  • I'm tired of being a goody-two shoes. I just want to go feral. Follow me as I commit as many crimes as I can think of in Stardew Valley! Just a small reminder that all crimes and sentences are from my glancing knowledge of a few days of googling, and I tried to use the most common mild sentence as a reference.

Many many years ago there was a project by General Electric and the US Army that attempted to break up hurricanes by seeding them with dry ice. One storm they did this to, however, actually got stronger and veered in an unexpected direction, causing a lot of damage. Scientists don't think the dry ice had anything to do with it, it's unclear if dry ice even affects storms at all, but needless to say people were very angry and weather modification was eventually banned without government permission.

okay so fun thing about the mushroom one! because it's going into a soup, it'd be filtered and boiled down. so the fly agaric would be either much, much less poisonous or it'd lose its poisonous properties entirely and instead become hallucinogenic (it's a very interesting mushroom). which could alter the crime/sentence. it's at a minimum a class F felony, which carries up to 12½ years prison time and/or up to $25,000 in fines. could be argued as a class C, which makes the sentence up to 40 years and/or $100,000 in fines. depends on aggravating/mitigating factors, but thats what's generally agreed upon

Funnily enough, (This may or may not be true since I saw it on a CZcams video) but in one of the Harvest Moon games, a series that Stardew is inspired by, you can actually get the credits to roll by putting a high quality white-cap mushroom, which must be VERY poisonous, into the equivalent of the Luau potluck. This pretty much means you do actually get everyone to kick the bucket since the credits rolling suggests that the player died from the soup.

As Stardew Valley is in the Ferngill Republic, the laws are probably different than in the US, although some of the things you mentioned are probably illegal (at least the violent one).
There are a many not so clear things, for example are you allowed to fish without a fishing license? Are you allowed to forage all the things you can? what about taking some treasure chess? or digging for artifacts? mining? Are you allowed to start a farming business like that? specially as there are many different aspects, do you have all required licenses? moreover do some of the constructions also require permits? Are you licensed to repair some random bridges? Is the casino legal? Would the wizard potion be considered drug? What about encouraging some weird creatures to repair a bus? or a public building?
To go back to rather clearly illegal stuff:
I think that turning your child into dove would be considered murder, however it is hard to know as we do not have real-life examples...
    A few things likely illegal:
    1) When you talk to some divorcee, they ask you to leave, for example Shane say "leave me alone", continuing talking to him is harassement.
2 ) Using or even owning the key to the town.
    3) Owning/handling/giving radioactive material.
    4) Selling stuff you have kept in a chess for 10 years and is probably rotten.
    5) Not contacting the authority when you see an abandoned kid (Leo).
    6) Cutting all the trees in the forest (or any massive exploitation of ressources outside your farm).
    7) Making a massive installation outside your property (solar farm in the desert or wine cellar in the quarry, crab pots).
    8) Changing a trailer into a big house without asking before.
Although you are not the only one doing illegal stuff, for example Robin move you asleep to a new bed during the night, that is probably illegal. Moreover it does not seems that she take safety seriously by working 72 hours without rest, specially when someone is sleeping in the house.
