    I think everything has more depth. For the most part, I’m enjoying the refreshed look. The new areas especially hit different.

    honestly, gamma correction i find ruining some things, setting gamma correction to lower value or 0 make stuff look less washed out with the graphics update and generally more visible with the same gamma correction setting.

    I'd love to see someone do a 'challenge' to see if a person could tell consistently which graphics are 7.0/6.55 but without any labels on the footage. Then reveal at the end how accurate they were... 😅

    Unlike ARR and HW clip from another player that look like everyone became a CZcamsrs.
    I think this one look better and I like the new lighting more than original in this case.

    Change your 3D Rendering Scale from 100 to 99, there is a glitch and its basically turned off until you move it away from 100. Every texture looks way sharper and more detailed at 99. Honestly my game looks much better than in your video test, so it must be your setttings

    • @hoshinoarts
      @hoshinoarts  Před 14 dny

      I see. I used Nvidia DLSS to record this (without any sharpen filter), and resolution scaling has been disabled when I have it on.

    • @Alcadria
      @Alcadria Před 13 dny

      That is only applicable to AMD FSR, they clearly listed they are using Nvidia DLSS, which does not have that option as it has its own internal sharpening and anti aliasing that it does without user input.
      Also putting FSR to 99 makes things look shaper but also far more rough for some people. I did so and all my textures became grainy and gravelly, so it really is a case of statement hardware and systems having differing results.

    It's amazing that these PS3 graphics have lasted this long.
    This visual change should have come at the launch of Shadowbringers.

      Well, there are FF games from the PS3 era, like Lightning Returns, that look better than FF14, even currently (possibly). They didn't want to do a major graphical update because apparently, some fans got super mad when other MMOs have done graphical updates because "it changed their characters and no longer look what they were used to".
      Basically, FF14 team played safe as they always do and they decided to just polish the character models and enviroment a little bit. I'd say it's like a....10% upgrade

      Final fantasy 14 1.0 looks much better then current ff14 which is a embarrassment but hey...

  • @carl9283
    @carl9283 Před 8 dny

    some grass areas are still like a plain n64 texture, models on vegetation just a flat texture not fully modeled and so on,they hyped this up and it was nothing at all basically the exact same, also with the new dye system its lazy and still ass

    • @Yokai_Yuri
      @Yokai_Yuri Před 8 dny +1

      Not only that. MANY armors have super low polygon textures. I know they said this wouldn't be the last graphical update but by the time we get this game to look at least like a PS4 game I think I'd turn 85 years old or something.

      @@Yokai_Yuri exactly, i have been waiting 10 years since dmrealm reborn to dye the drachen set fully because it does not let you dye the purple lights and purple parts on it, then the new advabce dye system came out and it does not dye the purple off at all wtf

    They talked such a big game about this. But I honestly would not be able to tell the difference if I wasn't looking at it. Maybe it's better for the new stuff... but all that talk about those updated character models seems a bit... overpromised. There's differences, but again, I really would not notice if I wasn't paying attention.

    • @hoshinoarts
      @hoshinoarts  Před 15 dny +1

      The updates to character models are more subtle in nature for sure.

    • @SlashProducts
      @SlashProducts Před 15 dny +2

      The models were originally much more updated as seen in the first reveal but theyve since then scaled it down cause it changed their vision of the game too much. The story NPCs are not changed too much because people would riot otherwise

    • @readifdumb
      @readifdumb Před 12 dny +8

      It really is different once you're actually playing the game. The lack of shadows in the original, low density of foliage, pixelated hair, plastic looking metal, and general just blurry worse textures, all being improved, make zooming in and playing the game feel a lot better. It adds more depth and clarity to the image that wasn't present before. With Reshade I could see pushing this even further, especially at 4k, if your rig can run it. What's lacking is that not all clothing textures are redone, Coerthas feels barely changed, and I'd still say that the post-processing could be enhanced to add more density of ground fog, bounce light, grass shadows, hair shadows, etc. It is however night and day difference when actually playing the game. The anti-aliasing is definitely the biggest improvement, no more pixelation on foliage and lots of flicker/shimmer when walking.

      @@readifdumb Yes it looks very smooth. I heard they want to improve the graphics update gradually even more with new patches. Dont know if its true, but you really notice the difference in the game, it's subtle but at the same time a huge improvement.

      Shadowbringers whole thing was that it was a perma day setting with terrible lighting. This area especially always had ugly lighting. The lighting isn't worse, the shadows have more color/transparency to them like actual shadows do.

  • @EloyBushida
    @EloyBushida Před 11 dny

    Slightly better lighting overall, not much else. Texture quality is so bad still, like shockingly bad. Looks like a ps2 game in many places, and at its best it looks like an early ps3 game.
