- Angel Balcazar is a 3rd grade student at Roosevelt Elementary. He is in a wheelchair and has a condition that affects his muscle control, but he is a bright and eager child who likes art and playing with his toy cars.

It is so refreshing to see such kind and caring staff at a school like this! So many times we only hear about the bad things and not any good! Not sure who the second lady was that was at the school with Angel but you can SEE how much she cares about him and loves him! I hope he is doing well as this is a fairly old video.
I loved seeing the joy on his face. My son is in a self contained classroom and school is his favorite activity. These children thrive on the love and attention the staff give them and the social interaction from other students.

Angel has a disease that effects his muscles but he can still hear and speak. He is a wonderful, sweet, bright boy.

Perri Rigal Thanks for inquiring Perri. Deborah was the director's cousin (who was also the daughter of their pastor). She died of cancer around the time that they were working on Angels story for the GO PUBLIC Project. She died just two weeks after her 50th birthday.
