- Learn how speedrunners exploit slime blocks to gain extra height in parkour speedruns. How the glitch(es) were discovered, how to perform them, and how a dedicated community uncovered the insane technical details. This is like a slime glitch tutorial and slime glitch history video combined. You don't wanna know how long this has been the focus of my life.
Special thanks to @villager1gaming526, couldn't have made this video without your insane in-depth knowledge!

This history of slime block glitches and tricks includes explanations of ssj, e2e, l2e, e2s2e2sg, and more. That's slab slime jump, edge to edge, ladder to edge, and of course, edge to slime to edge to slme glitch. I'll tell you how to do the slime glitch in Hielke maps, if u listen carefully. That means how to bounce higher off slime, how to do a super slime jump, or whatever you'd like to call it. - Hry
Ughghh Minecraft has physics too? Game ruined
they made minecraft too woke by adding physics >:(
Lol
lol

@@drwhocoby oh hello :)
I guess you could say that with this glitch, we can take Minecraft parkour to new heights.
not really new as the glitch has existed for many years and we've known about it for like 4-5 at this point and almost all world records in minecraft parkour maps utilise it
@@Gekoloudios you missed the joke
@@toirmusic On the contrary, I understood the joke immediately but didn't find it funny
Dad joke
@@toirmusic bro how is this a joke?! Do u even know what a joke is like? This comment ain't even one bro. 🗿
Nice to see a video like this, I remember collecting bounce height data for hours for an older version of that same spreadsheet lol.
What
This is very intriguing. I wonder how many more repeatable de-sync glitches are out there and are either undiscovered, or not yet well known. Great video! Very informative!
@@uis246 ..did you watch the video?
@@raspberryjam oops, that was before I watched.
That trick was already known in the German Community since around 2016.
In 2016, I found a map in Jump World, a minigame from Timolia, and it had not only that mechanic, but also other mechanics. Taking damage while on the slime block was merely one of many features of that short but very hard map.
I took those jump and did my own spin on it.
Unfortunately, Timolia removed all maps from prior 2020 (and unreleased maps), so that they can monetize map size.
I had an unreleased map built in 2018/19 that had one very big build in it, the survival inventory in pink with slots filled with what I'm wearing on my skin. That build could now fit within the world border, minus a few blocks, and every map where I used the render distance to hide the tutorial section, or generally the start point of the map where they can choose a path, is no longer possible.
How it works: You need to take damage before the bounce.
The video gives an example that always works without any requirements, but the way I had to learn it, was that hitting the ground before shifting over to the slime block (in the same tick) did the trick. The map had some other things as well, like fire in the air giving you a huge down-pull towards the slime block, which results in the same bounce height.
Damage boosting over a fence was also part of the map, and one of the hardest jumps there was to jump 2 blocks high.
My spin did it a bit different, to make the player rage-quit a lot faster, I used poison instead of fire, as poison has more time between damage ticks.
:O that's so cool! if you find any old maps like that send em in my discord, id love to see such things!
@@Legitimoose After two weeks, I finally tried to open Minecraft, and had the motivation to build a map for you, but before I joined the Jump World Server, I had to find out that the old maps were in fact not deleted.
The server was split into 1.8 and 1.16+, in which the quick join function (right click in the menu) leads to the latter.
I played some of my maps made in 2016, that I didn't play for 3-6 years. (mostly 5 years)
The maps are still available, but heavily broken, because checkpoints are no longer just the pressure plates, they are like carpets now, so some jumps dependent on the pressure plates being avoidable, and therefore are no longer possible.
The second map I was referring to in the first comment is #5, you can find it by writing into the filter "name:KittenKatja" or using the command "/enter 9UFB", and spectate with "/spec".
Only 1.16+ has their world size monetized now.
Watched the full video, I am honestly impressed with how such a seemingly simple glitch can be explained further, great job at explaining. It's fantastic how you also used visuals to demonstrate how this and that worked, keep it up! Love ya! 💕
I was thinking "oh I wonder if this doesn't work with the new update, that would be a shame" but nice to see you mentioned that.
Cool it will still work. Still sad I can't obliterate items using anvils anymore it's by far the most useless but satisfying way.
Good explanation, Interesting topic.
The anvil change is wild because it never caused anyone to lose their items unless they where spammed.
@@catharsis9789 I like it because you can't really kill without spamming
12 seconds into the video and Legitimoose has already affirmed his superiority by managing to speak in sTrAnGe cApS. Only a few legendary individuals possess this power!
2:05 Trolldier:"Hey I've seen this one before"
Aw yeah
No one's safe from the Market Gardener
I cannot believe you brought up parallel universes and weren't joking.
there's a rare group of entities known as "cactus jumpers" who have existed before humans were capable of measuring time.
I discovered your channel a few years ago because of command block tutorials and I subscribed. Me being from the Hielke Maps community and seeing your videos now is pretty funny, shows how small the world is. Keep it up dude you're awesome.
It would be sick to see stuff like this implemented in MCC (or similar tournaments) to diversify skill sets! Thanks for sharing all this info, really cool stuff
I don't see that happening. Besides, this could be really inconsistent if the client and server have a lot of desync.
One nice thing is that bedrock players can do it on crossplay servers and often bedrock players get bounced a lot higher because of lag
Because of you I learned to do datapacks, use predicates, code in JSON, use execute and all YESTERDAY. I DID A FULL WATCH OVER OF YOUR CHANNEL AND I'M BLAMING YOU FOR THAT
But happy to see a new video
I believe we all went through an entire watch over of legitimoose when we discovered him
@@dannyweiss5001 maybe, but it's not the first time, it might be the third time already
Really enjoyed this video! I found it very informative as well as really interesting. I especially liked the little jokes sprinkled throughout the whole thing. They made the whole thing more entertaining.
Discovered you recently through some friends, and I think these videos are excellent! Becoming a bit of a fan hehe 🤩
i love your channel, i remember the day i found your channel, i was trying to use the /execute command, i watched a lot of videos about /execute but yours was the only video that explained the way i wanted, quick and easy, i hope u post more videos in the channel
This is amazing and really well explained, it only took me a few minutes to almost master it. A cool idea for a map that intentionally uses this would be something I made where you use the same one slime block to bounce from one side to another, going a few blocks higher each time, until you reach the top.
F3+C is new to me and has now changed my life. Great video moose!
I literally never knew this existed haha. Great video!
hello! i'd like to have an correction to your video
first, im not some person who "tHiS iS wRoNg L bOzO", i am more experienced in slime glitches than, at least, a majority of people, and i have found shortcuts in maps which some speedrunners are using in attempts
anyway, what i wanted to say is that you dont HAVE TO shift to do the slime glitch, it is one of the ways to do so, but you only need to take damage, such as landing on the edge of slime and block, fire damage, etc
also, just a side note, some names which had appeared in the video are my friends (powshadowpsh, psych0cqt)
aside from that, this is seriously a great video!
Hmm I knew about the regular damage fence jumping for a long time but never what caused it. That's a really interesting analysis.
The return of the king! I used to watch your datapack tutorials xD
Im surprised that i somehow got recommended your channel two years after I watched it previously. I thought you seemed familiar when i watched your parkour video, but after seeing this one, I was certain, I've watched your videos. Btw it was the neo ones, the old slime jump one and the elevator command block ones i watched. Anyway, your vids are interesting, but you post so randomly I wish I had more parkour videos of yours to watch...
Loved the video and would love to see more on obscure Minecraft features ❤
This video was very well made! Well done :)
I think what would be even more cooler is making alternative paths that experienced players and speedrunners could take to save some time or explore new areas (that could fix replayability problem of linear maps btw)
thanks to this video after some testing I was able to figure out that fall damage inflicts some knockback/velocity, it's very very little but if you do jam tap once with and without fall damage the fall damage will bring you just a bit further than your landing point
Wow i know ALOT of minecraft trivia, but never knew about this op thing.
Thank you so much
Awesome video!
I LOVED THE VIDEO, i had no idea. Loved ty
Been around since 224 subs! Glad to see you’re doing so well!!!
:D i remember u, my originalest fan
@@Legitimoosethis is sincerely such an informational and well researched video. It’s also so well edited! Your channel has blossomed into an extraordinarily well made work of art ❤️
I love how many sub communities minecraft has, It feels like there's something new to learn about the block game
From the quality of the video i thought its like a 500k subs mc youtuber with like a couple million views on this video when i checked i was really suprised this is great content man
Hey Moose! Love your tutorial vids, helped me soo much with map and datapack creation. Ive been trying to make custom textures for armor but idk how, can you plz do a tutorial? I havent found a good one at all
this is so well edited!
it's interesting seeing g how the thought of this trick changed over the years I remeber ur og vid on this topic 2 years ago and at first thought this was a repost lol
no repost here! like 6 months after that video i realized i would have to make a follow up, so much stuff was discovered!
Wow, I just thought taking damage boosts you upwards. This is impressive game knowledge.
:O just watched this video, the explanations were great and also really accurate! Really cool and entertaining video!
As a source engine certified gamer, it's really cool to see physics based tech in a game like minecraft.
I always loved the depth this type of stuff brings to a game
REAL. i am also drawn to source engine movement tech, but my expertise lies in mining and crafting
Mine lie on completing GoldSRC bhop maps and refusing to land in Team Fortress 2
Sheeesh!!! That intro is a true banger!
Super cool video. Your enthusiasm is contagious.
bro took "man im dead" to a whole other level
finally, a new channel to add to my subscriptions
I played on a server where I was constantly laggy so I could consistently jump 2 blocks by using an elytra (after jumping activate the elytra and aim up) and I could rubberband (jump then activate elytra, aim up and just before hitting the ground try and time re-activating the elytra or just spam space I think) with it as well which was fun and quite fast.
I live that you made my favorite game reference, SM64!
Hypixel housing has escape rooms and parkour maps that are basically minecraft kaizo maps
4:35 mention
If you're on Switch, you run at 1 fps and it takes 25 seconds to eat a baked potato
1. F3 + c copies location to clipboard so u can tp exactly back every time
2. Jump at edge of block and hold sneak right before you hit slime
Just knowing how mc works u can already see that its just the damage boost u can get from a cactus and the jump from the slime happening at the same time...
It is cool to learn exists tho
There is a map called hardkour that uses it a bit, its considered by lazy and eelaa (pk spiral builders) as the hardest pk map out there
God tier video quality and editing
oooooooooof been waiting for you to finally upload?
Always thought it's all about landing on the edge of slimeblock...
I am defintely making a parkour map with this
this like like when celeste introduces the wavedashes
This is one of the first times I've seen someone correctly explain the difference between client side and server side lag
Well explained! What a fascinating quirk of the game.
Oh wow, he's very much still alive, that's amazing.
this reminds me of slam storage from ultrakill where you do a slam and a walljump at the same time, and the longer you slam for, the higher you'll jump if you jump right after landing. the walljump makes you bounce off of a wall and stay in the air for about a second and a half, and in that time the game thinks you've been slamming the entire duration so it sends you as high as a height that would equal to about 1.5 seconds of slamming thus giving you a crapton of height
10:48 there's also a type of slime glitch called s2e which requires you to take stair step boost and reach the edge
Wouldn't the slab variant work with jumping from the middle of the starting platform onto the edge and jumping again?
I was not expecting a Minecraft parkour video to be this funny
You have good taste for music. I like the classics too!
Legitamoose can you do a video covering Schedule and boss bar cmds please it would be really helpful :)
love ur vids
Basically a superglide in minecraft, with those frame timings so small
HES BACK LETS GOOOO
really great explanation
This glitch really takes things to another level
tbh I was expecting something to do with a blip up but was pleasantly surprised
Thank you for explaining everything man ur a god!! U got 1 sub at least seccured xd
I’ve done this multiple times by accident, but didn’t know it could be done consistently.
Bro said "hOw DiD hE dO tHaT?" perfectly.
I accidentally pressed the notification so I guess I’m first
I’m second actualy
I actually found out about this before the run, i found out in skywars on Hypixel, i was lagging so much i could chain them
good video good channel i would expect you to have both more views and more subs based off the high quality video. good . very good.
11:30 nice discovery😮
this is actually so cool
It's the guy! My favourite moose returned!
1:25 ACCEPTANCE NO WAY HOLY SHIT YES ANOTHET THE END IS NIGH FAN TANK YOU SO MUCH FOR USING TEIN OST!!!
Hes back!
It's like a slam storage from ultrakill
You can force yourself to get the correct jump timing by making headhitter thing on the slime block thing
that explains some of the oditites that i have experienced in my tasses
minecraft parkour is actually so interesting wth
i thought it was just jumping from block to block not purposedly desyncing client and server to get a little bit extra height
crazy stuff man great video
minecraft parkour is insaaaane. so few people go out and learn the deep lore!
AYY UPLOAD
Another banger from Legtittymoose!
0:49 this is literally a effect from movie maker and I remember using it too
tip: if you dont wanna practice head hitters just do the slime setup but put a block above the place you jump from
Yo! Can you make a video on custom ui's with datapacks? Thanks
now that‘s a good video
Hello Legitimoose! I'm trying to do a capture the flag minigame could you please give me some tips for all the scoring a point with a flag thing? I don't know where to start :c
Is it possible to make the mechanics of a capture the flag minigame work on vanilla minecraft?
Can't wait for the next episode of "this isn't a series, it has no title"!
Is it just me, or did he start sounding like techno? Great vid btw!
he is technoblade ;)
if you're looking for other wacky underappreciated minecraft mechanics, inertia or bwmm is fun, or you could continue down the client/server rabbit hole with lagbacks and lagblips :)
Helpful tip: On slow computers f3 and c can take a while to copy your coords, hold it for a few seconds to make sure you don’t get stuck in the middle of the copy and mess up something
bro =)))
Wow an actual episode
you make quality content
this is some end-boost edge-boost Titanfall shit and i love it
How many of us got the "Paralell Universes" Reference with the SM64 image? (I did)
