I think exo is an example of a very stable group like they have been at the top for soooo long which is very impressive. Even as an individual they are very established too. I don’t think i will ever quit loving this group
"Overdose" was my very first EXO song I ever listened to and I loved the beat and sound of it, I love the choreo so much and the way the camera moves is some of my fav.
It was also this song that introduced me to DO's vocals and since then he became my bias
Same! Overdose pretty much changed my whole life when I first listened to it in middle school. They really cemented my love for k-pop as a whole after that.

When I first heard Overdose it was on repeat a lot.
Back in the days when they're still a 12 member group, EXO used to split into 2 groups namely EXO-K and EXO-M.
The 'K' in (EXO-K) stands for Korean, because the songs was sung in Korean.
While EXO-M (the M stands for Mandarin or Chinese).
They used to have it, I guess until 2014 only.

Until Obsession they still have chinese version but only for the title track, unlike before that they have the whole album in chinese version.
This song my friends is one of my ultimate favorite kpop songs, I can never get bored of listening to it
Just so you won't get confused, EXO *used to* be divided into 2 subgroups - EXO-K (which focused on promoting in Korea), and EXO-M (which was based in China). They also did Chinese versions of their albums, so they could reach a wider audience. After the departure of 3 Chinese members, Kris, Luhan, and Tao, they became a whole group, known simply as EXO. The only Chinese member currently active is Lay (or Zhang Yixing).
Tao's flip at the ending and your reaction!! I watched it two times! Btw Exo-k songs were in korean and had 12 members in it. Exo-m was in mandarin and it also had all the 12 members!

Exo K is the Korean version and Exo M is the Chinese mandarin version :)
It’s always interesting to watch both versions (EXO-K and EXO-M)- especially in their early period. It’s almost the same, but sometimes so different (asides from the language obviously)
The Overdose album was released separately with the same song in different languages recorded by only 6 members each. However, since the MV was filmed together, it became like the Korean version of EXO as a whole.
"Overdose" came out in 2014 and this is one of the last MVs where all 12 members are part of the song and MV. (Kris left the group right after this MV was released and Luhan will leave within the next 6 months.)
How EXO worked back when they were split up into the two groups was that all the members were in both MVs, but the K members were featured more prominently in the K version of the song and the M members were featured in the M version. As you saw, in the EXO-K version of "Overdose" the K members sing the main parts of the song, but if you watch the Mandarin version, you will see the M members take over the main parts of the song and MV. So, even when the MVs look the same, they will always be slightly different because the members are assigned different parts in each MV.
For example, in the Korean version, the EXO-K rappers (Chanyeol and Sehun) are the ones that are part of the rap section. If you watch the Mandarin version, you will see Kris, Xiumin and Tao are the rappers because they are EXO-M's rappers. Tao is also the martial artist of the group, so he is the one that does the flips and stunts in EXO's routines.
You should watch the Mandarin versions of "Overdose," as well. :D If you watch EXO-M's version of "Overdose" you will understand why we say even though they may seem like they are similar MVs, there are distinct differences between the Korean and Mandarin versions that are important to EXO's storyline.
Plus, I think you may even enjoy the Mandarin version of the song just as much, or more.
Also something to note, you see Kai in the beginning and end of the MV in the Korean version because he is the center and visual of EXO-K. However, in the Mandarin version you will see Luhan fills that same role because he is the center and visual of EXO-M. Plus, Kai and Luhan were each others' power counterparts as well. So this establishes the connections between EXO-K and EXO-M. Kai and Luhan were supposed to have a bond that connected the two groups and made them one as part of EXO's storyline.
In the the MV what you saw is that the members have been trapped in a maze by the Red Force and they are trying to use their superpowers to escape the maze. For example, in the Korean version you see Chen throw a beam of light which is an example of them using their powers. Chen has the power to control lightning so he tossed a lightning bolt to Lay who has the power of healing. Lay is the only one who could have caught that light beam without being injured because Lay has the power of healing and he can heal himself.
In the beginning when you see the EXO-K members making that picture while standing on each other, they are forming their hexagon symbol which is EXO's official symbol. (In the M version, you will notice it's different members.) The different sets you see, are thought to be different rooms within the maze, or maybe alternate realities or time periods created by the Red Force to lure the EXO members to them.
So, the story in the MV is pretty much the members trying to summon their powers to try and escape from the maze.The box that D.O. had at the beginning of the MV was full of dirt. D.O.'s superpower is the power of earth or dirt and it gives him strength, so he was using the sand to build his strength back up. The other members were also trying to use their powers of teleportation, fire, light, etc.
At the end of the MV we discover that the maze has only one way in and no way out. Which I think is meant to represent and mirror the fact that they are saying they are trapped by love and once you are in there is no way out. The maze was also EXO's logo for this album and it is shaped like EXO's hexagon symbol.
Although, in the song they're not overdosing on anything except love. As the English lines in the song say: "So bad, no one can stop her ... her love, her love (is) fantasy ... Oh she wants me, Oh she's got me ... Oh she hurts me ... someone call the doctor ... (her love makes me) overdose ... too much of your love makes me overdose ... too much overdose ... You're in my heart ... with you I can't stop", etc. This song is kind of a love song about how powerful love can be that it feels like no matter how much you try to resist it you keep getting pulled back in like a drug.
However, for the storyline in the MV there might be a little more at play than just being drugged by love. Some theories say that the story in "Overdose" is connected to the story in "Lucky One." In "Overdose" the members get trapped in the maze and they can't find their way out. The red light represents the Red Force who have trapped them in the maze. It is thought that the maze causes the members to get disoriented and sort of become incapacitated so they are unable to defend themselves. The maze dulls their senses and makes it so they lose the ability to use their powers at full strength, etc.The theory speculates that sometime after the end of the "Overdose" MV EXO gets captured or transferred from the maze and brought to the government facility by the Red Force and that is why we see them in a hospital-like setting in their "Lucky One" MV. In the story in the "Lucky One" MV the members are drugged and they are being experimented on to discover what makes them so special. In "Lucky One" the members use their powers to break free from the facility. And this is where some theories connect the story in "Lucky One" to the story in their "Ko Ko Bop" MV. One theory is that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" is them trying to detox from the drugs they were given in the government facility in "Lucky One" and the blue Ko Ko Bop drink Suho mixes and the members drink is supposed to counteract the effects of the drugs in their system. That is why they act so out of it and in a drugged state in "Ko Ko Bop."
As you can see all of the stories in EXO's MVs are connected. We just have to pay close attention to every detail and put the pieces together.

For the OVERDOSE mini album, 6 members of EXO-K released their albums in Korean and 6 members of EXO-M in Chinese, but the MV was filmed by K and M together. So, OVERDOSE MV is actually the Korean version of EXO.

EXO-K performed in Korean with Suho (leader), Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun. EXO-M performed in mandarin with Chris (leader), Luhan, Tao, Xiumin, Lay, and Chen.
