EXO was created by SM Entertainment on 2011, but They're debuted on April 8, 2012. When they debuted, EXO had 12 members including 4 members from China consisting of Xiumin, Luhan, Kris, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, DO, Tao, Kai, and Sehun and divided into 2 units namely EXO-K which specifically sing songs in Korean and EXO-M who specifically sing songs in Mandarin.
EXO-K member is: Suho as a Leader and Lead Vocal, Baekhyun and D.O as a Main Vocal, Sehun and Chanyeol as a Rapper, and Kai as a Main Dancer.
EXO-M member is: Kris as a Leader and Rapper, Xiumin as Lead Vocal, Luhan and Chen as a Main Vocal, Lay as a Main Dancer, and Tao as a Rapper
And Each member has super powers, namely: Xiumin = Frost / Ice (Cryokinesis)
Luhan = Telekinesis
Kris = Flight (Dragon) (Levitation)
Suho = Water (Hydrokinesis)
Lay = Healing (Vitakinesis)
Baekhyun = Light (Lunarkinesis)

Tao's Time Control Power was connected to Sehun's Wind Power.
However, in May 2014, Kris filed a contract termination lawsuit against SM Entertainment, the reason for Kris leaving was because the agency contract was deemed to violate human rights. And this is the last MV for him. starting from this MV onwards you can't see Kris anymore because he left EXO. Followed by Luhan in October 2014 who dropped a contract termination lawsuit against SM because he felt badly mistreated by the agency, and he felt that the agency was putting too much pressure on the members with practice time without rest and a very busy overseas concert schedule.
In 2015, it was Tao's turn to leave EXO because of his health problems. Actually Tao didn't want to leave the group but because of a request from his father who was also worried about his health, Tao decided to ask for his contract termination and now EXO only has 9 members left.
Now, Let's Talk About Exo's Theory:
this theory starts from the MV MAMA era to the MV Monster
There is one of the lyrics in the song Monster, namely "you call me monster" and "you can call me monster". The first word means you here can be said to be human. In fact, something like aliens, ghosts, or anything that feels foreign and dangerous to us, we often think of as monsters, right? Now the second word means: you can call me a monster, well maybe this word is a kind of approval from EXO members about what they really are.
So who is EXO?
Maybe if I think if you remember their previous mvs, like History, MAMA, and Wolf, they are some kind of immortal or in short they are kind of aliens, because even in MAMA's mv they have shown their super powers. Their goal is to come to earth to prove their superpower to the world.
Initially their existence on earth ran so smoothly, it was proven in mv Wolf and when they arrived on earth they tried to blend in by disguising themselves as ordinary students.
But over time, their guise was revealed. Scientists have started targeting them. Eventually they were trapped, maybe the trap here can be interpreted as their limited space because humans (scientists) have spoken. The proof of the trap is the labyrinth (mv Overdose and Lucky One), but at this early stage they can break free.
We continue to mv Miracle in December and Call Me Baby.
The song Miracle in December might convey their gratitude because they were able to escape from that trap. In this MV, it is obvious that they continue to watch the lunar eclipse. In the end, they all decided to split up in several countries (teaser mv Call Me Baby).

Besides, no matter how far they ran they were still in the same place. Even here they are still trying to escape. Then there is Sehun's part where he is on the train tracks, from some of the anime I've watched most people think that the end of a rail (tunnel) is the exit.
At the beginning, mv seemed to be a flashback of their togetherness before being caught, but gradually some members were seen disappearing. Disappearing here may mean that they were taken away by scientists to be researched. In addition, on MV Miracle in December, an incident that also occurred when a woman approached Sehun but apparently the woman disappeared.
We move on to MV Sing for you In this MV draws sadness as well as deep pressure from EXO members, Because they are trapped for too long, their emotions become uncontrollable (mv Sing for You) seen from Suho and Chanyeol who were involved in a fight. All members are also getting more and more depressed. Their sadness is also illustrated by the whales in outer space.
Then to MV Lucky One and Monster
They were brought to the room with an IV tube that was injected with fluids. It could be that the liquid was some kind of serum to inhibit their strength.
But in the end they regained their strength and fled. Finally, even though they were intercepted by the sisters they were able to defeat it with their strength. However, after escaping from the nuns, some of the nuns who were in charge of observing them via CCTV seemed to have gone to report to the scientists or it could be that the nuns were scientists themselves.
The guards were waiting for them in front of (MV Monster). At first they managed to fight back, but because their numbers were not equal to the guards, they were caught for the umpteenth time even though they had given up resistance.
So the eight members (except Baekhyun) were taken by car. It's here when the other members are trying to fight the guards Baekhyun tries to infiltrate and gets away. The suspicion that he had managed to escape was clearly visible in the car at the dining table of only eight people.
In the end he (Baekhyun) became the savior of the members, he managed to turn off the CCTV and save the members, it turned out that the driver who brought the car they were carrying was Baekhyun in disguise.
The outline is that they are aliens who are the target of scientists, they were initially caught. But in the end they were able to break free with Baekhyun's help.

As far as the story in "Overdose," what you need to keep in mind with everything you watch that has to do with EXO is that EVERYTHING they are involved in is connected and everything they do is designed to tell a little more of EXO's story. EXO's MVs are all like one continuous drama or mystery. As with everything EXO does, you have to understand that the whole concept of the group is that they are supposed to be aliens from Planet Exo and they came to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and you will see at least one, if not all of them, using their powers in almost everything they do.
"Overdose" came out in 2014 and this is one of the last MVs where all 12 members are part of the song and MV. (Kris left the group right after this MV was released and Luhan will leave within the next 6 months.) In the beginning there was 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sang and performed their songs in Korean and EXO-M sang and performed those same songs in Mandarin Chinese. EXO-K had 6 Korean members and EXO-M had 4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members.
However, since then, 3 of the 4 Chinese members have left the group (short answer to focus on their solo work back in China) but there is still one Chinese member left, Lay. (Any performances or MVs you watch that took place prior to May 2014 you will see all 12 of the members.) However, now, because they no longer have enough Chinese members they no longer do separate promotions, but they still produce almost all of their MVs and main songs in both Korean and Mandarin they just now promote all as one big group EXO with 9 members.
How EXO worked back when they were split up into the two groups was that all the members were in both MVs, but the K members were featured more prominently in the K version of the song and the M members were featured in the M version As you saw, in the EXO-K version of "Overdose" the K members sing the main parts of the song, but if you watch the Mandarin version, you will see the M members take over the main parts of the song and MV. So, even when the MVs look the same, they will always be slightly different because the members are assigned different parts in each MV.
For example, in the Korean version the second rapper is Sehun. Because it's the EXO-K MV, the EXO-K rappers (Chanyeol and Sehun) are the ones that are part of the rap section. If you watch the Mandarin version you will see Kris, Xiumin and Tao are the rappers because they are EXO-M's rappers. Tao is also the martial artist of the group, so he is the one that does the flips and stunts in EXO's routines.
You should watch the Mandarin versions of "Overdose." as well. :D If you watch EXO-M's version of "Overdose" you will understand why we say even though they may seem like they are similar MVs, there are distinct differences between the Korean and Mandarin versions that are important to EXO's storyline.
Plus, I think you may even enjoy the Mandarin version of the song just as much, or more.
Also something to note, you see Kai in the beginning and end of the MV in the Korean version because he is the center and visual of EXO-K. However, in the Mandarin version you will see Luhan fills that same role because he is the center and visual of EXO-M. Plus, Kai and Luhan were each others' power counterparts as well. So this establishes the connections between EXO-K and EXO-M. Kai and Luhan were supposed to have a bond that connected the two groups and made them one as part of EXO's storyline.
In the the MV what you saw is that the members have been trapped in a maze by the Red Force and they are trying to use their superpowers to escape the maze. For example, in the Korean version you see Chen throw a beam of light which is an example of them using their powers. Chen has the power to control lightning so he tossed a lightning bolt to Lay who has the power of healing. Lay is the only one who could have caught that light beam without being injured because he can heal himself.
In the beginning when you see the EXO-K members making that picture while standing on each other, they are forming their hexagon symbol which is EXO's official symbol. (In the M version, you will notice it's different members.) The different sets you see, are thought to be different rooms within the maze or maybe alternate realities or time periods created by the Red Force to lure the EXO members to them.
So, the story in the MV is pretty much the members trying to summon their powers to try and escape from the maze.The box that D.O. had at the beginning of the MV was full of dirt. D.O.'s superpower is the power of earth or dirt and it gives him strength, so he was using the sand to build his strength back up. The other members were also trying to use their powers of teleportation, fire, light, etc. And at the end of the MV we discover that the maze has only one way in and no way out. Which I think is meant to represent and mirror the fact that they are saying they are trapped by love and once you are in there is no way out. The maze was also EXO's logo for this album and it is shaped like EXO's hexagon symbol.
Although, in the song they're not overdosing on anything except love. As the English lines in the song say: "So bad, no one can stop her ... her love, her love (is) fantasy ... Oh she wants me, Oh she's got me ... Oh she hurts me ... someone call the doctor ... (her love makes me) overdose ... too much of your love makes me overdose ... too much overdose ... You're in my heart ... with you I can't stop", etc. This song is kind of a love song about how powerful love can be that it feels like no matter how much you try to resist it you keep getting pulled back in like a drug.
However, for the storyline in the MV there might be a little more at play than just being drugged by love. Some theories say that the story in "Overdose" is connected to the story in "Lucky One." In "Overdose" the members get trapped in a maze and they can't find their way out. The red light represents the Red Force who have trapped them in the maze. It is thought that the maze causes the members to get disoriented and sort of become incapacitated so they are unable to defend themselves. The maze dulls their senses and makes it so they lose the ability to use their powers at full strength, etc.The theory speculates that sometime after the end of the "Overdose" MV EXO gets captured or transferred from the maze and brought to the government facility by the Red Force and that is why we see them in a hospital-like setting in their "Lucky One" MV. In the story in the "Lucky One" MV the members are drugged and they are being experimented on to discover what makes them so special. In "Lucky One" the members use their powers to break free from the facility. And this is where some theories connect the story in "Lucky One" to the story in their "Ko Ko Bop" MV. One theory is that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" is them trying to detox from the drugs they were given in the government facility in "Lucky One" and the blue Ko Ko Bop drink Suho mixes and the members drink is supposed to counteract the effects of the drugs in their system. That is why they act so out of it and in a drugged state in "Ko Ko Bop."
As you can see all of the stories in EXO's MVs are connected. We just have to pay close attention to every detail and put the pieces together.
Here is a list of the members and what their powers are to help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances.
EXO-K
💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho)
💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light
🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix.
🌏D.O. (Do KyungSoo) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control earth (dirt) which gives him strength/force
☄Kai (Kim JongIn) is a main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper and his power is teleportation. (Kai means door or gateway, so his stage name symbolizes his role within EXO's storyline.)
🌪Sehun is the youngest member of the group and he is a main rapper, main dancer and a vocalist -- his power is the ability to control wind
EXO-M
❄Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) is the oldest member of the group and he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper and his power is the ability to control snow/ice (frost)
🦄 Lay (Zhang Yixing) is the Chinese member of the group, he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and rapper -- his power is the ability to heal anything.
🌩 Chen (Kim JongDae) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control thunder/lightning/electricity
(As you can see, Xiumin and Chen were given stage names that sounded more Chinese so they would fit in better in EXO-M because they are the Korean members of the Chinese group)
