I saw an interview with the guy who first hired Brendon O'Carroll to play Mrs Brown, he said exactly that: "that this guy would do anything to get a laugh".
In some ways he is like the great Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett in that he also enjoys the physical side of comedy....or at least he seems to.

The following films apart from The Mammy were all released in Ireland and the tour was in Ireland before going over to the UK. It was BBC Scotland that partnered with RTE to create Mrs Brown's Boys tv show but the show is set in Ireland, was written by an Irish man and has always been broadcast in Ireland.

I've been there when a mate became a woman.
As hard as it was to make the mental change for me, seeing the freedom and positive change in them
made me realise I had never been talking to the real them until now. From quiet and hidden, to truly open and alive.

Grayson Ross When Caitlyn won the woman of the year award, one of the women also nominated for that award was a college student, a basketball player, with brain cancer. She had to sit out a season, went back, then her physical condition got so bad she obviously became bedridden, and passed away. Because the games and the girl were known across the US, there was outrage that Caitlyn won over the college student.

Thank you for being so wonderful to Caitlyn Jenner. I've never seen her so relaxed and having such a good time. America doesn't offer much opportunity to do this. Everyone and I do mean everyone would give themselves the distinction of watching the acceptance speech(in it's entirety) she gave at the ESPY awards.
