In Jos his defense. Its completely different when your driving then sitting next to the driver. There is a similar video like this with Raikkonen and Giovinnazi i believe. Who was also terrified. Jos was a F1 driver himself so can handle these speeds for sure

Both reactions are normal. If Jos was driving and Max was a passenger, their reactions would be reversed as well. The driver is in control, hence less stressed. The driver knows when he will brake, how long he will brake, when he will turn, etc hence his head movement is less than the passenger's who doesn't know when these events will exactly occur hence always a bit of a surprise. The focus of Max is typical of any race car driver. If you can't focus like that, you have no business driving a race car. Just needed to add a dose of reality to the idolatry being expressed here. Hamilton got the same idolatry when he was winning world titles. When an F1 driver with a different team was asked back then if Lewis was the greatest F1 driver of all time, he calmly replied "Well, let's see how he does when he doesn't have the fastest car on the grid and has to start in mid-pack."
Jos was a horrible dad to max but I'm glad it paid off after all if Jos hadn't pushed hard we wouldn't be hearing the Dutch anthem all the time but, I really wish Jos was better father to such a legend.

Some people get worse as passengers when they become better drivers, so that may be something as well.
