all that much about the integrity of high fashion; I think that's just you projecting your beliefs.
Right?! It honestly just feels like it's most often about expensive materials and thinking you're better than other people. I remember being like 10 and watching some weird runway models thinking, "okay, so pretty models are still pretty in ugly clothes, is this the moral of the story..?"

True, but the issue with that is it isn't sustainable. People float to other brands/designs/art. Quality keeps people around, however. Converse shoes is a great example of that - people of all genders, ages, class still own one at some point in their life.

blooduhz no, I don’t wonder. I use my brain and think gee, what resources were involved in the making of this product? Is it egyptian long staple cotton! Sea island cotton (the rarest cotton in the world), was it made by hand or by machine, how many have been produced? I ask myself those questions and then i come to a a rational conclusion and make the determination if said product is worth what they are asking for it. We are not living in an illusion. We are living in a world with limited supply and unlimited demand. The other nice thing about living in this world is that you ARE NOT FORCED TO BUY ANYTHING YOU DO NOT WANT! If you believe you can make the item for less, then do it. I don’t know if you know this, there are a couple small companies, walmart, uniqlo, topshop, that sell clothes for 1-10 USD. Making an argument about one aspect of an industry shows a lack of knowledge and thought on your end...

99% of succeeding in ANYTHING is being confident. This worked (& all of the "fake outs" he does work) because Oobah does everything with such confidence. He really became Georgio Peviani in that instance, and he represented himself as if he knew he was meant to be at the top. The real lesson to learn here is to be confident in anything you do, or at least fake it till you make it. If you believe in yourself, others will take notice and believe in you also. You only live once.. so chase those dreams like you know they're already yours. Confidence is the single best thing you can do for yourself. If you don't have faith in yourself, or you product, or creation - why would anybody else? Own it!
