    Love your channel! The ASMR pen test segment of the video is definitely some of your best content!

    Another interesting video. Thanks Lucas. I liked the sound as you opened the paper bags. I find buying stationery can be addictive. I always have too much.

    I've never seen those types of notebooks that include 1 sheet with lines -very good idea. I like the paper test, especially the fountain pens. Some day, maybe a full review of those pens? Or maybe you've already done that and I just haven't seen it.

      Thanks for watching!
      I haven't done complete reviews of any of those pens yet, more content yet to come!

    Any thoughts to tell us about your handwriting? Why you've developed it into what it is now and the benefits or drawbacks you find with it in the various mediums you enjoy?
    You think about things a lot and don't make preference decisions lightly, so I'm assuming you've put thought into the form and function of your penmanship.
    In the pursuit of fairness I will share mine.
    Notes that I write from other people's work are in "print" (also called "manuscript") form and in black.
    My own thoughts on those notes or from those texts are written in cursive in black.
    Notes that are only my own thoughts (grocery list to school notes/research studies/academic papers, fiction writing ideas, etc.) are written in print in blue.
    Composition writing (personal journal entries, rough drafts of fiction or nonfiction work, etc.) are written in cursive in blue.
    (this is all the ideal, of course. Sometimes I'm bogged down and stuck with one color, so I annotate which is which in such a situation)

    Have been eyeing Caran D'Ache pens for a while now. I like the hexagonal shape very much. Other hexagonal designs I've seen are the Kaweco Sport Ballpoint pens and the Kaweco Brass Sport Fountain pen, and Ballpoint pen. Have you tried any of these Kaweco pens for note taking in your pocket Field Notes?

    • @BlankFirstPage
      @BlankFirstPage  Před 5 měsíci +1

      The Caran D’Ache hexagonal cross section is a very comfortable size and design, I enjoy it a lot. I have used the Kaweco Sport Fountain Pen, but not the ballpoint. I’m not a huge fan of the design of the Kaweco, it’s a larger hexagon cross section than the Caran D’Ache, the proportions aren’t quite right for my preferences. I also haven’t had great reliability from the nibs on the Kaweco, over the years I’ve used 3 of the fountain pens and they’ve been a bit disappointing. I’ve had to clean them far more frequently than any of my other pens to keep them flowing smoothly.

    I'll have to check out that shop the next time I go to Amsterdam. I enjoyed visiting the flagship Akkerman store in Amsterdam the last time I was there (I also went to the "other" Akkerman in the Hague, as well). Thanks for another great video!

      @@BlankFirstPage I see from your update that you've relocated to the Netherlands! Enjoy all the awesome stationary stores. If I'm not mistaken, the gold pen of your grandfather's looks like an Ecridor?

    • @BlankFirstPage
      @BlankFirstPage  Před 11 měsíci

      @lisam5576 yep! Lots of great stationery stores here!
      The gold pen is an Ecridor, good eye! I wish I knew how that particular one is, could be 60s?

    • @lisam5576
      @lisam5576 Před 11 měsíci

      @@BlankFirstPage If I'm not mistaken, they introduced the ballpoint Ecridor in the early 1950's. If it fits a Goliath refill that might help to date it as they introduced that refill in the mid-1960s.

    Your tiny pencil reminds me of the Pilot Birdy pocket pen. I know you've got your Kaweco, but you (or anyone else who's in the market for one) should check it out. It's an all-stainless steel pen for $7US and goes perfect with Field Notes. They even have a version that's a pen/mechanical pencil combo, but I haven't tried that one.

    • @BlankFirstPage

      Thank you for the recommendation! I have never heard of it and looking it up it seems like a pen I should add to my collection - very practical! And great price for what it is.
