I think people have a misunderstanding of how bad reviews happen. There is not many restaurants that have all around horrible food every meal or every day. Most of the time the bad reviews come from a bad day or a bad meal from a place, and you see so many bad reviews because most people don't bother leaving positive reviews, they just leave negative ones if they have a negative experience. When Daym goes it's most likely a better experience. If the experience was bad every single day at a place, it would most likely shut down.
I think it’s cause people think they are “ reviewers” and they think they know how something should be served or cooked or put together and they have no real, concept of what things are supposed to,look and taste
@@Disneymagic24 I don't think that's what it is. When people have a bad experience with a business, they feel like they have no recourse, so leaving a bad review is a way to blow off steam. I've been there myself. And when I have an excellent experience, I think to myself, "I'm going to write them a glowing review... but most of the time I forget.
when the service is that good i usually at least match my tip to bill when i can afford it bc, the server lots of times deserves the check more than the company tbh
@matthewfaulkner4323 I was 23 back then and only made $360 a week. So yea, a $20 tip off a $13 bill was big back then. I was eating bologna sammiches the other days, lol. Always went out the day I got paid. 😁
I just want to say is that by doing your own reviews as opposed to sending someone else in eliminates anyone saying "he said, she said". You're able to give your own opinion based on your own personal experience. Makes sense to me
Ive been working at that town fair tire for 6 years, every time ive gone to that sliders I've had a very good experience, and just because you had the PB&J wings i have to try them now, love how even when im home i get to see my job on camera, all good vibes! 😅😂😂😂
The wings looked really good. I was impressed with the crisp I heard on your first bite. The presentation was spot on. Not sure peanut and jelly would be my first choice for flavor. I agree with you on the potato skin. I savory smothering of a different cheese and some salt/pepper action on the skin before adding all the toppings might have made those somewhat basic skins an all star. The burger looked good sized and prety juicy. A bit more crisp on the bacon and a few more onion rings would have made that burger shine. Love watching your reviews. When I'm in CT I'm going to try a few of your places you've reviewed.
I don't normally comment, I usually just prefer to sit back and watch and relax. I will give a like 9 times out of 10 regardless of who I am watching if it's not half bad or for music if I like the song. For the meal. Bar and grills, especially more hole in the wall joints (with 5 locations, not sure how much Sliders counts) are my preferred go to restaurants for food. I do not enjoy beef for the most part, so I almost always look at the chicken items. Sometimes I will lean towards seafood, or something pork related if they have it. The PB&J wings....I like PB&J and I like wings, but not together. I generally go with a nice hot buffalo or a more savory or spicy sauce or rub for wings. That said, your wings looked mad tender and had a nice crispy exterior not softened much by the saucy covering. That's a plus in my book. Your loaded potato skins, I am less nitpicky about such things. I don't mind them being a little overdone, but that's me personally. Gooey melted cheese, the crunchy flavor of the scallions (sometimes I do without), and delicious bacon....what's not to love? I would NOT have personally gotten sour cream, don't like it. But, to each their own. The burger looked....like a burger. It looked well cooked and seemed to be well seasoned based on your reaction. Not a big fan of BBQ or ketchup really (also, fries that aren't hot....ew), and I enjoy onion rings that are spicy. Again, personal preference. I would have gone with a chicken sandwich, either fried or grilled depending on my mood. Maybe a nice fried fish if they have it. Anyway, that's just my piece. Keep up the good work Daym and continue to stay truthful man. I'll be seeing you in the next one.

Gotta go during busy hours to get a feel for the service! Going to an empty restaurant almost guarantees great service. Reviewing an empty sports bar ain’t reviewing a sports bar during a football game!
Daym you right but you go to these restaurants at opening of business. You have to go there at rush hour times to see how they perform on a daily basis.
Love this series as it’s always good to give places another chance to see if they can improve on a previous poor experience. Have you ever considered doing revisits to the best reviewed too to see whether they are still as good as before?
The food looked awesome I don’t know about the PB&J wings personally but I’m willing to try any type of food once but with my stomach issue I just have to be careful..the potato off rip looked dry..and I so glad you addressed the issue with ppl asking why don’t you send someone in that’s so true the food going to come out good or bad regardless…its can be human era cause we humans make mistake or you can get a chef that just don’t care either way things can end up bad regardless..much love Daym
PB & J wings? 🤔 Ok, I guess I can dig that. Especially when chicken and waffles are a fan favorite. It's a strange combo, but a fan favorite all the same. That said, I can't say that I'm against trying the PB & J wings. I'd definitely try them! 👍🏾
Daym, great review overall but I think dropping them to a three-piece for what amounts to venialia was a bit too punitive. Sounds like your experience was more a four-star, but I guess a 3.5 would have been most of ideal. Yelp needs a decimal system! ✌️
I like the way you do your reviews so not saying you should change it but kinda naive to say if they recognize you it doesn’t make a difference. Also there were some contradictions there (first saying if you get better service it’s not important to the review and then saying good service makes a big difference for you)…even if the flavor of the food is the same they could still be more careful to not overcook or make it sloppy and give better portion size (which is very important when I’m spending my money)
I feel like you communicate well with us when people recognize you and potentially give you bigger portions or maybe slight more effort in the kitchen. Your whole personal experience is important when reviewing though. So if the person after you had a miserable time, well. They can go ahead and review it that way. Its just how it goes
I honestly have a similar policy when it comes to tipping. So long as the server is friendly and attentive, I tend to tip well even if the food is mediocre.
exactly. It's not the servers fault the food is sh*t unless they are also the cook Unless the food sat on the counter while the server played on their phone etc and by the time they decided to bring it to your table it was cold.
I give Daym props! I try some strange outta the box 📦 items on Menus. But PB&J Chicken Wings dipped off in some Bleu Cheese might be pushing it for me 😅
Daym I disagree because I think if they know you and you do a review about things they need to change that will benefit the business and help people get better service. In my opinion you are well known for your food reviews and have a big following. In my opinion businesses should listen and make the positive changes they need to. I have never heard of peanut butter and jelly wings i would definitely try them though. The place looks incredible you can tell the employees take pride in keeping everything clean which is a great thing.
Daym, my only issue is it seems like (correct me if I’m wrong) you tend to visit restaurants early in the service-e.g., 11-ish for lunch or early for dinners. You won’t get accurate representation of how the service is if there are hardly any patrons at the restaurant versus dining during prime time when the place and kitchen is jammin.
I perfectly understand why you would go in yourself instead of sending someone in your stead, but the kitchen nightmares analogy doesn't work fully here cause apparently more than 90% of the restaurants that gordon visits end up closing not long after he leaves.
Me and my wife went here ….staff was amazing . Food was just ok in my opinion. But I’m from Pittsburgh so we do wings a bit different . Too close to Erie and Buffalo, NY to do it wrong 🤷🏾♂️
honestly that food looked good as hell idk what’s goin on in the kitchen since the flavor wasn’t there, i would like to see better seasoned food and more attention to cook time. looks like the cook on burgers is master
Is it not possible that staffs of certain joints recognize the Salt N Peppa Sultan of Savoriness and make it a point to serve/interact with you on a level they may not give to others? Just saying...
Blue cheese is always a banger. There's a little burger joint in my neighborhood that has a burger which comes with blue cheese among other things, and it's the best I've ever had.

Those wings looked terrible, like they dunked them in peanut butter. I could see a peanut butter sauce, maybe with honey and hot sauce or something. 😅 also, imo those potatoe skins looked perfectly cooked, just a bit dry like they've been frozen before or sat for too long. Either way, I love your videos
